Actually, the Trial calendar proposed today was by the Court, and accepted by both defense and prosecution so can't blame the lawyers here. Trial date: 16 April 2019 - 9:30AM
Thanks for this info!

Agreed. But no kidnapping charges. I interpret that to mean she was deceased at 1900 block of 385th.

I think the forensics are 'done and dusted'; although 4 / 6 weeks were quoted in the last Presser. It's coming up to 4 weeks.

Now the State needs to work on the father.

That makes sense. Hard to believe since it seems all the more brazen.

Depending on what forensics and digital footprints turns up; his story of events might be correct; although I think there's a big question over 'blocked memory'.

I think I missed something somewhere, I need more coffee. Who's father?

If they haven't completed the forensics; then further charges can be added later.
Does anyone know how long all those tests can take? And if they do find evidence will they announce it right away or will they wait until the next time there is a court date?

You mean in terms of the order of events? Or whether or not that will be used by the defense?

Last Presser 4/6 weeks was quoted, they get various experts to look at different bits of forensics.

I'm pleased to see he's lost the bravado seen at the previous hearing. Poop's getting real CR.

It also look like the Trial won't be moved to a different location.

Red eyes, pale, disheveled hair... I grinned. Tick tock...

I really don't think there would be any point. Not too many places didn't hear about Mollie being missing. JMO

Article and video of hearing at link.

Chad Frese, one of Bahena Rivera's lawyers, said his client was nervous ahead of the hearing "but he's anxious to get this going."

He would not say whether the defense team would request to move the trial out of Poweshiek County.

"We will analyze that as the evidence comes in and time goes on, but this has got a lot of publicity," he said. "That’s certainly a consideration."

No matter where the trial takes place, they'll need to find somewhere with 12 impartial jurors who can hear the case, he said.

Prosecutors declined to answer questions from reporters following the hearing.

Frese declined to discuss the defense strategy he will pursue at trial, but defense attorneys unconnected to the case have said one possibility is that Bahena Rivera's claim of memory loss — if it can be documented — could open the door to the defense of diminished responsibility. That defense would require Bahena Rivera to admit to killing Tibbetts, but argue that due to his mental state he was not able to form the intent to kill her that prosecutors must prove for a first degree murder charge.

Am I the only bothered by the fact that his facial hair still looks perfectly shaped. I know it's snarky, but....... That was the first thing I noticed.
