Benefit concert to raise money for Xavior Harrelson reward fund - Radio Iowa
There’s a benefit concert in Grinnell tonight to raise money for the reward fund for information about a missing 11-year-old boy. Xavior Harrelson of Montezuma was reported missing in late May.
The benefit concert at the Poweshiek County Fairgrounds starts at 7 p.m. “We just want to bring Xavior home,” says TG, part of the “Finding Xavior Harrelson” Faeebook group..
TG says country singer Adam Whitehead of Marshalltown was instrumental in putting the concert together.

Xavior’s parent’s including his mother, SH, who have remained silent throughout the search did have a message to the public. She shared in an off-camera statement to KYOU, “Keep having his picture be passed around and around. I want everyone to look for him. Thank you to everyone out looking for him.”

Another goal of the benefit is to raise more awareness, and that's where the power of over 40-volunteers help has come in with putting together flyer packs to hand out at the event, and mail out afterwards.
"Right now we're inside doing a lot of stamping envelopes, posting, doing posters, putting them in envelopes, getting them to fairgrounds, getting out everywhere, all over the world," TF, a volunteer from Des Moines, said. "And that's how were going to get this young man home is by getting the word out, and we're not going to stop until we get him home."
Volunteers have successfully mailed out flyer packets across the country, and now 40 states have Xavior's 'Missing Child' posters hung up in establishments from gas stations, malls, hotels, interstate highways, grocery stores, and more.

Attendees, including Xavior’s father and other family members, donned his favorite color during the concert.
During the concert, a representative read a statement on behalf of Xavior’s family
“Xavior is a shy boy until he gets to know you,” the family statement said. “After that, he is helpful, kind, funny and is always happy.”
