This probably was posted back when, but I thought it might be relevant at this point. It describes two attempted abductions around July 26th in the area where the person discussed above seemed to be located around that time.

http://whotv.com/2012/07/26/attempted-abduction-colo-girl-escapes/

Perhaps unrelated, perhaps not. MOO

It is to Bad they don't have a really good sketch artist go to all these Attempted Abductions and see if this is the same Guy in all these cases...

They are two different crimes.

The succesful abduction was incredibly well planned, to the point that no one saw or heard a thing.

The unsuccessful attempts were just that - clumsy, "alleged", witnesses, failed.

The first indicates an organised perp. The others indicate a disorganised perp...if indeed they happened at all.

There was a rash of reported "attempts" a few weeks ago most of which were misunderstandings.

People are on high alert in Iowa, who can blame them.

I have a theory that right after they were seen on the cctv camera between 12:11-12:19, they were "abducted" into a vehicle that could transport the bikes. The bikes were taken to the lake and left there in the trail and the purse placed on the lakeside of the fence. The girls were subsequently seen with the abductor(s) on video at 12:30 somewhere...perhaps a local convenience store. They were taken out of the area and may, indeed, be alive...depending, of course, on who abducted them. MOO

Then LE would not have stated they were seen riding their bikes at 12:30, they would state they had been spotted on surveillance video at a convenience store.
I feel pretty strongly that if they had been spotted at a convenience store with their abductors, LE would have figured out who the abductor was and found the girls by now. They have caught bank robbers from surveillance videos before.
I am guessing that the discrepancy in time is just to round it off, possibly to allow a little leeway between when Gma saw them and when they were seen on the store video early on that we've all seen.

Not snarking - I promise - but I don't remember LE saying they were seen riding their bikes at 12:30. I've seen it in MSM but not as a direct quote.

You're probably right. But I feel the article reads like the 12:30 sighting is confirmed, since it doesn't say the girls were seen "around" 12:30.

That is why I wonder if the girls were possibly seen on a time-stamped surveillance video from a bank or other business. That would be after being captured on the auction house CCTV camera.

I can see MSM rounding the time off a little, but 15 minutes is a pretty big "rounding off". JMO

  • #806
They may very well suspect or even know who the abductor is but not where the girls are or were taken. They could be watching, listening, tailing, and be waiting for the abductor to do something that will lead them to the location. MOO

I agree!!

Especially Seeing how a child can be abducted in less that 2 minutes...

Just Saying...................

Right, which is why I've been questioning the 12:30 time cited in the article I posted. Where did that 12:30 time come from? Did the reporter just make it up? Did he/she just round 12:15 up to 12:30? It is probably a mistake, but if it isn't, where the heck did they get that info? Not from LE, IMO.

On Friday, July 13, 2012, Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook went for a bike ride in their hometown of Evansdale, Iowa, a small town that borders the eastern side of Waterloo, Iowa. The girls were seen riding their bikes at 12:30 p.m. that day. At approximately 2:00 p.m., their bikes were found near a gate on the trail that goes around Meyers Lake. Elizabeth and Lyric are still missing.

This is not a "reporter" it is an official from DCI, so I tend to believe this is a fact. How the sighting occurred is not disclosed, but I am convinced that it is a real, verified sighting, and not just a rounded out time, or a reporter being sloppy.

JMHO...

Dang. Now I'm even more confused than normal. Because this not only mentions a 12:30 sighting but that the bikes were found at 2 PM.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You're right, the 12:30 time was given by DCI and later reported in MSM. But the 12:30 sighting is not mentioned anywhere by LE or FBI, to my knowledge. LE has maintained the last sighting was at about 12:15. So who gave DCI the 12:30 time, which was later reported by MSM?

Obviously we don't know everything LE knows, but the time the girls were last seen is important. That 15 minute difference could be very important, IMO, and I'd like to know why DCI is using the 12:30 time.
