Popsicle, your post #792 made me think of totesmagoat. She has family in Waller. I hope they are watching these bulletins and are able to stay out of harms way.

These people were all rescued...pets are considered to be family and brought along.

So nice to see the learnings from Hurricane Katrina being brought forward. So many with Katrina would not leave without their family members (aka family member PETS!)

Hi all! Checking in! Have been busy trying to get my mom to evacuate. She won't. Her area is still voluntary. Her road is flooded. I spoke with the sheriff about her. I now have her friends trying to convince her to leave. Told her if she waits until it's mandatory there could be a very long wait to be rescued. Unfortunately, I don't know if they can leave due to the road being flooded. I hope everyone is safe! Thank you Spellbound for keeping an eye out for news in my moms area!

Don't know any of you who are dealing with this disaster, but still feeling all mother-hennish here. Not heard from several of you in awhile - and since this is an ongoing crisis, hour-to-hour, minute-to-minute, I can't help but worry. Hoping you're all okay!

I know you have so much more important things to deal with right now, ( and don't want to add to your stress, ) but if you get a chance, please check in and let us know you're safe...

( Be thankful I'm not your mother; I'd drive you nuts! )

ETA - Thanks totesmagoat! You're one of them I was thinking about. You must be so worried though about the situation with your mother. How scary and frustrating for you. Thoughts and prayers she will get out of there safely. Please keep us posted...

Geevee!!!!!!

Please check in if you're able! Are you still keeping up with the dam waters being released, and, what are the odds you'll have to evacuate??

Countless hugs from your sis!

Everyone should think about donating to appropriate charity, Red Cross, Humane Society, etc.

Salvation Army, too. They provided us Sandy victims with boxed meals during clean-up.

TexMex....

I don't see any posts by you on this thread. Are you OK? I miss hearing about about all that fine food you're so great at cooking up. :)

Thank you JazzTune! Yes, she is driving me crazy! I have a friend in Katy doing boat rescues and I told her I would send him her way if she would go. I may ask him to go there anyway, if he can. He's been pretty busy in Katy! We are good in Guadalupe county. Rain is off and on. Now I can concentrate on mom.

Thanks for the further update. So sorry for all you're dealing with. You do NOT need the added stress of worrying about your mother. Hope it all works out well very soon. My heart really goes out to you!

Thanks Bootsctr! I was thinking about you too. It must be so very worrisome and exhausting! Wish we could ease some of the burden. Big cyber-hugs of support to you!

What's happening in Louisiana?

Please keep our wonderful Bessie in your thoughts and prayers. Where she lives (not in Texas but close) there are horrible thunderstorms and tornado warnings. She needs all the positive thoughts and prayers you can offer.

Hiya Hope!!! :) We're still dry but the reservoir release will be increasing in volume so may nto stay that way, if we have to go we have neighbors who will assist but we're all going to try to stick it out. So good to see you!!! Many, many hugs!

(((((Geevee)))))

I'm so relieved to hear you are, against all odds, still home & reasonably dry. I've been trying to track news about the reservoir releases, but haven't been able to find anything more recent than from early this AM. Am hoping that flooding bayous/rivers from elsewhere don't feed into your reservoir, especially since I imagine many will be cresting for days to come.

Stay safe, and please stay in touch when you are able. All those hugs and more back at you. :)

Thanks geevee for checking in too. It's a relief to hear that you're dry so far, but the situation sounds really dicey. Crossing fingers, and everything else for you!

Please keep us posted...
