MISTY COOK-MORRISSEY, MOTHER OF MISSING GIRL: I was getting off work at 2:00. My mom gave a call on the cell phone to let me know, the girls haven't been back from their bike ride. Why don't you drive right over here and we'll continue to look for them.

My mom had some plans for the night so I drove over. We looked for them, couldn't find them, went to the police station. When the police found the bikes, that's kind of when it got serious and we realized it was more than just them off playing.

Thank you, all this time I thought she left work early, though now, doesn't that now give us two stories as to what Wylm had done? I thought she left for Waterloo and reeturned when someone (Drew?) told her to come back?

It would make your posts more credible, in my opinion. So if I were you I would. Welcome to Websleuths, by the way.

I thought they were both covered by Black Hawk County Police?

:waitasec:

BBM Same question I asked in the first threads (I never did get an answer either.)

Waterloo and evansdale are both covered by black hawk county sheriffs department but each has their own olive department as fas as I know, the sheriff would not have responded to either call, it would have been the local pd.

Just for my clarification, didn't Ollipop say back in a previous thread during the summer that Meyers Lake was enlarged due to borrowing for 380/20, but was there beforehand as a smaller natural lake?

They were doing work on the interstate all summer but it never included Meyers lake. The lake has been the same since they borrowed to create it when 380 was constructed initially. It was not a lake before 380.

I believe some of these times were thrown out there by media to see if other people can confirm if they were other people in those places at that time and saw the same thing.maybe those times are people not sure it was them but it could have been .

<bold by me>

These are times provided by the investigators ... not times thrown out there by media.

"Rick Abben, chief deputy at the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, said in a statement Thursday. “Both girls were last seen on July 13 at 12:15 p.m. riding their bicycles away from the Collins residence in Evansdale. We have information that the girls were seen approximately 12:23 p.m. on Brovan Blvd. and between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. on Gilbert DR. in the area of Meyers Lake in Evansdale.

...

“Law enforcement is asking for anyone that was in the Arbutus Ave. or Gilbert Dr. and Elmer Ave. areas or anywhere in Evansdale on that day that may have seen the girls to notify us,” he said.”

Someone posted historical aerial views from decades ago and I thought there was a lake there early and the lake area had changed.....but now I'm not sure.:waitasec: Ollipop or Otto posted them. Otto would know either way and could prolly post the photos again.l

We were sleuthing Maiden Lane...which was a road at one time.

 Concerning PADDLEBOATS, my recollection is fuzzy,,,,,,but I vaguely recall discussing paddleboats only in the context of their possibly being involved in this crime.

It was when we saw one or two paddleboats docked on Meyers Lake in Google Map photos.

I thought they had said it was dug for 380. I can't be sure then, it was before I can remember or before I was born but I know it wasn't altered this past summer at all.

LE started the paddleboat discussion when asking the paddleboater or if anyone knew of him/her to call in to LE. It's never been stated who mentioned the paddleboater to LE...??? Maybe the kid fishing who had been there a long time? ?

I dont remember them saying 2pm for the jogger. The FBI spokesperson said this in a news conference i remember this because i felt she meant bicyclist, but dont recall her saying 2pm

FBI have said that there is a gentleman that regularly runs around the lake that was able to pinpoint the time that the bikes were at the gate, they have also said that the bikes were seen at the gate at 2:00. Investigators have also said that the girls were seen riding their bikes at 12:30.

"[FBI] Breault said they are looking for anyone who might have been at the park, on the trails or on the water. Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook-Morrissey disappeared July 13.

“There was a gentleman who regularly runs around the lake. He didn’t see either one of the girls ... but he did see their bikes and he was able to pinpoint the time of the day that he saw the bikes. Small details like this are really important to the investigation,” she said." (link)

Off topic here, but was just wondering...

Were Dan's "partners in crime" ever sentenced? I know the male was arrested on 11/16/12, but never heard anything more.

Now the wording on that poster is confusing to me...maybe it's semantics but the way it's worded it makes me think that the 12:30 time almost sounds like the last time Wylma saw them.:banghead:

If you run the first two sentences in the same thought versus separating the two it sounds to me like that is just a little less descriptive on the exact time Grandma saw them last.

What is the date on that report/poster created? Possibly before the last confirmed sighting changed to 12:15 for Grandma and 12:19 on CCTV? If not...we now have to add 12:30 confirmed sighting to the mix too? :banghead:

That should help us distinguish what times LE is publishing in MSM and what they are telling people privy to insider info.:rocker:

Could the jogger pinpointing a time, and they were also seen at 2pm be two different things. And the jogger being mistaken as a cyclist that rides around the lake regularly. Thats how i took it cause i havent heard of a jogger finding the bikes, you can correct me if I am wrong
