I just can't believe they have great cell service in a lot of that area and I've seen comments online of customers complaining about how bad it is in areas around Brooklyn. I don't know the science of how correct the reading of the timing of the pings would be in a low service area, but we have little to no cell service in our area and I can send my husband a message, or leave him a voicemail when he is at work, and it "arrives" at his phone a day later!

Maybe she was last seen on W. Pershing Dr. and was abducted after she crossed Jackson. Maybe she was taken out of Brooklyn on the backroads to the top right dot.

Is it confirmed she was seen on E Des Moines?

The last communication from Mollie was during her run, and there is a ping 10 miles SE of Brooklyn. I guess that means police have sequentially connected Mollie jogging with a ping 10 miles away.

If I knew that I’d be collecting $300k reward! It could be as simple as getting into somebody’s car for awhile to talk - that would make a lot of sense if it were somebody she suspected has misguided feelings towards her. Going for a drive as opposed to having his car sitting in the drive for all the neighbors to see her talking to him. Small town gossip is brutal.

Has anyone noticed that our conversations here at WS have all shifted to a scenario where Mollie never returned from her run? I still believe she made it home from her run, and maybe that’s why I have problems with all this talk of how somebody could incapacitate her and snatch her off the street. Has anything yet contradicted earlier speculation that Mollie was in the house doing homework later in the evening?

I even go so far to theorize she had a normal evening and may have even went to sleep. The Finding Mollie website still says no credible communication after last being seen jogging in the evening hours. Doesn't even narrow down to any of the sighting times really.

Keep in mind, this situation got real crazy real fast. A lot of things could have happened that night, lots of scenarios other than being held against her will could have played out. I can’t shake the possibility that Mollie didn’t return immediately because she was embarrassed or felt to blame, but every subsequent day her disappearance was more of a big deal than the day before. What if her initial concern was that the person she left with might be charged with a crime? Entirely possible she didn’t really even know what happened (ghb is a very real concern on the UI campus). It doesn’t make a lot of sense, but somebody in that position would find themselves in a mess they don’t know how to get out of.

Question for PaulR.
Paul, it is my understanding that pings are loadbalanced and may be routed to a tower that isn’t busy. This could make a ping appear 10 miles away, when in fact it was just load balancing. Thoughts please, and thanks.

In the middle of a long drive through Utah, the cell phone towers cover much longer areas, and it is more difficult to pinpoint your location exactly. If it's something like this, it could explain why LE asked the mother if she knew whether or not Mollie was in a house at 9:45 (which is speculated to be potentially related to the snapchat). But maybe not, because we really have no idea why that question was asked.

Well crap, hwy 21 meets up with old hwy 6, which then meets up with 385 just SE of that dot! In that general area you have Big Bear Creek, several ponds, and a giant stand of trees.

Unless the 9:45pm question was completely fabricated it had to mean something.

Possibly because there was limited cell service in the area of the house she was staying at? I have mentioned before that we have that problem where I live.
I am just going off of your hypothetical scenario that she made it back because you asked what she does next, implying she had control of the situation.
I don't know that she did make it back inside the house.
I imagine she was picked up as she neared the house, or somewhere along her jog route, taken onto 80 and down to the area of the pig farms, harmed and possibly left there somewhere, and that the perpetrator(s) then took her to the area on the top northeast highlighted spot on LE's map where that person, or one of the people, may live.

I always thought it made sense that the perp lived north, but if they were on hwy 21 at some point, why the diversion to V21 unless you lived there, or had something to do along that route and continued onto hwy 6 maybe? I don't like this.

I have considered that the evidence might have been planted there by someone who knew WC's past history.
