So I'm guessing the lake is just used for fishing and boating, but doesn't have a beach area like a lot of lakes around here (not counting the myriad of reservoirs).

That was the impression I got from earlier posts by the locals. That it used to be a swimming lake and might've had a beach, but now it's full of leeches and not a good place to swim. I'm trying to find it but I think Ollipop posted a pic of the sign near the lake that said it wasn't for swimming.

Do any of the locals know the nature of the road construction going on there that day? Also, while bill warner discusses all the petite blond women missing in areas of road paving projects, he notes that 'all the dates when the six petite women go missing have a 3 in it, like the 3rd, the 13th, the 23rd and the 30th, also the 3rd and the 13th are repeated twice, very odd?'

The girls were abducted on the 13th.

someone local to the area and passingly acquainted with one or both girls might stage the scene to appear as something else therefore, buying them more time to evade discovery.

My own feelings are not hopeful that the girls are alive. I pray I am mistaken but if, as I suspect, this was unrelated to parents histories and more a pedophile sex offense type motivated crime, odds of them being alive are just not as good in my opinion.

BBM I agree

i don't have time to go back and look, but I'm certain a pool wasn't mentioned and that it wasn't Meyers lake, which is, indeed, muddy and leechy.

IIRC, Misty said they had been spending a lot of time at a lake called George Wyth. {Not sure if I got the name right - if not, hopefully a local can correct me!}

MISTY COOK-MORRISSEY,

We have spent the last six weeks at lake swimming, (INAUDIBLE) Lake, we`ve gone to Bern`s Pool a lot. So we`ve been swimming, I mean, almost daily for the last six weeks. Yeah, but can kids keep their mouths shut? If they were to tell a friend, that friend may tell their own parents. I mean, my stepson, when he was younger, took a bike that was lying near a playground. His defense was that he "found" it. His friend who he had either told or who was with him had the sense to tell his parents ... and the parents told my stepson's mother.

Well think of it a second!

I think they would be to afraid to tell anyone after they drained a lake and the FBI is called in.

I was hoping this case would not join the "unresolved in limbo" status as are those of Lisa Irwin and Isabel Celis. But today I feel this will be a long drawn out situation.

I just don't understand how children can disappear this way and remain unfound. It's an epidemic and so very sad. :(

I so intensely get your feelings that I felt this warranted more than a 'thanks.' At some point each day, this frustrating mystery of our missing children hits me. Hard.

The scent was found by the water too. Does anyone know if it was near where the bikes were found?I ask because i have this feeling that they were running back to their bikes and someone grabbed them. That would explain why the purse was on the other side of the fence. IF the perp didn't throw it. The purse was more of a backpack on Elizabeths shoulders as i understand.

That description of the purse is what I was picturing but I never saw any confirmation of what type of purse it was or what it looked like. Did you see something that described it? (no worries if you can't post the link here I'm just curious as to what you read/saw)

Wouldnt there be fingerprints on the purse if a stranger had tossed it?

Thanks for finding that! I'm not crazy.. well maybe but at least not on this point. Sounds like they were mostly at lakes but also at pools sometimes. I just realized I remembered the pools thing because someone was asking if a chlorinated pool would throw off a dog's scent trail.

I just heard purple, believe from Gma, but nothing of it's size, shape, or what kind of material.

Tammy and Misty took their daughters swimming at a public pool nearly every day since Misty's release on May 30. I forget the name of the pool, but it has been mentioned in interviews.

You'd think, right? This makes me wonder if all the fingerprints found on the purse were prints that were expected to be on it like her family's fingerprints.

Maybe it is a fabric purse?

I was raised Southern Baptist and this sounds like what I heard, so it doesn't strike me as strange. Prayers centered on "God's Will" were normal. I remember lots of 'catch-phrases' which people seemed to throw out while they were thinking was to say next. Just my opinion, of course.

In a situation like this, I imagine my own father would have said "Lord God, if it be thy will bring **** home. Thy will be done."

I too think these parents are doing their best to cope with the situation. Their children are missing. I'm sure that they were full of hope for the first few hours and days that they were missing, hoping for the best, preparing for the worst. When the lake was being drained, they were probably trying to prepare mentally for the possibility that their children had accidentally drowned. After that possibility was eliminated, they had to face the horror that their children were in the hands of someone evil. At this point, they are most likely very slowly adjusting to the realization that time is running out, or has run out, for their children. I can't imagine how devastated they must feel, but I wouldn't blame them if they turned to the only crutch they may know: drug use. It doesn't help, but it may help them avoid the pain they feel. To say that it is in God's hands tells us that they feel completely helpless to do anything to help their children. I'm sure that they are completely crushed and in survival mode themselves.
