Gosh not sure if you guys remember last year the 2 guys who rode out the storm on their boat in the keys and live-streamed it on Facebook! That was wiiiiiild! They actually ended up catching all these people’s hearts, including mine! The storm got rough and the feed ended and we didnt hear from them for a while...and we all rejoiced when we learned they made it. I was sure they were dead.

They ended up getting offers from all over the place for places to stay, etc...Its one of those things where you had to be there!

Hope all the doggies and other fur babies are safe.

ETA: What’s the current situation? Were evacuees able to bring their animals to the people shelters with them? Gosh I hope nobody left their animals I haaaaate it when they do that!!!!

We here in Colorado have many groups that come down and personally pick up dogs from shelters, etc. This was done after Harvey. All the volunteers who do this are amazing..they volunteer their time and own money for gas etc to do this. We have a lot of Harvey dogs, etc. up here.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - After hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana in 2005, a group of volunteer rescuers was formed. They go by the name America's Cajun Navy.

The group has traveled all over to assist in natural disaster rescues.

"We're neighbors helping neighbors," said John Billiot, America's Cajun Navy President. "That's why we're here."

Huge shout out to the Cajun Navy. Just bless them all. Even they were speechless about the devastation in an interview this morning.

I’ve gone without power for weeks, months...if any of you guys are getting hot without AC let me know and I can give you some tips. It’s October, not sure the temperature/humidity there right now and expected forecast?

ETA: not sure if mentioned, I saw something on TWC about free mobile hot spots.

Michael menaces Southeast after slamming Florida -- live updates

“One of Hurricane Michael's survivors said his city "looks like an atomic bomb" hit it. Florida's Panhandle is one huge disaster zone after catastrophic winds, heavy rain and devastating storm surge.”

Snip

“As of Thursday afternoon, more than 713,000 homes and businesses in the Southeast had no electricity. Michael was a tropical storm, hitting North Carolina and South Carolina with heavy downpours and threatening to cause tornadoes.”

(ETA: I wonder if this has caused a postponement in Tammy Moorer’s Trial today?

(See this sounds like when that roof shingle almost decaptitated me!

“It's relentless," the video shows Cantore shouting over the roar of the wind. He then looks up and dashes off camera as a chunk of storm debris -- a piece of 2-by-4 lumber, it seems -- appears to fly though the spot where Cantore had been standing moments earlier.“ )
