JMO if Molly made it home and for some reason decided to head out yet again as late at 9pm i.e I do not buy her not texting or calling Mom or someone to make sure car was there, food still on offer etc
Unless Mollie would typically just pick up the car “whenever” and the dinner offer was more what’s typical in my house: “we have plenty, you can eat now or it’s going in the fridge as leftovers.” Neither of those points would have raised an eyebrow with my family either.

I hope I don't make anyone angry but when I first saw a picture of Mollie I couldn't believe how much she looks like Jodi Arias! Does anyone else see the resemblance.
LOL NO! Jodi looked evil, and Mollie looks sweet! But they may have similar hair.

But couldn't you pull into the lot and wash down a semi-tractor (the part that pulls the trailer) with the high power hose? Those bays are enclosed for the hard Iowa winter, I'll bet the hoses are long enough to reach over-size equipment parked at the end of the bay.

It actually has an outside bay that would accommodate a tractor by itself with no problem. But a tractor with no trailer doesn't fit the scenario of the perp being an over-the-road trucker.

zencompass, WOW!! I didn't think of that. Maybe he was waiting in the cornfield. Maybe he hid his car somewhere else. Maybe he left MT right there hidden in the cornfield. Maybe he walked away on foot or took a bicycle back to his vehicle. Maybe he even traveled through the cornfield (on foot) to his vehicle where he wouldn't be seen. Then he went back later when it rained to take MT to another location where she wouldn't be found.
I could totally see this scenerio if there was a missing person with no specific areas of interest, but why the map of red dots all over the place? And why would LE be searching areas far to the south based on digital signals? If it was raining, the electronics would have gotten wet and most likely stopped functioning, so even her being moved wouldn't register. JMO

But if her brother is out with the car? And mind it is likely dark by now. And no messaging alone is odd to me...I mean young people text or post to announce everything imo...finished jog, going to eat now, etc...to someone.

OT...watching a show called Mayday, Brit drama about a missing teen girl. In the first minute, she is riding her bike through a small village and the camera shows every man along the way eyeballing her...yikes. Fiction but still...

Now I see what you're saying.

But the problem now is that either the car was parked along the road next to the cornfield (these roads really aren't that lightly travelled, chances are it would have been noticed if it were therefor more than a couple of minutes) where it would have been conspicuous; or that it was parked someplace where it wouldn't have attracted attention and the perp carried or dragged her to the cornfield.

It's totally possible that she was assaulted and dumped in a cornfield, but if that happened I just don't think it was anywhere near Brooklyn.

duster1979, UNLESS the perp hid his vehicle somehow and then he hid in the cornfield and waited on her. Maybe he parked his vehicle in an inconspicuous location on the other side of the cornfield where it would not be seen and then he waited in the cornfield until MT jogged by. Then he grabbed her and assaulted her or whatever and then went back to his vehicle and left her there and waited til later for when it rained to come back and hide her somewhere else where she wouldn't be found. Now I was thinking in the middle of this it would NOT make sense. It would be more plausible for him to just kidnap her from his car. I say that because waiting on her in a cornfield would leave more evidence. So forget this scenario.

Razz, the more I think about this is doesn't make sense. If the perp did this he would leave more evidence. You said him hiding in the cornfield. I would think that if he did that it is more likely LE could have found evidence in the cornfields that way. PLUS the dogs that they brought in would have picked up on his scent if he had been in the cornfields.

The more obvious problem I see is that any abduction scenario I can think of involves a vehicle getting into the residential areas unnoticed or a potential perp dragging Mollie into a vehicle - a semi truck is almost impossible for either situation.

Say he lives in Brooklyn. Nothing is that far away that you can't walk. Maybe he left his car in his driveway and walked to her house. And dragged her somewhere in the cornfields. Took her Fit bit, phone walked back home or wherever and the took his car to get rid of the Fit bit and phone and put them in an area where he knew would raise eyebrows.

Hi, first post here.

Sharon this reminds me of a girl that went missing in Georgetown, Texas in 2002, Rachel Cooke. She was home from college on a break, went out jogging in her parents neighborhood and disappeared. It was theorized that she was abducted by two men: one driving and one grabbed her. She has never been found. :(

But if there was only one abductor, in either MT situation or Rachel's, I would imagine an "easy" way to grab her would be using a taser. Anyone can get one and an experienced criminal would probably have no problem with a quick grab. That would also keep her incapacitated in the car and unable to escape for at least a little bit. Giving him time to get out of the immediate area before pulling over and tying her up.

Angela G Hatlai1, or use a syringe on her. Inject her with something. Not sure how easy it would be to get a syringe. I know drug users can get them easily. I know when I was pregnant I used syringes for Heparin. If someone had access to something like that (the syringes) somehow and then the medicine (not sure how they would come across that) to subdue someone (like in the movie Dexter) that would be pretty easy.

I’m a newbie here and have only posted one other time on this case. I haven’t posted since, as I felt like some of the people who responded to my post only did so to “pounce” on how wrong they thought my theory was.
Anyway, did Mollie have any tattoos? LE in Cartersville Georgia found a dismembered female on August 15th in a landfill. The body has a general description matching Mollie, but has distinctive tattoos. Irregardless of it being Mollie or not, another family somewhere is going through a rough time. Prayers all around.

The semi stuck around to wash truck with Mollie in it? A semi wedging into a smalltown carwash wouldn’t be noticed? And seen clearly on video?

Nope, not at all. MAYBE the cab, the part you drive in when detached from trailer, pulled in, not in the car wash, but close by. MAYBE to rinse off, if possible, or to vacuum out, clean out. MAYBE something was found in the trash containers? Who knows. It was just an idea of mine, a thought, not written in stone.

Sometimes I think people get too locked into their own ideas, myself included. Right now, what WE think doesn't matter. Let's look at EVERYTHING,turn it upside down, explore it. Somewhere, somehow, we are bound to hit upon a nugget of truth.

Thinks I.

I totally agree- I think they’ve had the timeline nailed since day two or three. Plenty of digital data and time stamps to use...the triangulation of it all has to be within their capabilities. There’s a reason why they’re keeping it close to the vest. I think they’re watching someone and waiting. JMO
LE said in one of the earlier press conferences that they were "confident" in their timeline, IIRC. While they didn't go into details, I agree with you: they had data. The FBI has an expert IT team. I assume they know when texts, snapchats, and phone calls originated from Mollie's phone, and that they extracted the most recent Fitbit data from the Fitbit app on her phone. I hope you are right about them watching someone.

Good point. Brooklyn is south of Highway 6, north of I-80, so no trucks would just pass through town. And there are no factories or big box stores, so no businesses that would be receiving shipments outside the typical 8-5 working hours. So any truck seen in town would be sure to raise eyebrows unless it was owned by a local trucker.

I don't think MT (JMO) was injected with anything, but for argument's sake (because I like to be opened minded :) ), what about this?

Anyone with livestock might have syringes of various sizes on hand. And maybe some kind of veterinary pharma that could do the trick, too.

I am sorry if I upset u. There is no intention on my part that they would ever be the same other than looks which I shouldn't have mentioned.

Occam’s razor (also known as the ‘law of parsimony’) is a problem-solving principle which serves as a useful mental model. A philosophical razor is a tool used to eliminate improbable options in a given situation, of which Occam’s is the best-known example.

Occam’s razor can be summarized as such:

Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.

The Basics
In simpler language, Occam’s razor states that the simplest solution is correct. Another good explanation of Occam’s razor comes from the paranormal writer, William J. Hall: ‘Occam’s razor is summarized for our purposes in this way: Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof.’

ETA this doesn't mean any particular theory is patently wrong, just that, more often than not, the simplest theory with the most evidence is USUALLY correct... Emphasis mine.

Maybe Bigfoot dragged her into the corn.

I took that to be a given. It's what happened next that's up in the air.

It would fit very nicely if the guy lived in the area, dropped the trailer and just got into town. Nobody said he has to be gone for days or weeks. A short run, maybe two days, then home. Men who own their own trucks usually take very good care of them, are proud of them, keep them clean inside and out. Some also fantasize when driving over the road/any road. Have experience with this sort of thing.

Not saying this IS the answer, just a real possibility, IMO
