Guess where most of our criminals get their guns from. Do you think a few of those 300 million guns might somehow find their way across your northern borders? Any problems we in Canada may have with gun crimes is a direct result of the over abundance of guns with our neighbouring country. IMO

If gun control is so great, how come you have a gun problem, and the county where I live doesn't? Nobody has to smuggle guns in here..... We just go down to the gun shop and buy one.

I suspect that a lot more people in Canada have guns than you think.

However, I suspect that people in my county have guns at a higher rate than people in Canada.

So I have to wonder why you have a gun problem in Canada, and my county doesn't?

I do like Moosehead beer.

So first you make a list

We also produce 75% of all the food in world.
How can you have a problem if you feel safe in your little part of Canada eh?

You folks are no longer making any sense, and after the remarks that were made yesterday that were deleted, I think it is better if the gun lovers have this debate amongst themselves.

Have at'er

LoL this isn't an America vs. Canada debate. The truth of the matter is we don't have a constitutional right to bear arms, and I don't want American guns coming into my country. That's it. I have no problem with someone owning a hunting rifle or two. But I do have a problem with ONE country having 50% of the guns on the planet. That is over the top IMO.

First you made a list of what you think Canada is better at but realize you can't win that debate so walk back from it. You don't debate anyway, you deny you meant what you said, and end up saying nothing at all. You feel safe in your little part of Canada but wish to impose your will on us.
Try this. The most free country in the world owns the most guns. Good. We also grow 75% of the world's food supply eh.

1) I or We don't have a gun problem and I never said we did.
2) suspect all you want, but the majority of handguns that are here came across US borders.
3) We don't have a gun problem in Canada, and there you go again comparing YOUR little county to an entire country. I am not talking about YOUR county. I am talking about your COUNTRY.
4) In Canada moosehead is aka Moosepiss

America is the most free country in the world?? Is that right?

If you are that offended by me saying we are better at hockey, you need to chill and realize i was JOKING. Well not really, we are better at hockey, but I was being funny, didn't think it would upset you so.

I debate just fine. And I do it while being respectful. Have a look back at some of your posts, including the ones deleted. I am not imposing anything on anyone. I am genuinely interested in hearing your thought process. I do not feel that in return.

MOST of MY COUNTRY has no gun problem. The cities with strict gun control laws have the gun problems. The rest of the country has guns, no problem. :)

2/3 of murders in Canada are committed with guns. Sounds like a gun problem to me.

And I agree with TrackerSam .... if any country is going to have most of the guns, better us than any other country.

America is the most free country in the world?? Is that right?

Except not really. You "LOL" at others and call other posters silly

That bolded part is the equivalent of saying "oh yeah?". Saying "Oh yeah?" is not debating.

There's no debate with people who'd rather ridicule you and obfuscate things to suit themselves. Your posts have made sense to me. And I get your jokes! This thread is :deadhorse:

Neither is misrepresenting what someone else said and then putting them down for it. That's the equivalent of "look over there". Not debating either.

You claim it - now name it. Quote it please. Or are you refering to Montjoy. Maybe you have us confused.

CoolJ, as I'm sure YOU know, "America is the most free country in the world" isn't an argument, it's a propaganda slogan.

Rest assured that we Americans who have traveled extensively in Canada, and/or live in areas with many Canadian retirees, admire your country and its people very much. The one thing George W. Bush got right was when he said, "England may be our closest ally, but Canada is family."

Canned peas for self-defense:

Alabama middle school principal tells kids to bring canned goods to class, throw them at possible gunmen
An Alabama middle school asked students to bring canned goods to school so they can throw them at potential gunman

Or, a concealed firearm:
Pizza delivery driver shoots suspect during robbery attempt
When a woman delivering pizzas in DeKalb County was ordered to the ground by a man with a gun, she fired back. Armed with her own gun, she shot the man Sunday night, according to police.

Suspect in critical condition after clerk shoots him in armed robbery
Police say a man robbed the "Hang Time" clothing store near 38th and Meridian streets around 8:45 p.m., wearing a mask and carrying a gun. After he robbed the store, the suspect saw a clerk was trying to call 911.
The suspect re-engaged the clerk, trying to stop the phone call. While that happened, a second clerk approached the man from behind and shot him.

Canned peas! :gasp:

Nor is unprovable nonsense like "America is the most free country in the world!"

It's absolute nonsense, and it's the reason people in other western democracies tend to think Americans are obnoxiously nationalistic.

If only the people in non-Western countries thought we were obnoxious and just stayed the heck.....

Nevermind.

Sonjay and TrackerSam. I don't want to argue. I don't even really want to debate. I just want to learn more about the mindset that thinks it is ok for a country to have (what I consider to be) a ridiculous amount of guns. Try to understand that I did not grow up with that mentality. It does seem silly to me. Not you personally. I have said numerous times I don't condemn you for having guns. I don't condemn America. I just think it is better for a nation to have control over who gets and especially carries guns.
I am not saying Canada is better. But I do think our gun control laws make things safer for the average person. Tell me you disagree all day long. I am 100% cool with that.
But please don't tell me I am wrong and please don't try to bring race into this. It wasn't either of you who brought that up, but I did see your replies that supported that post.

So let's agree to disagree. If you wish to continue to discuss like adults, I am in.
