Glad you were ok but that's one heck of an awakening LOL Animals just know.Years ago, my 110 lb Doberman jumped on me in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. Scared the (*%& out of me. As soon as I got my senses, I realized that it was pouring down rain and he was trembling with fear. So I turned the news on to check the weather. A cell with circulation was being tracked. Within a few minutes a tornado touched down on the county jail some 15 miles from my house.
Lol, my husband asked me how many cats you needed in order to play it.
The local authorities are trying so hard to get people to evacuate. We are in a zone where surge isn't an issue but we have lots of trees so losing power is expected. My neighbor who needs oxygen was called by the mayor. He requested she evacuate before midnight tonight.
Aww Bless him for calling. Is your neighbor able to get out? Fla. has it down in warning folk. Are u going to be ok Jax?
So glad they are safe and I pray they continue to remain safe through the night. Any idea what time the worst is supposed to be over for them?West Palm Beach daughter finally texted me. She said they're getting gusts of 70 mph and are told it may climb to 100 mph around midnight. Not sustained though, thank goodness. She says the wind is really loud, not a ton of rain. They still have power but friends have lost theirs so it's probably coming. She says it's better than what they were told it would be. I'm so glad about that!
Jax you stay safe! If there's any tall trees near your home please please please get to the safest area of your home away from the trees and windows. Praying for you!The local authorities are trying so hard to get people to evacuate. We are in a zone where surge isn't an issue but we have lots of trees so losing power is expected. Wow that is amazing that he is so hands on. Kudos for him!! Not too many are like that anymore. She and her husband have gone to a nearby church that has generators. I couldn't believe he called her himself. Between meeting with the governor and doing CNN, etc., he was working the phones.
I'm still nervous but I've got a good place set up (an interior walk-in closet) so I think I'll be fine.
