I initially thought SW of Brooklyn, but now I'm curious about NW of Brooklyn.
Here's the map to English River
I suspect the perp (and there is one imo) might live north/northeast/or northwest of Brooklyn, but hunts, or farms, or whatever to the southwest. Or grew up somewhere in that SW region.

I see that you edited your post with the number 5 circle instead of circle 4. So not sure which one you wanted to ask about but, Big Bear Creek is north of circle 4, just south of HWY 6. And circle 5 is quite a bit south of that area near Guernsey/Deep River.
I know! I got mixed up but you answered my question, thank you! I'm still trying to get a sense of where everything is!

North of the car wash?

Why would Mollie be at the car wash?

Looking at that map, and also pulling up a Google interactive topo map to scroll along with, I cannot find a single place between there and Highway 6 that she could have been taken without someone seeing it (or hearing a scream) at that time of evening. Virtually impossible for that to have occurred, or it was utterly brazen. And I mean BRAZEN.

That's okay. The map, and point number 5, represent significant points of interest in the disappearance of Mollie. Point 5 is where the signal "pinged". That ping area is within a couple of miles of Guernsey, where police searched farms. If I have time and can find the cell tower map again, I'll map the towers in relation to Guernsey. That might solve this mystery.

I am not going to pinpoint any of the farms that were searched near point 5 on the map.
Point 5 is where the signal allegedly pinged according to what neighbor DC claims that investigators told him. You have to wonder why investigators were so loose-lipped with this one neighbor and are so tight-lipped now.

Opportunists are brazen. They see something they want, and the goal is worth the risk. If this happened with Mollie, then my guess is that this is not the abductor's first abduction.

This is so confusing...One minute her Mom says she didn't make it home and now a neighbour says they were told she did.

It doesn't matter what neighbors were told by LE. LE uses a tactic to observe reaction and response, and that process includes telling an interviewee certain information that does not match the facts of the case. A perp might react to hearing false information and LE looks for reaction and response at those moments.

Which might make sense if you believe she got in voluntarily. Moo - She did not, which is why I think it happened close to the house. But even there you have a few neighbors. ??

This information has been posted here before, but here it is again:

"This is a new arena for us. That's part of the reason we called the FBI in. It's probably pretty new to them, too," Mitch Mortvedt, spokesman for the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, told CNN. "I don't know of another case here in Iowa where we have used specifically Fitbit info."

When her Fitbit pinged at a hog farm about 10 miles southeast of the house in Brooklyn, IA, where she was last seen, police searched the area but found nothing, Mortvedt said."

Point 5 is estimated to be that point 10 miles SE of Brooklyn that was searched.

On second thought, I confused the other side of 385th with Highway 6, and 385th is the outlet that LE is seemingly positing that the abductor took out of town. If that's the case, there is a "merge" area to 385th from Boundary Street at a "V" that looks pretty uninhabited. He could've wedged her in there, grabbed her, and continued right and East on 385th.

I was on the I80 crime thread and ran into an old case (25+ years) of Tammy Zywicki that is still on the FBI's radar that involved a student at Grinnell College who was abducted, assaulted and killed while enroute from Chicago to Iowa.

25 years after Tammy Zywicki kidnapping, murder, authorities seek new leads

If its not this case, perhaps its another case where LE sees a connection to what happened in Brooklyn with MT? Any ideas?

Given the absence of any new info from LE or the family I decided to look outside the case for possible explanations. The perp that attempted the abduction of a female jogger in Minor, MO still is at large. I believe that there might be a larger picture in the MT case that hasn't been discussed yet by LE that for whatever reason we cannot yet see.

Maybe there's a Jay (from the Adnan Syed case) or Bo Duke (Tara Grinstead) type who helped the perp dispose of the body.

Same with the Erin Corwin case. Whoever it is should step forward and ask for immunity in exchange for testimony.

so tell me if you can please. in order for her phone to ping. she had to be using it yes, then if she turned it off and went on her way back to the house the phone would not had pinged anymore because she stopped using it. Is that correct.
If she had an iPhone and had "find my phone" on, it could have been tracked that way as well.

That's an interesting question, the answer to which LE doesn't know and/or are holding close to the vest.

Could be MT was never there but then again, given that LE questioned homeowners behind and up from the D&M Car Wash might indicate they also are interested in the north/south County Highway 18 that intersects E. 2nd St (corner of the car wash)... a possible route taken after abduction occurred farther north.

I'm confused. How do we know that Point 5 is the "Digital Signature"? or why is Point 5 being identified as the "Digital Signature". So far as I have read LE hasn't released any information about anything related to the digital footprint of MT.

Or it might be that in order to subdue a victim the perp had to hit her with his vehicle and then quickly wash it. I think I recall them asking for folks to look out for altered vehicles, so they may have been thinking along these lines.

Ah, yes, I have seen that before, several times. Thank you. It makes no sense, though, because Fitbits don't ping. They communicate with an app on a phone or other device using Bluetooth technology. So if LE obtained Fitbit data, it probably came from the Fitbit app on her phone.

Very possible. I also wondered if the cameras could have captured footage of someone suspiciously waiting around within the time frame given.
