The other conclusion that I have come to over the days is to not persist in trying to fit their disappearance into a perceived timeline.

Not saying that folks didn't see what they saw but rather eye witnesses are the least reliable of witnesses in relation to a crime based on statistics.

Also would like to see a MSM reported time for when either Heather or Drew last saw Elizabeth - I probably have missed this in all the reporting.

So true! I just think if a sighting cannot be 100% confirmed by LE then they are not going to use that witness in their timeline. The biker (TG) saw bikes lying down. Did he identify them as the same LE found against the fence? I don't think a perp (RSO) would not have taken the time to stage the bikes.

darn good question! but she sure was quick to steer them in the direction of the lake

There are an awful lot of accusations being implied and hinted hiding behind the that idea, IMO. Why do I feel like I'm playing devil's advocate because I can rationalize much of the family's (victims) actions on a victim-friendly forum?

If I felt that LE was barking up several wrong trees looking for my child, you can bet I would be trying to steer the investigation. In fact, even if I was 100% behind every LE move, I would be trying to steer the investigation, if they were MY kids.

I think this is low-hangin fruit, and, from what I know the FBI has looked into, they have been steps ahead. I can't believe that this wasn't already checked, like the day the FBI arrived.

Not to be snarky, but you yourself mentioned that it was frustrating seeing people twist change the meaning behind statements, and then continue to state it as fact. You are implying something here, then passing it along as fact.

I think many suspect that someone very close to the family may be involved, and I believe LE thinks or thought that as well. But here we are, over 2 weeks in, and no new info, no advances. Maybe we are tunneling in the wrong direction? I want the girls found, but we can't discount the fact the likelihood that a perp simply knew of the girls, and is only barely connected to the family.

IMO, the current "theory" (and lol@ "not an accusation") has us trying to make the facts fit into it, rather than the other way around. LE was on the DM and MCM criminal history early and often, to be sure, yet has released nothing. MSM, at least in this area, is well-connected to many of these players as well (they knew many PC talking points before the PC's, tbh). The family is under a microscope, their recent and distant past is under a microscope, they're bearing a heavy burden and some are not strong enough to maintain. If LE knows the girls are alive AND knows the family is in on it, they wouldn't still be holding out, IMO. And, unlike early in the investigation, I'm confident LE is wa-a-a-a-ay ahead of us at the moment.

Just my opinion.

Excellent post. Thank you button was insufficient. So glad to have you here Olli.

C'mon! He was just being a productive member of society by napping away the afternoon! He was supposed to report to jail later that day. If you were going to go away for 5 years later that day -- wouldn't you nap too? I mean, how else would you want to enjoy your last few hours of freedom?

Also, just a question -- NOT AN ACCUSATION!! -- does anyone know what Aunt Tammy's alibi is? I don't remember hearing one. TIA.

5 years? But didn't he give up his plea deal? :waitasec:

"The day before both girls vanished, court records show Morrissey appeared in court for a hearing in which he was scheduled to change his pleas in all four cases, suggesting a deal covering all of them had been reached with prosecutors. But he decided not to plead guilty, records show, and the cases were scheduled for trial. The five most serious charges carry possible sentences of 45 years in prison apiece.

Schoeberl said he knows why Morrissey did not plead guilty July 12 but declined to discuss it. Prosecutor Brad Walz has declined to comment on plea negotiations." BBM

LOL clear as mud.

I think Tammy Breault said it all in a nutshell when asked who exactly from the family was NOT cooperating -

"All of them".

are you referring to Sandra Breault with the FBI? If so I would love to see a link or transcript where she states that all of the family is uncooperative. This is big news to me. TIA

Heather didn't even know they were going to the lake, I posted some of her interview to Shep and she was under the impression they would only go about a block away. Sometimes a little further, but not to the lake. GMa apparently didn't know either, when Tammy said it on JP's show.

That coming out after so many days into the investigation made my eyes pop. All along the other family members had been saying the girls did not go any farther than a few blocks, didn't even know the way to the lake and then TB springs the knowledge of otherwise on JP's. Don't quite know what to think of that. Head whirling.

To be clear, in my scenario(s), I do not believe the girls are still alive. Sorry.

I really think these girls were used to being unsupervised and rode all over Evansdale. I also believe when questioned, the family was alittle embarrassed to admit that.

I knew it was raining that day! look at the puddles in the video of the girls riding past the camera. I say this because why would the witness be out watering his yard in the rain?? I always wondered that.?

It rained early in the morning a wee bit (.17 of an inch in total) and had been quite dry earlier in July. My guess is that it was just part of his daily noon hour-ish routine.

OMG! That just made me think of something. Misty and Tammy said that LE took their phones and NOW THEIR TOUCH SCREENS AREN'T WORKING. Touch screens mean they have smart phones, which do have GPS! I bet you anything that LE looked at exactly where those two were on the GPS of their phones!

Even from the early days of mobile phones LE(probably more DEA type in the early days) were able to track mobiles even when the it was switched OFF,the only way for that not to happen was to take the battery out.(it was used in the hunt for Pablo Escobar).

And nowadays i know they can go as far as to switch youre phone on(house or mobile) and use it as a speaker to listen to conversations, they can also turn the camera on on youre mobile and watch the pictures...

I have linked it before, but here you go

Hindering the investigation, Breault said, was a lack of cooperation from “all” of the two missing girls’ family and friends. She wouldn’t release details on who that person or persons may be.
“It’s a roadblock,” she said.

http://wcfcourier.com/news/evansdal...cle_507d9bca-d2b1-11e1-8f0b-0019bb2963f4.html

Thank you for the link. What I am seeing at the link is a reporter's interpretation of statements made by Ms. Breault. I do not see a specific question posed nor do I see her specific answer to the question. Merely someone's paraphrasing of a statement or statements made by Ms. Breault.

I was hoping for a direct quote, not a journalists interpretation.

I do very much appreciate you finding the link however. I know that took effort and I did not ask lightly. MY apologies if you have linked this before but I have been absent since last Wednesday and therefore, may have missed it if this was discussed at that time.

ETA I did find a somewhat more direct quote and I find it can be interpreted in several ways.

FBI spokeswoman Sandy Breault told ABC News: 'Law enforcement has not received total cooperation from all family and close friends. We feel there's someone out there that has pertinent information about the girls' whereabouts.'

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...zabeth-Collins-cooperating.html#ixzz228naqztG

To me, the above reads as if they have not received total cooperation from each and every family member and friend (implying some or at least one are/is less cooperative than others). I do not read this as her saying not one single family member or friend has given total cooperation. Follow my hair splitting?

Question - when MCM and DM went to the hotel/casino that night, I know Tammy was also there with them (at least I am sure I remember reading that!) - but was WC there? Was anyone else with them?

  • #194
Evidence they are alive, could it be that they had directions they were following on paper? Family member IF involved didn't want the kids going straight to the lake, but end up there. Wouldn't look so suspicious when TB says go to the lake? Paper was found? Leaves reason to believe girls are alive. JMO

This is pure speculation because the answers to these very good questions are not known.

MCM and Lyric had been living with MCM's mom WC in Waterloo for a bit. This, I believe, is because of MCM and DM's separation and marital troubles. She and Lyric reside in WC's home in Waterloo and DM resides in his own mother's home in Waterloo as well.

TB also resides in Waterloo I think. We know that 4 days prior to the abduction Lyric and a cousin TB's daughter (reportedly 11) played together in Waterloo.

H and D Collins, Elizabeth's parents reside in Evansdale where the abduction took place.

MOO - no links no facts. Lyric played around the neighborhood in Waterloo with various adults supervising from day to day. Sometimes gramma, sometimes mom, sometimes Aunt T. I also believe that she may have accompanied her gramma to Aunt H's house in Evansdale on occasion when gramma was driving over there to assist H.

MCM said that she took Lyric swimming every day for 5 or 6 weeks before she started her job. Lyric learned how to do back flips.

Cook said Lyric knew she had to return home shortly because Lyric and Cook planned to leave for the home they shared in nearby Waterloo with Lyric's mother, Misty Morrissey, by 1:30 p.m.

snipped

Cook said she got nervous when they weren't back by 12:30 p.m. and started driving around town looking for them. After an hour of searching, she returned to the home. Cook said that Misty Morrissey stopped by after getting off work.
"Misty said, `Mom, you go home and I'll just wait for Lyric and bring her home," Cook recalled.

Cook said she drove to her home but was soon told by Elizabeth's father the girls hadn't surfaced. A firefighter found the bikes two hours later, and the manhunt began.

Ahh...but that is not what they actually said. Misty said her mother called her at work at 2:00 to tell her she couldn't find Lyric. It is in one of the very first interviews and then she came home..meanwhile WC was in Waterloo with Tammy...MOO Of course, that story has considerably morphed..MOO

SNARK, MUCH? ed

Cook said "it's possible" her son-in-law made an enemy through his cooperation with police, and she said investigators are scrutinizing Morrissey's associates as they search for the girls. He recently met with them to allow them to go through all the contacts in his phone, Cook said.

Thank you! So we know that at least a portion of Lyric's days prior to mom starting at the Casey's were spent swimming daily.
