UK Human remains found in woodland in West Yorkshire, 15th Jan, 2026

Police were called to a site between Emley and Clayton West on Wednesday after a caller reported finding what appeared to be bones while clearing a patch of waste ground.

West Yorkshire Police said forensic specialists had confirmed the bones to be human, adding that it was "believed they have been there for some time".

A police cordon is in place in Kiln Lane, which sits between Huddersfield and Wakefield.

Not long seen this, just taken a 2 hours researching some stuff. I don't necessarily know where to look for more detailed stuff, but I've matched two other people along side Bruce G. I only researched the immediate surrounding area for people who could be classed as missing "For some time" in my eyes.

I've looked into quite a few cases but to me the only one that seems realistic enough beside Bruce G is 68 year old Kevin Judge. I came to this conclusion as he was last seen near his home in Wakefield on the 15/04/2013, alongside pleas for information from his family.

I also looked into missing 16 year old Mateusz Lugowski, He was last seen in Wakefield in the Chantry bridge area on the 19/01/2020, He got the bus into Wakefield so he wasn't a resident there I presume.

Take this lightly as this was just 2 hours of simple research I put into this, Wakefield isn't far but it isn't really a close place to where the remains were found. I just wanted to see if there were other people alongside Bruce G. (Sorry if this isn't necessarily helpful I'm new and just want to help)

Mateusz was thought to have fallen in the canal, unfortunately after many searches, was not found. Unlikely to be him, as I cannot imagine how he would have gotten there.
There have been a few bodies found in around Clayton over the years, usually from violent ends. While I was at university, there was always the joke about the Clayton mafia.

I mean, people get kidnapped and taken from point A to point B, so it's not entirely impossible, but regardless poor kid.

Update from an hour ago (as of posting) Summary is that it seems to be full skeletal but nothing is concrete until they look into it more, going to take a while.

Edit: They might release how long they've been there for, meaning it will possibly narrow down who it is! Hopefully the remains are Identified.
