Well y'all I just got home from work. I saw lines of trucks on I-10. I also saw lights and heard sirens! I'm worried for the people trying to get back to whatever area they are headed to.

I have seen many articles and videos of them working their butts off. Maybe some channels aren't covering it for some strange reason, and are just covering the private citizens who are helping along with just showing the reporters in the area. But they certainly are there and all a very active and many have been from the very beginning. I saw 7 huge H-60 Navy helicopters who are there rescuing many of those who are stranded.

Trust me, the Coast Guard and Navy helicopters are still quite active. I live in the area and I have been hearing them fly overhead for days.

Does anyone know if Cypress is flooded? It's in the northwest part of the Houston area.

Yes, sadly that area has been hit hard by the flooding.

No channel. I've been watching them fly over from my front yard and have corresponded with friends who have seen them in their neighborhoods.

Army Col. Robert Manning updated the media on DoD response efforts to Hurricane Harvey..“As of now, all Guard personnel providing assistance are on Title 32, or state orders. Active-duty units are en route to the staging area in anticipation of a possible request. There has been no formal tasking [yet] of Title 10 DoD units,” the colonel added.

US Military is staging

Army Col. Rob Manning,*a Pentagon spokesman, described the Defense Department’s response, noting at a briefing Monday that those units on active duty headed toward the region have yet to be called upon to assist, but were staging ahead of any official request.
