True that, but honestly, if I drove past the truck stop that evening, I might consider making the call just in case. Err on the side of caution. Son of Sam was a traffic ticket, so hey, you never know.
I for sure would call in as well! Even to say I saw nothing unusual - that may help a timeline!

I don't think that's relevant. Those devices would have been at her home, and Bluetooth has a relatively small range. If she was abducted while jogging, she wouldn't come near those other devices (unless the perp then took her to her home, but that begs the question - why would they do this?) If she was abducted while at home, her FitBit would quickly go out of range of her laptop.

That's assuming that people sync FitBits to multiple devices. I know it is possible but I do not because there is no reason to, unless you don't own a smartphone.
Paul, how far is the range between phone and fitbit? I mean before it completely loses the ability to sync?

I brought the coffee, who brought the croissants? :)

But seriously, I keep rolling around in my head why wednesday and why Mollie. Someone's window of opportunity was wednesday. Most people work during the week, so what kind of job would give someone a middle of the week off? If this is someone from a neighboring town, what kinds of activities are occurring? Could it have been someone that was a vendor for the flag thing? Someone who came into town regularly? And how did Mollie fit in to this? Did she volunteer somewhere in a neighboring town or in her own town that would have gotten the attention of someone?

Thank you for the coffee. :)

I’m not understanding all the emphasis on the fact that it was a Wednesday. There could have been someone in town collecting mail and watering plants for someone who was on vacation or someone who was in town to grab some Casey’s pizza. Who knows? The list of possibilities is almost endless and IMO, we can’t exclude this one: He was in town on Wednesday to abduct Mollie. The only thing that stands out to me as to why it happened on a Wednesday was that AH, BJ and DJ were all gone and she was there alone. Or, it’s just a huge coincidence.

Also, if Mollie disappeared Wednesday evening, how does that indicate the perp had Wednesday off? He could very well have worked that day and been on his way home.

My Fitbit doesn't shut off. I wear it day and night to track all of my activities and sleep. I take it off to shower, but accidentally showered with it twice when I first got it, and it was OK. I was charging it once every 3 days, but I did two experiments since following Mollie's case and determined that my Fitbit battery can go more than 5 full days without charging. ETA: I don't close the Fitbit app, either.
Same. The only thing noteworthy is, if she has a GPS-enabled Fitbit, it only tracks your location while you have the "run" or "bike" settings enabled. I enable them when I'm running/walking or biking outside, then I shut them off when I get home. So, she may have had those enabled during her run, which would have synced to her phone if they were on. If she had that enabled, it would have synced her exact movements (even if she was in a car) until she either disabled it or her phone was no longer near her Fitbit/off. I'm not sure if it's been determined if she had the Alta or the Charge 2. I have the Charge 2, which has GPS - from my understanding, Alta does not.

You may be onto something here..but again no one knows if there were missed opportunities the night before, or Monday, or any other day, especially if it was random and a crime of opportunity, i.e. Mollie was in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, the commonality of those who are employed and have Wednesdays free would be the medical community. Many doctors, dentists (and well as their staff) don't work and supposedly "play golf" on Wednesdays. jmo
Dentists and doctors work straight through the week nowadays. When I started working at a doctor's office and asked about getting Wednesdays off (20 years ago) the office manager laughed.

No, I believe it was November, 2017.

I don't mean the tweet but the pinning of it. That is what makes it strange to me.

what makes you think that?
I'm thinking they are referring to something else, ( since the word homicide is used) I'm looking for the original post you responded to...

Honestly I think we are more or less out of avenues and clues untill LE releases more info. Lots of good theories out there that can't be discussed any further bc of TOS violation. Im going with 2 possible scenarios at the moment:

1. MT was assulted/abducted at the home she was dog sitting, presumably by somebody in her inter
circle.

2. MT is picked up on her jog by some unkown stranger who somehow convinces her to get in his vehicle.

why would she accept a ride when the whole purpose of her being out was to go running?
That doesn't make any sense.
Why would someone even interrupt her run and ask her that?
A ride to her mother's house when she was done jogging and probably was joggin/walking there when this person saw her. I think when she got in the car, he accelerated out of there.

Thanks MsBetsy, I just followed the old post line and see that it's a response in reference to an another case. I misread the post.

Sorry, but again I am a runner. In my experience, runners don't get into cars while they are on a run. I mean.. we stink to high heavens!!! We reek! Even if she wanted to hang out with someone, she would tell them to meet her at the house when she's done.. etc. It just doesn't match what I have seen over many years.

I think she was either hit by a car, she was abducted by someone who jumped out from bushes... if she was truly running when she went missing.

Even if she twisted her ankle badly, she would not get in the car of a stranger on her own. She would call 911 if she couldn't hobble back to the house.
Maybe, maybe not... don’t be so hard on yourself, athletes don’t “reek”. I took a carload of softball girls out for treats Saturday after four games in 90 degree heat and nobody thought twice about hopping in.

Mine is about 15-30 feet.

Does anyone have any information on what areas were searched by volunteers within Brooklyn?

Reason being: There is at least one very sketchy property "block" that has many out buildings/shacks that would have potentially been on one of Mollie's running routes. It doesn't look actually abandoned in the google earth view, but there would be a lot of hiding places on that property.

Just hoping someone knows how exhaustive the searches were in Brooklyn itself

thanks in advance...
Pretty sure I know the area you're talking about. If you take a drive in the Google car you can actually see a vehicle that was parked at that property "move" onto a street that is close by and see the driver's face (although obscured a bit by the large mirror on the driver's side) both when it was parked at the property and when it is on the street close by. I'm assuming the Google car canvasses the streets in a grid pattern and that's why you see the vehicle and driver twice. It's actually pretty interesting.

Dear Justice101,

Your posts are insightful and very interesting. Greatly appreciated!

I am still stuck on the theory that someone familiar to her offered her a ride when it started to rain that evening. But what doesn't seem to work in that scenario, to me, is that how did he drive the wrong way without her becoming alarmed and kicking at a window.

Perhaps this did happen and that is why the police are asking about people who took in their vehicles for repair?

Did someone have a new window put in their vehicle because it was damaged?

You mention that perhaps someone jumped out of the bushes.

In this scenario, are you thinking that the person was just there and they took the opportunity? Or are you pondering whether that person knew Mollie's route and planned to pull her into the cornfields or somewhere?

There are many visitors during the summer staying at residences. Especially summer students home for the summer. It is possible that one of them is a sexual offender but has not been caught before. If this was the case, they could have carefully planned this.

Left their car somewhere else and waited at a spot where they knew Mollie ran because they had been watching her.

Maybe they left their bicycle somewhere or hid it in the cornfield.

My dentist actually only works 4 (long) days a week. But his day off is Fridays. My GP only recently started working all week plus Saturday.

Same for soccer players... Except for the socks....

Do you think she could have stopped at the BF’s house before going to her moms house and grabbed a work shirt and only some cash to bring to the fair because she didn't want to bring a wallet and that's why a red shirt was found and her wallet was at the BF’s house?

If Mollie did damage to the car during a struggle, wouldn't there be evidence somewhere along a roadway? With the little info we have, it's possible they found broken glass/something from a car along one of the roadways that is one of the red dots. IDK.

I have been thinking about this for a few days. I believe perp may be someone who does shift work. The 5-10PM timeline is what got me thinking this. The three shifts in factories, etc are usually 7:30-3:30(1st); 3:30-11:30(2nd); 11:30-7:30(3rd). Seems to me it could be someone who works 1st shift most likely or possibly 3rd shift. MOO

This is my first post - amazing how much information in on here! My main questions/points after reading what I could on all these threads are the pinned tweet and the snapchat text. First of all the tweet is just too much of a crazy coincidence. Has it been verified that was a police offer asking her? If no officer confirms it, I would think it was a stalker messing with her knowing exactly what he was planning and the opportunity came when the boyfriend was gone. Sorry if this has been already answered! Second the FBI asked her mom if she was "in a home" at 945pm and the boyfriend also said the text looked like she was inside. Could that be a cry for help from where she was taken? Does Snapchat have a location tracker for pictures or texts sent? I know if I post a Facebook picture my location is posted. Also the area she ran in is more residential than I expected and it seems hard to think of being snatched in town (unless of course she knew the person - but she was on a run, why would she get in a car even with someone she knew? Bad weather? Was it raining hard during her run? Did she sprain an ankle?). I would think it more likely a random kidnapping would happen on the dirt road by the house, but I guess the fitbit showed she didn't run there?
I like your point on the officer text thing, great point indeed!
