Dan is incarcerated after pleading guilty on existing charges and faces new charges for additional manufacturing and useage. I doubt he can be in the media spotlight supporting the memorial. I don't believe Misty has been seen or heard from since being released from her stint at being incarcerated and released January 30th after what, a 2-3 month stint? I would imagine 72+ year old Wylma tries to make it through the days and painful nights clinging to Lyric's Teddy bear in the bed they used to share. I forget now the point you are trying to make?
Yes, I'm well aware of the fact that Dan can no longer be involved or in the spotlight due to his incarceration.
My point was that I'm not surprised that the "troubled" side of the family isn't involved in all the fundraising and public spotlight of making a shrine out of Evansdale. They appeared to be the side of the family who was on a manhunt to find out who did this to these children...and now that they've been found killed, they are no longer interested in fundraising. At the time, the funds were being used for searches, feeding volunteers, posters, events to keep awareness of the girls being missing.
And your point of the fact that Wylma tries to make it through the painful days and nights by clinging to Lyric's teddy bear is EXACTLY how I would expect a love one to react. Not renovating an entire city park into a shrine, not organizing a concert to bring in MORE money, etc.
Marilyn's point was that she was a bit surprised this wasn't an "entire family" event (the park renovation) and my point is that IMO the "other" side of the family was taking action at a critical time, not taking action in the aftermath...that is all.
