Was Mollie sexually assaulted? Why would the judge say Rivera would be put on a sex offender registry if convicted of murder?

>>snip

It is not yet clear how Mollie died or whether she was sexually assaulted thought Rivera was told during his court appearance Tuesday that he would be placed on the sex offender registry for life if convicted of murder.

____________

Map of area showing where Mollie was abducted and where her body was found.

I didn't realize there was so much distance between the two incidences.
Thank you for sharing.

CR is wearing a bullet proof vest. I heard all of Brooklyn is red hot mad even farm said it had over 100 death threats even a threat to kill their dog.
I do not agree with death threats from anyone to anyone else. I can understand people being angry that the owner of the farm allegedly used the "wrong system" to check on CR. IMHO that is BS. He is hiring cheap labor and got caught. Still, people need to keep their wits about themselves. There is only one person guilty of this crime and he is in jail while her family awaits the necessary justice for their daughter's death.

Le did not know what had happened to Mollie, as of the previous PC, when they were asked if the community was in danger. At that point, it seems they knew only that she was gone, that her communication stopped that evening, and that a ping registered in at least one spot. Not sure what they should have been expected to answer. People should always use caution. Jmo
What should they answer? How about “we don’t know at this time.” That would be an accurate statement.

Yes, I saw that too. It's not what you would expect to hear. It almost sounded like it was her AND her clothes there. I hope my gut feelings are wrong.
Yes, I hope mine are too but I don’t think he was looking for casual conversation

If someone was Mirandized in English, said he understood, and later said he was not proficient enough in English to understand and agree, would it matter?
Yes, it would matter.

And if a small (or even average) female is fighting against a male, who exactly do people think going to win most of the time? Men in general are physically stronger than women.
Whether your male or female getting bashed on the head with an object can cause you to lose consciousness or the ability to fight back. JMO

The one thing you realize dealing with criminals is that for the most part they are not all that smart. The movies love the clever, taunting criminal who has a brilliant devious mind. However if you go to jails you realize that it is a pretty sad crew: much ADHD, cognitive limitations, genetic abnormalities etc.

Not trying to demean them, but research has indicated as much. The LE joke is 'Raise your right hand. No your other right hand". Criminals are not great readers, and tend to have dyslexia etc.
I’m not sure how correct your statement is across the board, but I can say with some certainty that even smart people make terrible criminals. My favorite is when the defense attorney says “my client is a successful businessman, do you think he’d be stupid enough to do so and so?” Fortunately stupidity is not a defense.

I wanted to tease you and say, "Then you haven't watched enuf Dr. Quincy." lol! Sorry just being funny.

You just dated yourself.

Should have said 'Perry Mason' or 'Hawaii Five-0". :-)

It's not in the child's interest to be there, it's in CR's interest. His atty is going to paint CR as a family man, sit his daughter and ex-girlfriend in the courtroom so people can see them together, show him as a family man with a good heart. And they'll paint Mollie as a nasty person who triggered him, he was just running with her, flirting and Mollie got all uppity. Prepare yourself, it's going to be a heartbreaking ride.
The autopsy will hopefully paint a more accurate picture.

It's in the research. However I should have said 'convicted'. We do frankly have a bi-level system of justice.

For convicted criminals, there are more genetic abnormalities (like XYYY, although somewhat controversial) more ADHD, less education, more neurological problems etc.

Thats not discriminatory it's empirical.

I attempted to post this on the last thread in response to another user but the thread was closed before I got the chance. Since I saved it, I thought I would post it here instead.

Just an FYI for anyone who may be unaware...

There is an "auto call" SOS setting on the iPhone X. When the auto call button is toggled on the phone's settings, it automatically dials 9-1-1 if the side button is pressed five times in rapid succession. It will also send out your GPS location to the emergency contact(s) you have indicated in your phone.

I found this out by accident one morning. Apparently, I pressed the button five times in rapid succession in an attempt to shut my alarm off when I was still half asleep. A few seconds later, I opened my eyes and panicked when I saw that my phone was connected with 9-1-1. Without thinking, I immediately ended the call... and of course, I got a call back from them two seconds later. I was mortified, apologized profusely for my idiocy, and was thankful that my groggy voice was apparently convincing enough for them to call off the horses. (I was so worried that the cops were about to swarm my condo to make sure there really was no emergency and that I wasn't lying out of fear from a nearby threat or something.) As soon as I got off the phone with 9-1-1, an extremely loud emergency siren started blaring from my phone -- similar to the sound your phone makes when there's an amber or severe weather alert in your area -- and a countdown popped up on my phone saying my emergency contacts would be notified of my location and informed that an emergency call had been placed unless I cancelled the automatic text notification before the countdown ended.

That was certainly one way to get me to wake up!

Law enforcement was begging for tips. Several girls in town seem to be saying they were harassed by CR and made others aware of this. I wonder if any of them did contact LE? LE basically said they had never heard of him. Seems strange that if a girl is missing and there is a creeper known to several people that it wasn’t passed along. Also, the timeline was not clear to me. Was one of the girls indicating this happened after Mollie went missing?

My husband was so angry when I read to him what happened. He said, "ALL women should carry pepper spray on their arm and practice blasting it quick. I've got bear spray. One time I had it in a back pack and my daughter wanted the water bottle out of it I told my daughter to be careful don't hit it by accident! She did. It burned her hand terrible!!

I've never heard of that. Where would one go to purchase that? A regular ammo shop? I haven't seen it being sold at ours.

We don’t know yet and we advice residents to take extra precautions until further notice.

When they stated that I was so sure they had a perp in mind as Mollie’s Dad had stated.

Where did you learn this? As far as other girls, this is not this guys first rodeo. This guy thinks he is Don Juan. Very likely he has approached other girls before and after Mollie.

No politics , please....... We will get shut down....We have been warned.

This. Websleuths don't want it and neither does Mollie's family. They've made it pretty clear.

Ask yourselves if you continue to argue about politics in this case, whose interest are you serving? Mollie's? Her family's? Or your own?

There's another popular case about 2 young girls who died in Indiana (don't want to get my hand slapped for mentioning it, but I promise this is relevant). When that crime was first reported, I made several posts on here about something that *could* have happened. I suggested that they were walking through the park and the perp made a comment to them. Perhaps they told him to get lost or they laughed or whatever, yet he kept on after them. Maybe then they threatened to call the police and he became enraged and attacked them. They couldn't have known that he was part of the small percentage of people who are actually dangerous in these situations. When I made these posts, several WS members ridiculed me, telling me that it "wasn't possible" for someone to snap like that-to go from flirting/talking/etc. to murder.

And now we have Mollie.

respectfully snipped and bolded.

Oh definitely it happens! My gosh. Just look at for example Jill Meagher in Melbourne Australia. She was walking a very short walk home from the pub after work, along a busy street, home to her husband - her rapist/murderer happened across her on the street - tried to talk to her - she refused his advances - he ~just snapped~ - raped and murdered her in an alleyway. He'd raped before, but was out of prison because rape just is NOT taken seriously enough. (Rapists NEED to be treated as potential future murderers in my not so humble or PC opinion!) Of.course.it.happens. How on earth can people argue against that? Happens all too bloody often doesn't it? Not every woman is murdered by an ex-husband or boyfriend, as much as people LOVE to jump to that conclusion. In Jill's case that is indeed what happened, and for a couple of days before the suspect was named, her poor grieving husband was the prime target of social media.

Her murderer wasn't single either - had a girlfriend, and they'd had an argument earlier that night.

Women are absolutely at risk of a stranger getting homicidal at them refusing their attention. All women. Young, old, married, single, doing anything.

He’s leaving out the horrible details of what he did to her, and I fear the autopsy is going to show that it was absolutely brutal.
Absolutely. The reason he couldn’t come up with a better lie is because DNA is going to come back.

Someone needs to write a book about this when it is all over.

How did LE get the critical tape? How many times did they watch it? How many tips did they filter things through?

Wish it never happened, but there have to be lessons here.

The farm did not use a wrong system nor has it been caught doing anything "wrong." If CR used fraudulent documents and a false name, I doubt e-Verify would have caught it. JMO
