I am very heavy in the camp someone had aces to her PC. I know for a fact Team VIewer can be used on a pc without the other party knowing. They just needed access to her PC. Please if you doubt me... research it! My husband used it for work all the time.

Everyone overcomplicates things Why? No one needs to try to "throw off LE". LE doesn't know who did this. Most likely the perp has done this before and refined their skills. It was a 30 second grab.

Since snapchat is not automatically deleted like people think (What Really Happens to Your Deleted Snapchat Photos), wonder if FBI have tried to trace it. Also, the digital footprint that's left on her account would show if and when she sent snapchats.
i think SC only saves a picture to their server for 30 days if the pic isn't opened...I read that in another article. So since DJ did open/see her pic I'm not sure what all is able to be done to recover it. But like rebel123 said i trust that the FBI has their techie people on this working with SC to see what can be done.

Why would someone who appears to have some practice in this deviance allow himself to be tracked for several miles with the victim's phone still active? Why not toss it at the get go?

Why not... If it's a "game" throwing out clues would be part of it. Even calling gin tips and following the story closely.

I agree that the idea that "the perp did this or that in order to throw LE off" is relatively unlikely, and hardly the simplest solution.

The first objective after abducting Mollie is get out of town. I think that was from Brooklyn to 385 ave heading East. Maybe they stopped at the top right dot where he figure out what kind of devices she had. Maybe that's a location where Mollie's heart rate spiked. He drove South to the lower left right dot. That is where he stopped the digital signature - same area as the farm searches.

The question is, where did he go next?
East or West?

I 80 and fast.

I tend to agree. The Tara Grinstead case in GA is an example. I would not necessarily call her killer organized. He supposedly broke into her house using a credit card on the lock. To the best of our knowledge he didn't bring a "kit" (handcuffs, zip ties, duct tape, etc.). He simply strangled her, left very sign of a struggle and removed her body. From all we know so far he had not killed anyone before or since. LE stated "he was never on our radar" and it took over 10 years to solve and that was after someone close to him called LE.

Have you used a credit card to get into your house before? It's fast. Faster than actually using a key as long as the deadbolt isn't locked. Same with a slicing glass door and a flat head screwdriver. No signs of forced entry either.

While reading all the posts about how she could have been abducted, and if only 1 person could do it alone or not, it occurred to me, unless I missed it, no one thought of the automobile being used as a weapon, or means of subduing her. If the location of abduction was in an area that was more secluded, he could have driven up behind her, and hit her hard enough to knock her down. This would then give him reason to make contact with her, either to forcibly get her in the vehicle, or make her think he was taking her home, or to the hospital. If someone else would have happened upon the scene, he would have had an out, he was “helping” her, not abducting her. IMO

This was discussed for pages.

It very well could of been someone who knew her.
Using the pretense your brother or Mom has been injured & needs help ASAP they sent me to get you!!!

That’s the type of scenario I would envision if this was in fact a stranger type abduction. He’d know the area, know Mollie from seeing her jogging, but she wouldn’t know him. Perhaps he envisioned a scenario like this playing out during some previous sighting, and took advantage when he had the opportunity.
Saw her jogging one night. Peaked his interest. It's *remarkably* easy to find someone on SM if you merely have the woman's first name and town, especially if they have an unusual first name, and an unusual town to go along with the unusual state.

Brooklyn Iowa. Mollie. There can only be so many women who look just like her. He narrows the Mollies in Brooklyn, Iowa down by reading her posts. Boom. This assumes no actual exchange. She could have stopped in Casey's on some day he spotted her.

They're in line, she bought Gatorade. He goes on & on about the weather, even though the line isn't long. He shakes her hand, she perceives the man as just trying to be polite to me right now. She says Cool, I'm Mollie. Have a good night.

Now that he's there- on her posts- he's quickly reading her friend's posts. The house alone. The upcoming wedding.
He's going to know a whole lot about her by the time he picks her up, isn't he?

The likely jogging route based on the spots where LE wants to get tips about has extremely isolated ones - specifically those that are right after her last known sighting. SharonNeedles' videos confirm this - it would be easy for a perp to flag MT down or at least pull their car in front of her to slow her and nobody would ever see. It's also possible she never heard the perp coming since she had her earbuds and was presumably listening to music while jogging. If I have the volume over a very low level when I jog, it's almost impossible to hear most anything around me.

If MT was taken involuntarily, I find it likely that the perp flagged or slowed her down. Possibly by asking for directions, can you help me with [X], etc. Something to get her guard temporarily down so perp could strike and she then had no time to react. MT is a very athletic girl who in theory could outrun a perp on foot or at least get far enough away to scream for help or use her cell phone. All indications are she had no time to do this.
Or point a gun at her.

What really bothers me with the points on the police map is that it looks like a circle. I just don't see somebody grabbing her and circling back to where it all happened within a two hour timeframe (8pm-10pm). I would think they would want to stay as far away from the crime scene as possible.

The only way that might make sense is if she was with someone she knew. If they're driving around together, at that point there is no crime, so there wouldn't be a need to flee.

There are lots of assumptions being made; we don't know that any harm has come to Mollie.
No we don't. And if harm has come to her we don't know in what way. We are making the assumption (some of us) that she at some point was/is being held against her will. To me it seems the most likely and logical of the various scenarios we've discussed.

It is NOT known evidence that she made it back to the house. Second hand accounts are classified as hearsay and as such will usually be inadmissible in a court of law. It’s irrelevant that LE told a witness that or not.

If a witness saw her return to the house, that would be considered direct evidence. Neither judge nor jury would have to make assumptions or draw inferences.

It is NOT known evidence that she was abducted on a jog/walk. No-one saw her being abducted, no-one heard her scream and no-one saw her being dragged unwillingly into a vehicle. There is no proof whatsoever that this happened. Assumptions aren’t evidence.

Edited to emphasize NOT for the sake of clarity.

I made no assumptions. The point of that post was to show what things indicate she made it back to the house and which things indicated she didn't. You need to look back at the conversation at that time.

ETA: There are other kinds of evidence than direct evidence, which is why I never used the term "direct evidence." By saying "known evidence" I simply meant that the information came from actual LE involved in the case and not speculation in articles.

Snapchat photos aren't stored for all eternity in a trash bin on a server somewhere out in cyberspace like an email or text message is. The image itself truly does disappear unless the receiver saves it, either manually or automatically using an app that has to be installed and activated. The media information - date, time, recipient, time viewed - is recoverable, but the image is lost unless, again, the recipient takes steps to save it. The posted article doesn't claim anything different, just point out that the images may be saved.

Perhaps it was someone who MT knew in some way who stopped her somewhere around the car wash and asked her if she needed a ride. Maybe she said she was heading towards her mom's house, and the person said they were headed in the same direction, so they gave her a lift. Maybe once MT was in the car the driver told her he wanted to show her something first or said he had a quick errand to run, and headed south. At some point he assaulted her, and then possibly tossed some of the evidence there (or it was the last place a signal from her phone was detected) before eventually heading back toward his place, which was in the direction of the north-east highlighted spot on the map. On the way back perhaps in that area he threw out some more of the evidence.

My thoughts on this are back a couple pages on 41. I don't think it was a circle at all.

It hard to believe we have reached another weekend and still no sign of Mollie.

Thanks to all of you for being here each day and to the moderators and Tricia.

Oh boy, now I will always lock my deadbolt and not just the door handle.:(

Even if her heart rate didn't go up (which I think it may), the fitbit would show a lack of movement, or at least a decrease if she was somehow bound. At the same time, her GPS would show that she was moving at a speed much faster than her running ability would allow. MOO

I agree with you on most of your beliefs on the cases, but I really don't believe that any of them was lured to where they were taken. There are so many similarities between the Girls in Evansdale and those in Delphi that it's hard to believe they aren't related, but there are some differences too. If all 3 abductions were done by the same person/people, I really hope that Mollie (with the help of Libby's video and audio) puts an end to his/their run. MOO

I was alarmed at the similarity in the victims in many abduction cases I’ve researched. All girls that look younger than their age and along or fast access to the I80 corridor.

Without additional info I’m reluctant to jump to any conclusions. All just supposition At this point.

It's not assumptions per say; LE has left a void regarding info; we have very little to go on; but stuff like ' the killer' has been mentioned.
