Hi behind as usual but wanted to reply to this post from FHG:

(I’m not seeing a way to link the exact post, only the page?)

Yes, ye, you just reminded me of a specific post Foxy made. About predators hanging out in certain locations...schools...gah it was soooo eloquent I have to find it bc my paraphrasing will not do it justice.

“Theres a reason for the seasons”...
-Foxfire

Looking for this post...hope I can stay on task and not get distracted.

There you are, Magz.

Thanks, will check it out.

Excatly, why Summer? Why there?

You're right. Foxfire was great, eloquent and wise at putting things in context.

When was she asked if she needed a ride? Morning of or night before. If she was expected to pick the car up would that not have been alert or an assumption that would inquire some form of affirmation?. Are things like this generally not covered ahead of time instead of the morning of? Other may no these answers and I cannot literally pour through all the posts so sorry if this is covered but... why and why not is what I keep asking.
Her brother texted her in the morning to ask if she needed a ride and there was no response.

But if the truck stop and car wash are on there because they have cameras, why would LE need to speak with folks who were in those areas during that timeframe? Theoretically, cameras would had caught much of any activity unless of course suspicious activity was seen I guess.

The cameras at car washes are garbage... They are installed too close to the most and are always covered with condensation and/or hard water stains ...

I think that's a natural reaction too. I think there are many completely reasonable natural reactions that will be guided by your personal past experience, your knowledge, and your physical (and mental) reaction speeds.

I'm being really depressing tonight, I need Otto to come tell me to get back on track.

Get back on track! I've been quite down too looking at how the first 48 hrs of this case went and realizing that its possible that even the vast resources of FBI might not be able to get this train back on track and find MT. I think too much time has passed with no POI. Asking people 3 weeks after the fact what they saw seems like the Hail Mary Pass to Nowhere IMO. I'm trying to tell myself to get back on track but I don't think its possible at this point absent someone coming forward who is privy to a deep dark secret.

I don't think this will help with anything, and may make matters worse, but that's how I roll some days. I keep reading about all the things someone did differently on the 18th or 19th, changes made, who missed work, etc., etc. Now I'm finding myself thinking, if he's a real jerk, or somewhat experienced at this, maybe even the way many think of psychopaths, why would he bother changing anything? If he normally gets off work by 5 pm, lives alone, doesn't have m/any close friends, drives through Brooklyn regularly (or lives or works there), doesn't have an orderly schedule he lives by and little to no conscience, he could easily grab her (or another girl) after work or in the early evening, do whatever he wants to do, get rid of evidence, go home, get up in the morning and be to work on time the next day. If she did fight back enough to cause any wounds, he'd have plenty of time to come up with an excuse. Of course, if he never socialized, it's possible nobody would even bother asking him about them.

Sorry. I'm not giving up on her, but sometimes these cases can be really frustrating along with all the other things they are. MOO

My point about 911 is what you think is coming and your head plan about how you'll deal with it is not always how it appears and/or not the choices you have. I would never say we can't or shouldn't be prepared. I'm not talking about freedom of expression vs self-defense skills or being cool vs learning basic survival awareness or ideals of freedom. I'm definitely not saying there are no predators. In fact I'm saying that a predator, not a miffed admirer or jogger watcher, is likely who got her.

We're picturing in our heads what happened and coming up with a relatively simple list of what to do and what she could have done. That's very different than being abducted and having that actual fight. We don't know what Mollie should have or could have done. What we likely can reason is that any fight she put up didn't get her back home. That's not a statement that fighting is futile. It's a statement that he knew what he was going to do in a situation where she had no idea it was coming until it did.
Well considering we have zero information about what did happen, it's pretty useless to list what she could have done or not done. JMO. I was just pointing out that every interview her father has stressed that she is smart, a fighter, and would try to get home. And if she went with someone she knows, and it was a mistake, she would do the same. I would think her family would know.

There’s always blind spots, and not all cameras produce great quality picture.
Right. And from what I can tell does offer some ability of distance they are downward point camras and the further out you go the less detail. The cams are generally set up as a direct watch to deter vandalism and to avoid any lawsuit, but could possibly catch a vehicle

Thank you Msbetsy! I wasn't aware who exactly asked. But I guess as back up it makes perfect sense!

I’ve used a Fitbit for 4 years, I use it to track my sleep, steps, running routes, weight, heart rate. It stores a lot of good data on your activity (or lack of activity) and honestly I can see its data as being really helpful in matters like this.

I really do wonder how much LE knows merely from the Fitbit data.
Great article; I added it to the media thread. I have been using a Fitbit for 4 months, but I have a different model than Mollie had and even with the same model, people use their devices in different ways. Some share workout data with Fitbit friends or on Facebook, for example. So we can't know for sure what LE might get from Mollie's Fitbit data, IMHO.

Maybe a suspicious purchase made, along with camera footage, or suspicious loitering, building their case, etc. Even with clear pictures LE might still have questions.

No way ... Tarps and moving blankets would have been purchased at Harbor Freight ages ago... Even if digging a grave in the middle of a corn field would be easy... Soft soil, dig deep enough and it won't be tilled next season...

People continue to underestimate the depravity of mankind ...
