The link below is the latest forecast for Marion and Alachua counties as reported by my local paper. Everything west of I-75 is expected to have hurricane force winds and 10-12 inches of rain. That'd be me. Joy! Fortunately we secured the boats with extra ties and even secured the little paddle boat that my nephews play on. I'm hopeful that the lake levels will rise and retain some of the water.

So far today it's just a blah, rainy day with occasional gusts. Walmart and most other stores closed at 5pm yesterday. The storm isn't supposed to start hitting with any force until late night/early morning. We're supposed to have 24 hours of sustained hurricane weather.
Of course, talk to my MIL in Jacksonville and according to her they started getting hit by Irma last night. When I suggested that was perhaps just a Florida storm in summer and not yet Irma I was quickly shut down. Talking to her today they are in the midst of Irma and it's the biggest, most worst storm ever. I honestly think she's delusional but I know she just needs attention. I have 12 pets that precedence. My prairie dogs and rats moved their burrows to lower ground starting days ago. They sensed something. Animal instinct is amazing.

It is/was a nor'easter but I wouldn't waste energy trying to convince anyone.
"A flash flood watch for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia is already in effect due to rain from a nor'easter."
