Being a photographer I have looked up the rules regarding taking photographs a few years ago. From what I have read you are able to take photos of whatever you want from public areas. You can even take photos of a private residence as long as YOU are on public land. The private resident can ask you to stop and that is still up to you. Law enforcement can ask you to stop, but it is still within your rights to take the photos. That's why law enforcement set up barricades on roads or cover crash scenes with tarps or blankets. If you are in a business the owner can tell you to stop and you should stop out of respect. If you don't stop they can call law enforcement.

All bets are off when it comes to restricted areas even though they may be visible from public property... think Area 51 and certain military-related installations, etc... verboten.

In general, if you can see something from public property, you may photograph it. You might not be permitted to use photographs that include logos/signs for businesses for commercial purposes unrelated to and not authorized by the business. People are expected to realize when they are seen in public or visible to public areas they waive any rights to privacy... except if the photographs will be used for commercial purpose. In that case, release form is the rule of the day.

Do more veteran members have any knowledge of cases where LE held off arresting a POI hoping they would lead them to the remains of the missing person? I only ask because I speculate that once a person is charged with homicide that they must give them a public defender who will immediately tell their client to stop talking, and with no body it's very hard to get a conviction.. just my random musings as we sit here wishing we knew where Molly was.

Seems like they did that with the Susan Smith case. They didn't buy her story from day one.

This is so frustrating. There are so few facts, you would think MSM could get it right. Was it 8 or 9pm? Were the pants black or khaki? Was it shorts or yoga pants? Was it a pink sports bra or a black one?

There are so many discrepancies, we can't depend on any of it.

Are media getting different accounts from different folks?

Did I hear that one media story today right? FITBIT or APPLE may not have provided all the information immediately to LE because they store different information in different places?

Someone HELP! I want to really understand.

What does an MSM mean? Is there a thread containing websleuth lingo? I’m a rather young 20-something and I’m a part of many forums but I keep wracking my brains seeing all of the initials on the site. I even have tried googling some of these initials and acronyms. I’ve been able to gather that LE and PC mean “law enforcement” and “press conference” and NOT someone’s first & last name, at least.

Websleuths Lingo

You bet, we’ll plan it out and give you a comprehensive tour.

This is a great idea! FWIW for your safety and anonymity please keep private the day and time that you will be doing this.
If anyone wants to take pics/film the route I mentioned earlier in this thread it could also be informative, and much appreciated.

If so confident nothing will be found there, maybe it's because he knows where she was put (no accusation, speculation only)...

That's an accusation.

I'm trying to remember something that was said about the camera at the electric co-op. Did someone say it was out, and if so, was that a problem that occurred recently?

This case is so incredibly bizarre.

Also, normally I am an extreme pessimist about any type of missing person case (even the cases that turn out okay). However, there is something about this case that makes me unable to shake the idea of MT have a not insignificant chance of being alive. I have been combing over what is known about this case again and again to try determine what facts or constellation of facts is giving my intuition that signal. Anybody else feel that way about this case? Maybe it's just the lack of information we are receiving and that so many things don't add up (at least not yet).

MSM is mainstream media, like CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc. Don't feel too bad, I was on here for a full year and couldn't understand why people would moo at the end of their posts, so I did it too. I thought it was like saying 10-4 on a cb radio, so I mooed like a cow at the end of every post. Then one day I asked why people mooed at the end their posts. Let's just say there was a flurry of acronyms: LOL, ROFL, and ROFLPIMP. I waited another year before asking what those meant.

I am in total agreement with your thinking. Take that thought, and take it just one step farther
And a second step too.

What is between the lines? I have to subscribe to access it but I don't want to deal with all that for one article! (I probably should. The only way they're making money these days).

I don't understand why these dudes are talking to the media at all. Talk to LE. Everyone interviewed by the media in this case has immediately opened themselves up to scrutiny and allegations.

I don't want the government to be able to track me. We should have a right to anonymity.

Yeah but that's you. One person. Most young men don't pay attention to details like that. Especially in this era where kids exchange hundreds of texts as snaps and Instagram posts per day. And this particular kid wasn't into social media.

I think he got the impression of lamplight and interior walls but mostly just saw her face.

I keep thinking the most logical thing is she got grabbed while jogging (everything that was missing points to that) but really a lot of stuff points to her having made it home. Like a snap that maybe been sent later. And the fact that people say she didn't jog after dark. Ever.

And unconfirmed statements that she made it home safely and was doing homework.

The fact that he didn't see the snap until 10 indicates to me that it may have been sent later, as well as his statements that he knew it was taken inside. He would know if it was daylight in the photo.

Welcome!

I want to point out to all those who think that pigs leave nothing behind, poor little Adrian Jones' remains were found.

My bet is nothing substantive will be given. But maybe something new that's minor.
Dusk in Iowa isn't until 8:52, so she had 82 minutes to do her full jog in the light, nearly twice the time of her normal jog. I do think she was grabbed while jogging. It doesn't make any sense for her to meet someone she only barely knows when she's all sweaty in her jogging clothes.

OK I think I may have busted a gut! Thank you for the laughs! Comedic relief is a good break from the stress of this case.

Yup and military installations and whatnot have signs posted with the codes.

could a body be buried in grain in one of these bins? would that reduce detectable odor? do they even have grain in them this time of year?

Most of them would be empty this time of year. And burying a body in a full bin wouldn't work very well anyway. You can't enter the side door because it's full, and climbing in from the top to bury the body would put you at risk of getting buried yourself. Not to mention the hassle of dragging a body up the ladder to the top.

Very interested to see everyone’s thoughts on the presser being rescheduled. I’m hoping they’re onto something big and don’t want to give anything away.

Have there been other cases where this has happened back to back? What ended up being the reason?

I can remember press conferences that were rescheduled because expected lab results weren't back on time.

He should be nervous he’s a convicted stalker. He has a pattern even if a wife, girlfriends, ex girlfriends or someone he’s attracted to it’s a pattern it didn’t just happen one time he has multiple stalking convictions. I don’t understand why people here are just lightly treading over this. I think this is a big deal that and this is where Fitbit data (in the cloud) shows Mollies last location. Last night on CNN was reported he’s now been interviewed 5x. An LE officer guest on HLN show yesterday said WC getting more suspicious as time goes on.
Shouldn't they also be looking to the actual owners of the farm and any employees there?

This seems logical. The obvious question is what are they testing?
