This is how I read that. . .

TB is in the parking lot asking if anybody saw the girls and describing the bikes. The runner comes forward (or is approached by TB) and he says, "Yes, I saw them(meaning he saw the bikes) going that way (East)." Remember at that point, it was just someone asking about the girls, and I don't think anybody had the forethought that this was going to turn into an abduction case. I think when this runner talked to LE the details were clarified. . .he had seen the bikes and assumed the girls were there somewhere by the bikes.

Thank you hambirg! :)

It could be that the playground monitors have been trained to stay with the children, no matter what.

My mom was a volunteer at an elementary school for over 35 years and she said that was what they taught at that school. That no matter what a monitor or chaperone saw, their primary responsibility was to stay with the children, no matter what. If there was an emergency that the monitor could not handle on their own, they were supposed to send two older children into the school together to get help.

There was a situation where there was a car fire down the hill from the school and one of the two monitors got in trouble because she left the playground to call 911 herself. She meant well but she was abandoning her primary responsibility.

Thank you so much for your post you had so much insight! I hope by that mistake, it was such a learning tool to others that worked there.
Thank you for being here!

I cannot believe how many times there has been so many attempted abductions in Iowa with a white van, man in his 60's.

Just thinking out load here....

There is a RSO who is UN accounted for in Iowa, actually Evansdale that is "older" and I wonder if LE might think that this is possible him....?

However, they can't catch him because he is UN accounted for... aka, they don't have an address...

Usually on the RSO websites you can see if someone is un accounted for.

Matter of Fact I have had my eye on a couple of these "UN-Accounted for" RSO in Iowa,

But because they have NOT been named a POI or a Suspect I will not discus it here per WS's TOS...

P.S. I hate the naughty chair...

On the Iowa RSO site for Iowa it doesn't show what kinda vehicle the rso drives. I wish it did, and it should.

Thank you very kind.

It is in "clashing" theories that you learn the most.

It forces you to think in different ways.

Sapphire...I like it! ^^^^^^

Welcome back:woohoo:

One of the first things I learned in a college journalism course was just how unobservant we are, even when we think we are paying attention. This lesson involved having someone run into the classroom, grab the instructor's briefcase, and run out of the room. Versions of this exercise abound. In my class, no student correctly described the intruder. There were various descriptions of his clothes, height, physical appearance, facial hair, etc. How so many people could honestly describe the same person in such varied way has always amazed me.

With today's heightened security, this type of exercise is probably not done anymore.

I remember doing this exercise several years ago where I worked. It was amazing that not one person in a group of about 40 people got the description exactly right. Most of them never even came close.

The eyes can only take in so much in a 10 second period, and that's about how long it took for this "intruder" to run in the room, grab something and run out. I remember trying very hard to take note of every detail, but I still missed some things.

It is very possible that this runner/biker was wrong on the time or even the day. I'm a clock watcher, I like to know what time it is throughout the day, but if I was out in public, walking or whatever and noticed two children, I'm not sure that I would be able to pinpoint the exact time I saw them if asked later the same day. It takes a very observant person to remember certain details unless they know ahead of time that this circumstance would be important. My question would be, "why did you pay attention to the time of day at the moment when you saw these girls?" I think that would be a very good question for LE to have asked this person.

Really? Who is it and where is he from?

Here is the UN-Accounted for RSO in Iowa,

http://www.iowasexoffender.com/adva...>Page=1&ResultsPaging->SortOrder=DESC#Results

If you go to most wanted, then click list, then click on Tier so that all 3 tier are on top, (they are the worst) you will see a couple that look like the described "white Van guy".

Don't get hung up on last place or address that is showing because I researched the all and they are all still missing and that is ONLY the last Known address..

*I am not naming anyone..*.

*Due to me hating the naughty chair... aka Time out...

I agree. Considering LE has never acknowledged any witness seeing the girls after 12:15, I tend to read this person as the same one Breault referred to in "“There was a gentleman who regularly runs around the lake. He didn’t see either one of the girls ... but he did see their bikes and he was able to pinpoint the time of the day that he saw the bikes. Small details like this are really important to the investigation,” she said."
The "east" part was probably simply in an easterly direction from the westerly access from the park, imho.
In the CNN transcript from July 16th, there is a part where Daniel Morrissey stated he was told the bikes were FACING west when they were found.

This may be a stupid question, but... if he saw the bikes going east and remembers the time... then how come he didn't see the girls? Were the bikes going along by themselves?? Or is he just saying he didn't see who was riding the bikes? This should be pretty simple to figure out. Someone had to be riding the bikes for them to be 'going east' so is it a possibility that someone else was riding them to the spot where they were eventually found? Or would that be in a different direction? IDK, just trying to make some sense of it.

BBM

And even when people know they are going to be tested on what they observed, it is normal for the person to get important details wrong.

Elizabeth Loftus has done a lot of experiments where she shows subjects videotape and then has the subject describe what they saw. The subject knows ahead of time they are going to be asked to describe what they saw.

Additionally, Elizabeth Loftus's research shows that very minor changes in wording by the person asking the subject about what they saw can significantly change the subject's recall.

I know... and other places too. I'm not out and about all that often anymore, but every time I go somewhere, I see a LOT of white vans with no side windows, and I always wonder about the possibility someone is tied up inside. Crazy, huh... but the number of people gone missing these days is frightening! And it seems like these perverts are getting bolder by the minute.

It's possible that he meant that the bicycles were pointed east on the trail.

I know if I saw two bicycles that were pointed in one direction on an enclosed trail, I would simply assume that the riders had left them pointing in the direction they were riding. Not that it is so difficult to turn a bicycle around but I think most of the time, a rider wouldn't bother with turning it around.

Well if the jogger said he saw "the Bikes going east on the trail" and not the girls, I would think Tammy would have gone to that location to see the bikes....

I personally think he said he thinks he saw the girls on the bikes.

And LE have this information and are keeping him and his information safe to preserve the case for trial and perhaps the girls safety also.
