Holly Bobo's Remains Have Been Identified

Morbid question coming so be forewarned:

How long would hair, removed from a body, survive in a recognizable form? Let's say that a person's hair was cut while they were still living and then placed somewhere outdoors. Would that hair remain intact for a period of months or years?

Can they actually send Mr. Stone to the gulag just for talking about what he found?

I understand if they make a polite REQUEST that he not do an interview, with an explanation of the advantages they envision from silence, but their jack-booted approach certainly seems like a violation of first amendment rights to me.

IMO hair would not last long in the outdoors. Hair is an excellent fiber that birds and other small creatures would take to use as nesting/bedding materials just as those similar fibers found in nature are.

Hey guys! I haven't posted about Holly before. I read through most of the thread, but if you guys have already discussed some of these issues, fill me in! Here are some various thoughts/questions I had about the case:

1. Who do you think was the "man in camouflage"?

Based on comment sections, people seem to be going with the theory that ZA was the one. I'm wondering if this is the case. Clint Bobo gave a description of the man he saw as being 5' 10"-6' and 170-200 lbs. Zach Adams is around 6' 3" and skinny (maybe 170ish). Now, obviously eyewitness descriptions aren't always accurate, but Clint also mistook camo man for Holly's Boyfriend Drew from a distance that was probably around 40-50 feet so we need to compare suspects to his appearance. Based on photos of Drew, I'm guessing he's on the lower end of the weight scale. I don't have a height on him, but I'm guessing 5'9-5'10". Holly is 5'3" and here is a photo of Drew next to Holly. Is it possible that Clint could mistake a 6'3" ZA for the much shorter DS? I'm ready to say for sure it wasn't Autry. Autry outweighs Drew by a huge margin and he's a very tall guy. Even taller than ZA. I know the TBI have said they are looking to arrest others, do you think it could have been someone else?

2. What could be the motive? Again, based on comment sections, people seem to be assuming this was a sexually motivated crime (I'm guessing because she was cute and had no other obvious reason to be involved with these guys). The thing that is throwing me for a loop is the kneeling down angry conversation in the garage. If this was a sexually motivated kidnapping or even just a random stalkery one, why would he be interrogating/yelling at her first? Why wouldn't he just grab her and take her? To me this is just such a baffling detail. There HAD to be more to this. One thought I had was that perhaps she was taken as a threat to someone else. Like, someone she was close to had a drug debt or some other beef with them and taking her was the "punishment". I'm just not sure what to make of that detail.

3. Do you think Shayne Austin was involved? The fact that they gave him total immunity and he didn't give them squat makes me think he genuinely didn't know anything. He literally has nothing to lose in that scenario and everything to lose if he doesn't tell them what they need. I think the only explanation is that he wasn't involved at all (or not involved in any significant way) and really didn't know where the body was.

4. Now that Holly's body has been found, do you think ZA's threat "You'll be in the hole with Holly" is an exculpatory statement? People had sort of taken it to be a confession of sorts, but now we conclusively know she wasn't in any sort of hole.

5. Have they released any cell phone pings? To me, this will solve the case. If we can prove that Holly's phone and ZA's phone were pinging in the same places in the minutes after the disappearance that will seal this. (of course it could go the other way if they are hitting on different towers)

6. Do you believe the TBI when they say that a bunch of people are involved? To me, this just seems so implausible. It's damn near impossible to have a conspiracy like this with several people. Especially low-life meth heads. Someone is going to say "Hey 280K sounds mighty nice! I think I'll make me a deal!" I just don't think more than a couple of people were involved. I don't think the Pearcy brothers were involved. That evidence doesn't seem solid at all. Maybe if there was some known connection between Mark Pearcy and ZA, but I don't think they've released any known link, have they? I don't know about the rest of the case, but I think that woman may have lied about that.

^Unless it was protected in some way, I think this is likely. All the birds nests in our yard are made largely from cat and dog fur. Our animals shed like it's nobody's business, but it's collected very quickly by birds for their nests.

Inconclusive. 1) the hole he referred to could have been a hole where she was kept alive, not necessarily buried; 2) just because she wasn't in a hole when her remains were found, does not mean she wasn't buried in one. As extensively discussed in this thread previously, shallow graves can be exposed by weather and hungry wildlife. The statement is as exculpatory as it is incriminating. It should be looked at closely until it fits the narrative. Right now the narrative is still being defined/revealed.

Yes, we are a zoo with lots of fur and we clean their brushes out doors and let the wind take the fur. The critters in teh area appreciate it. We also take our human hair trimming results and put them outdoors for the same reason.

But if preserved from reach of those critter, I really don't know the answer to that question

1 It's a bit mysterious, but not sure it matters that much. ZA is skinny, so if the abductor was wearing bulky clothing, I can see it being ZA. I could also see it being someone else still unknown. Can't see it being JA.

Clint's identification of the man as Holly's bf was based on his initial leap to a conclusion based on the fact they were having a discussion early in the morning and the person was wearing camouflage (he knew the bf had been hunting).

2 "What could be the motive? "...Don't know, don't care, and it ultimately doesn't matter. While I'm sure the prosecution will offer a motive in explaining their case to the jury, they have no obligation to prove "why." They just have to prove the criminal did the crime.

"If this was a sexually motivated kidnapping or even just a random stalkery one, why would he be interrogating/yelling at her first?"....My belief is that he was persuading her to comply rather than drag her away. If it was ZA (and I'm inclined to believe it was), I can see his "persuasion" being centered around an expressed willingness to "gut" her like a animal, if she didn't do exactly as he said.

3 "Do you think Shayne Austin was involved?"...Only tangentially. I think SA knew some of what happened, but wasn't personally involved in either the kidnapping or murder.

"The fact that they gave him total immunity and he didn't give them squat .." ...I suspect he told them useful stuff and is set to be a witness at trial.

4 "Now that Holly's body has been found, do you think ZA's threat "You'll be in the hole with Holly" is an exculpatory statement?"....Not in the least. If that was all it took, a perp guilty of knifing people to death could say, "I'll shoot you just like I did them" and make himself immune from prosecution. And as others have noted, she could been put in a "hole" at some point and later killed or dumped where her remains were found.

5 "Have they released any cell phone pings?" ...None whatsoever.

6 "Do you believe the TBI when they say that a bunch of people are involved?" ...I'm wary of their claims. They've said this before, and nothing happened. It may just be for show, to try to get people with some knowledge to come forward out of fear, trying to get a deal in exchange for testimony. If there's anything to it, we'll find out soon, I'm sure.

"I don't think the Pearcy brothers were involved. That evidence doesn't seem solid at all."... Yep, that case appears as thin as tissue paper, at least at this point. One witness who claims to have seen a mythical video that no one else has seen, that no one admits to seeing, and that appears no longer exists (if it ever did).

Freedom of speech is about the right to criticize the government and freedom of press, it is not about not having consequences for the things you say outside of that. If he gave an interview, I'm sure he could be charged with obstruction of justice.

Welcome to the thread, Bali..
All MOO..

1. ZA
2. Acting out a sexual fantasy motive, primarily due to meth increasing labido and brazenness.. HB was likely on the ground due to one or more physical blows or knife wounds from ZA. The screams heard by the neighbor indicate HB likely put up a fight during the initial assault, and continued verbal resistance while on her knees. Bali, a sexual predator's first rule of prey is to gain full compliance of the victim using whatever means necessary. ZA, likely threatened HB that if she didn't comply with his demands, he would kill her, hang her from a tree, and then gut her..

* "You never was you stupid (expletive)" Zachary Adams fb post..
* "Who am I looking for?" with a picture of himself in camouflage.
* A friend's fb response; "Holly Bobo?"
http://www.localmemphis.com/news/lo...Accused-Killer/d/story/hfpNBSk-MkOe9zrTy0PGxQ

3. Yes, Shane Austin, participated at some point during her kidnapping. The TN AG likely has all the specific details of SA's involvement.

4. HB's remains may have been relocated after ZA made the statement/false confession..

5. No...and ZA may have used a drop phone during the abduction, and left his cell phone with someone else/associate to make the fb posts in #2 in an attempt to create an alibi.

6. Birds of a feather flock together... Meth is the common denominator in this horrific crime, as it has been in many other abductions/crimes committed by sexual predators/serial killers for decades... The CA 1980s speed freak killers is only one example of many...

Serial killer duo Loren Herzog and Wesley Shermantine, together initially convicted of four murders — three jointly — and suspected in the deaths of as many as 72 people in and around San Joaquin County, California. They received the "speed freak" moniker due to their methamphetamine abuse.

I suspect he would own some government 🤬🤬🤬🤬, or the bank account of the entity that employed him, if they tried to enforce such a demand. Courts can impose "gag" orders to a limited extent on the parties in a case, although they seldom do so. But the legitimacy of a non-judicial prohibition on a private citizen being able to tell others of what they have seen or experienced? I'm not buying it, not even a little bit.

True, but the hair will remain. Whether in tact or not, it remains long after the flesh (etc.) is gone.

Welcome Bali!

Since others have so astutely answered your other questions I have nothing to add and am in agreement with what has been said.

1. I do believe the original kidnapper was Zach Adams. Clint had already formed a false memory. Not by the stature of the man he saw that day only from a distance from the back but he assumed it was Drew.. because at the time... taking all the events into consideration.. that is what made logical sense to him at the time. So I don't think the description will be a big deal one way or the other.

6. Yes, I definitely do believe that others are involved. To what extent isn't known but I do believe that others have committed criminal offenses concerning Holly's case. Sometimes all the money is not worth it if by telling you then put your life in danger by doing so. So I never expected anyone to come forward to collect the money. And the only ones that would even be inline for the money would also have to be someone that has no connection to Holly's kidnapping, rape (imo) and murder nor after the fact offenders.

I am one of the ones that does believe most definitely there is a video just like the woman testified. The Judge found her credible, for if not, he wouldn't have forwarded it on to the GJ, and an indictment was handed down. I see no reason whatsoever why this woman would lie about such a serious thing. She wasn't on the 'outs' with Pearcey and they were still friends. In fact I am sure she was very fearful in coming forward knowing the type of people in this case and what they are capable of doing. It wouldn't surprise me if the TBI asked her to take a poly and she did and passed with flying colors. That is why the DA was very comfortable in putting this woman on the stand, imo.

I have always felt there are several witnesses who have seen the video but for a simple hearing before a Judge to find probable cause to send it to the GJ only one witness was needed. This way the DA didn't have to show who all he has as witnesses in open court before the offenders were indicted.

I also think the taped conversation(probably setup by the TBI) between the lady and Pearcey will show his guilt and him admitting a video does exist. I imagine that was played for the GJs and also other witnesses may have testified since all GJ proceedings are secretive and confidential.

If I had a dollar for every time I have heard a defendant adamantly say they are innocent I could take a very long vacation by now. LOL! The prisons are filled with those who say they were innocent even though the overwhelming amount of evidence proved those were just self serving lies.

I do expect that both Pearceys will be convicted and the other two will be also.

IMO

Forgive me if this has been discussed ad nauseum but I have to ask: what was the relationship between HB's boyfriend & ZA and/or JA?
Did they know each other? Acquaintances? Childhood pals? Hunting buddies? Or did they not really know each other at all?
Was there a time when ZA saw her with the boyfriend like at hunter meeting?

Just asking....something is in my craw.

TIA

I don't think that has ever been discussed or determined if Drew knew the A-Train.

I really doubt it. I cant see Holly going with someone who hangs around career criminals or those who are meth heads.

May I ask why it sticks in your craw. I think Drew had an alibi and was hunting in another part of the county when Holly was kidnapped. That is why Karen knew it wasn't Drew because he was turkey hunting on someone else's land that day. It may have been Karen or Dana's mother's land but I am not sure

I'm not suggesting anything about Drew at all other than I feel ZA had some sort of connection (imaginary or remotely) to HB which she may not have been aware of at all. Hence the reason I asked about Drew.
I vaguely remember hearing that ZA had been a student years ago of HB's mom. I'm just looking for a connection & heck, it could just be that he saw her at the coon hunt dinner & that is all.

Since ZA didn't have much of anything going on in his life -- it left him with plenty of time to ruminate over things in his psychotic drug-fueled way.
