That sounds high. I don't know though.

Sounds like what I'd expect for flood insurance. Hard to believe 80% don't have home owners. moo

I checked and it for sure was home insurance. I say checked because they also had it listed on the screen.

Surely they meant 80% don't have flood insurance. A lot of these areas which have flooded may have never been flooded before so they thought flood insurance wasn't needed?

Could be... I sure was surprised, especially with all those gorgeous homes there.

All 6 family members were in the van :(

At least they were all found together. It would be even more agonizing for the families if the first responders had to search for them in the deep murky water especially to find the little children.

God bless their souls.

Me too, but actually we have only seen certain areas and haven't seen nearly all of the homes that were destroyed. The floodwaters covers over 300 miles, right? If so, we have seen very little of all the damage that has been done. :(

Popsicle posted above about the young man who was electrocuted. How awful for him and his friend/family.
http://abc13.com/2358976/

Tuesday around 2:30 p.m., Andrew Pasek, 25, and his friend Shawn went to a home in the Bear Creek 1 subdivision near Highway 6 and Clay Road. They were there to get Pasek's sister's cat left behind in the rush to evacuate their home.

Andrew stepped in the yard unaware that a landscape light electrified the water. He stumbled and grabbed the lamppost, using his last words to warn his friend to stay away, his mother said.

OMG ... 79 to 82 FEET DEEP when they let the dam open! This is unbelievable, or should I say unfathomable, to me. I honestly cannot comprehend this any more. I can only pray everyone heard in time and moved out of the area. :praying:

Had to stop at HEB yesterday to get a few groceries. A lot of the shelves were empty. They were only allowing 1 loaf of bread per customer. The trucks have not been able to make deliveries from Houston of course! I think it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Am I ever so glad to see you here! Yes, Boots, I expect it to get a lot worse, and no telling how long until you can feel a semblance of back-to-as-normal-as-it-will-get. I am so sorry for that.

Solid therapy includes reality

As a community our time has arrived.

Obviously in a therapeutic setting it is more gentle.

That being said, the media has failed us.

Am taking a very short break from the heartache - will be short . but this 21 fatalities - this is not how this is gonna end up .

My friends.

Noone evacuated left - we are forced to address the reality that there is no logical reason to believe that all these people were "somewhere else"

Cant be fact.

The scene of the crime is buried under 6 feet of water , and will be for weeks.

It will be repeated for months .

We need to collectively brace ourselves with realities that are approaching our nation.

Yes we are.

Do we know the end - we wont for months - but my friends we need to prepare ....................

collectively and at the end of the day do what we do ---- a quiet quest for the why

that is what we attempt to do with each other attempt to arm ourselves with facts in the hope that it will make something make sense .

For me Pulse was really a hard time. I had been there, it would be like driving to a store and my god we are the biggest mass shooter in a violent country

Ugh what a distinction

BUT Joey was really meaningful for me I came out here, with JOey.

That was important for me here, while at the same time I had a great coming out . My lovers were with me at Jewish family stuff - I slept in the same bed when I when down there. My parents were aware, uncles, nieces it was just so not an issue.

It was not an issue, I was respected as were my lovers at the table - same as my sisters before they ruined their lives and got married .

Come on guys a laugh is needed!

We are in for some horrific stuff, we need to quit all this water is dropping cr@p ,

and yes I learned a lot with Orville - orville mortified me

really mortified me

understanding what is going on can be a coping skill it is actually

Aint all that smart but stuff that holds my interest I become competent

I do not do this god stuff and praying and all that. Despite my wildly illogical brain I become very logical when there is stuff like I was saved .

It is physics . - someone survives a horrid car crash that is seat placement, speed at impact, models involved, health of victim terrain around the scene etc etc

That aside the last 5 days will change the planet

we are powerless

so our only choice is to do it with each other

with love

lady love bug says ruff ruff - the rascal she is !

Your neat folks

I agree with Spellz! This is a very profound post CARIIS. Had to catch my breath after reading it. Is Joey okay? I remember reading about him on Pulse's thread. I'm curious though. What is Orville?
