As for the hog, he probably thought he was wanted for questioning simply because he "was a hog driving a paddleboat."

Yep, that's my point...the effectiveness of the signs. I don't think this makes these children any more safe than the day before the sign was there.

I think the signs are for humiliation purposes, kinda like making male inmates wear pink boxers.

I tend to agree with you, 3CK.

Recent research has seemed to indicate that the vast majority of sex offenders do not repeat. It doesn't make their initial crime any less heinous but it does mean that a great deal of the effort going to protect the public is being turned to places where it's not helping a lot. Maybe more of the effort and money could go to trying to figure out how to identify the ones who are likely to reoffend? I dunno. But it seems like most of this stuff with registries and addresses and public lists is not doing anything to make our kids safer.

I've always heard/read just the opposite.

Yes, I think they could have walked along the waters edge, but it does not look like a good place to walk with flip-flops. Hard to imagine the girls wanting to walk there unless they had seen something they wanted to get a closer look at, or the perp marched them that way with a gun to one of their heads or a knife to one of their throats...

OT: But anybody watch Zero Dark Thirty! It was a woman who never gave up that essentially FOUND OBL. She was amazing! There was one torture scene where they humiliated a prisoner and it wasn't making him wear pink boxers. Like you said yesterday cinder - the power of the V!! :woohoo:

I think a horse ride for girls Elizabeth and Lyric's age would have been impossible to resist! So, you're thinking he targeted both of the girls. From the article that B4IGO4IT posted, it says pedophiles may be grooming several children at once and even in a sexual relationship with a child, like Sandusky.

I am a victim of this gross action at least four times in my life .My sister was also my Father's drunken frirend's we had to beware of any time theycame to our home. Stranger's parked in car's in Boston tried to abducted me . I told him I had to get a jacket and would be right back I ran to My home and told my Mother she ran so fast she almost caught up to his car .Trust me he was moving so was my Mom . We just never know where or when these predators appear we just have to train our kid's to be aware they are out there all over .They really are always around ! just talk to your children warn them of these things's and stay alert to the action's to all close friend's of your family's Boston in the city was tough for little girl's Pat

I think that what we have to realize is that the people that are organizing the memorial are looking for volunteers to complete all aspects of the project. Detailed plans with schedules and budgets take time, professional skills and usually a lot of money. You seem very knowledgeable about horticulture. I'm wondering ... if you were to make decisions about the best plants for the Island ... what choices would you make and which plants would you locate together based on ensuring optimal plant strength and growth? What root types do you think would ensure minimum erosion: coniferous or deciduous?

If you missed it, I did too. Personally, I feel that the only indication that would lead anyone to believe sexual predator is the fact that Drew is SO adamant about updating the registry, making harsher penalties for sex offenders etc. Yet, when asked, he says that LE has given him NO indication that a sexual predator is involved.

Kinda strange if you ask me.
