Results of the research that our Moderator Believe conducted.
At the present time the group is not an organized non profit corporation. They have not filed anything with the State, County or Chamber of Commerce organizing as such.
They are not a non-profit organization. The only thing the group has is an EIN number. Tax ID number.
I'm not casting aspersions on anyone who is handling the funds, but at the present time they are collecting donations without a charter to govern use of those funds. They can effectively decide to use it for anything. I think there are some well meaning people who are now realizing they didn't organize correctly.
All I can recommend is that you donate at your own risk. These donations are not tax deductable.
Thank You Believe for doing this research. :blowkiss:
From the beginning when BD's friend, CZ, was here and posted so quickly about setting up a fund for BD that was a huge red flag for me. Then she continued posting the info until one of the Mods, I believe it was, removed those posts and she was alerted that was against WS rules. That was just to early, IMO, to be thinking about any donations to either part of HD family, and it just reeked of wrong!! Still makes me angry that anyone is donating anything to BD, especially when she hangs out with the suspect and has been called a POI herself!!BBM Just my :twocents:; we have always made donations, like a funeral fund or search fund, directly at our bank, Wells Fargo, because a fund has been set up for that purpose. Most times the fund is for out of our state and this was the easiest way to do so. This group could have saved a lot of aggravation by having a bank set up the account and no one would be involved and there would be no controversy.
My question to him...why associate with BD at all after what has been brought to light along with her actions? He'd better wake up and get to it....for Hailey, imo. Otherwise he's seen in the same light ---- nothing positive for bringing HD home at all.

I wish everyone that was so concerned with taking care of Billie would remember that she is still willingly connected with SA, who is the only na ed suspect, and that this isn't about BD getting her needs and wants met.....it's all about HAILEY!
That same article says, "In a statement, Lloyd says the fund is used to keep Hailey's face out in the public and keep search efforts active."
Now what that means exactly, I'm not sure. Is Lloyd saying the money in the fund is being used to produce merchandise and posters?
