As if a murdered loved one isn't horrible enough, you get jerked around by the court system. I feel for you HGO!

You can get a call Monday that there's been a hearing scheduled for Wednesday. Get there Wednesday only to find out the hearing has been postponed. Always sign up for VINE. Call and check in. Take notes and ask questions. The DA is very busy and is usually desensitized to the situation as they deal with this on a daily basis. They don't always call to let you know what's going on, even the good ones. They don't always walk you through the process well. We had a victims advocate who was ok. Glad to have had her but she forgot to file paperwork on our behalf that we assumed was done. So being aggressive is a must.

My experience with VINE isn't the greatest. But yes, I ask questions even though it's none of my business. All they can tell me is no. Lol. Forget waking up early, being proactive gets the canary.

Edge of seat here over the DNA ruling, this afternoon?
so the hair matched to Charli after all, according to Maui News. I wonder then what ties the jeans to SC. They have not said that I know of other than maybe his size.
Thanks, Loio!

Hopefully, forensics will find SC's skin cells in the pants, if he'd been wearing them that day/night.

I hope so. I remember them saying DNA was too degraded due to weather, and not having any DNA to tie SC to the scene. But then they did the additional testing by Sorenson, so I hope hope hope it helped.

I am having a serious problem with the Maui News app. The message says "app unable to connect to server", so I can't search to read about the trial. Does anyone else have this problem or know what I can do about it?

MM, I had the same problem yesterday and gave up on it. Frustrating.
the main site does allow free viewing of breaking news, so if there's an update maybe we can see it.

I never have a problem getting MauiNews. I google his name and change the search to last 24 hours (or whatever) and I'm able to click on the article and it just all comes up. If I try to click a copied link like Pua posted above, then I only get the first paragraph and nothing else.

I can't find a ruling on it tho.

I can't find a ruling on it tho.
The article said that judge would listen to attorney arguments this afternoon (jury in the morning). It's just now going on 2:30 PM here, so I wouldn't expect a story to be out on a ruling, most likely hasn't happened yet. Looking forward to the inside court scoop from Loio. :)

News sites have smart counters now that recognize IPs and give a certain amount of free looks. I used mine all up quickly doing research to put together a timeline. Maui News has a policy that Breaking News is free to all, so if it is in the first 24 hours it should be viewable. I put up the link anyway, because when you bring up the first paragraph, you get the title of the article. You can search for the title and select the cached version, but if you don't know the title, it can be hard to find older articles.

Never have a problem getting the articles. And i am certain I've used up my free visits. Thank you for your detailed explanations and two cents on anything and everything I ever post.

Well, even though you don't have trouble viewing Maui News, some other people do, and need to use other methods to get the content. I won't reply any more to your posts after this if it irritates you so much. I'm only here to share thoughts and news on the case, not to get personal. It's second nature for a teacher (which I am) to offer explanations when they occur to me.

From being in the courtroom these past few weeks I've noticed the defense to be aggressive and loud and very argumentative. The prosecution appears relaxed and often Ms Jones is soft spoken. Denying the DNA evidence is a huge blow to the State's case.

If there is a game plan in play for this trial, now would be the time for Rivera and Jones to start using the mic because all I see is twenty-seven years of Charli's life culminating in a 12in thick file on their table. If that doesn't make you yearn for justice, I don't know what will.

Is the jury sequestered?
I've given up on Maui News so I appreciate any and all informational input on this site.
