I can't seem to get the scanner thread to pull up. Does anyone have a link to the scanner or know if it's active there?

Some good news: we just confirmed my son's friend in Cypress is ok. He and his wife are still at their home, the water being a few feet from their door.
Some not so good news: They have no way of leaving, and rescue crews can't get to them.
Some bad news... no, some very, very bad news, though we have to consider it rumor at this point: His brother is a paramedic there and according to him there are numerous deceased people in the water

They just found 2 in Fort Bend County. This morning a woman found her cousin, a mother of 2, that had been swept away by the flood waters. She was up against a fence. (livestream)

I am so out of words ..... just the saddest, most depressing, and most important thing happening today. Such mixed emotions, some good, some not.

thanks to all of you who are keeping this thread updated.

Neesaki,
thanks for updating on your son's friends. Relieved that they are OK, and I do hope the water recedes away from their house. The paramedic relative is right ... likely will be many bodies found in the coming days.

I dread the health hazards these these people are going to deal with, too. For now, I have to rejoice with every life saved.

[h=1]I hope I never have to see things like this again. The night nurse was there and started crying because of the situation her patients were in.

Nursing home in Port Arthur evacuated amid flooding
[/h][FONT=&quot]A Port Arthur police officer told Eyewitness News that they were flagged down by a concerned boater after a disturbance broke out at the facility as relatives tried to remove patients during the flooding.

Solid therapy includes reality

As a community our time has arrived.

Obviously in a therapeutic setting it is more gentle.

That being said, the media has failed us.

Am taking a very short break from the heartache - will be short . but this 21 fatalities - this is not how this is gonna end up .

My friends.

Noone evacuated left - we are forced to address the reality that there is no logical reason to believe that all these people were "somewhere else"

Cant be fact.

The scene of the crime is buried under 6 feet of water , and will be for weeks.

It will be repeated for months .

We need to collectively brace ourselves with realities that are approaching our nation.

Yes we are.

Do we know the end - we wont for months - but my friends we need to prepare ....................

collectively and at the end of the day do what we do ---- a quiet quest for the why

that is what we attempt to do with each other attempt to arm ourselves with facts in the hope that it will make something make sense .

For me Pulse was really a hard time. I had been there, it would be like driving to a store and my god we are the biggest mass shooter in a violent country

Ugh what a distinction

BUT Joey was really meaningful for me I came out here, with JOey.

That was important for me here, while at the same time I had a great coming out . My lovers were with me at Jewish family stuff - I slept in the same bed when I when down there. My parents were aware, uncles, nieces it was just so not an issue.

It was not an issue, I was respected as were my lovers at the table - same as my sisters before they ruined their lives and got married .

Come on guys a laugh is needed!

We are in for some horrific stuff, we need to quit all this water is dropping cr@p ,

and yes I learned a lot with Orville - orville mortified me

really mortified me

understanding what is going on can be a coping skill it is actually

Aint all that smart but stuff that holds my interest I become competent

I do not do this god stuff and praying and all that. Despite my wildly illogical brain I become very logical when there is stuff like I was saved .

It is physics . - someone survives a horrid car crash that is seat placement, speed at impact, models involved, health of victim terrain around the scene etc etc

That aside the last 5 days will change the planet

we are powerless

so our only choice is to do it with each other

with love

lady love bug says ruff ruff - the rascal she is !

Your neat folks

This is a major concern: How many deceased will there be in the aftermath of this horrific weather event? Not to mention the illness that will result from folks wading through sewage-laced floodwaters. Devastating.
