Good to see MSM is picking up Mad Greek's truth statement

But how would the owner know if BK never visited her restaurant? He could have stopped in briefly and bought food or a drink with cash. Or even sat at a store next door stalking the girls and another employee recognized him as a patron that would stare or stood out somehow.
There's absolutely NO WAY she can say without a doubt he NEVER visited.
She'd have to go over a year's worth of security cameras and credit card receipts. Doubtful she did.
I understand she wants her privacy but she cannot know for a fact he never visited.

I wonder what BK's dad thought watching his son clean the interior of his car excessively for 5 hours...and then not even wash the outside.
5 hours? I'm trying to revisit links. I can't find the reference to him being timed at cleaning his car for 5 hours. Can anyone help?

Read their entire statement, they know more. We will see more info just not right now.

I believe they know more but I have deep respect for them wanting the opportunity to testify rather than share titillating tidbits with the media.

He doesn't have to know nor does he have to share with the media but it's a pretty concise way of saying that he's not interested in joining the media circus, tainting testimony or denying two beloved employees dignity and justice.

More like 4 or 5 months worth, not a year. But still a lot. And there is no way we know what investigating has been done regarding receipts or security cameras. I'm not married to either story right now, though. JMO

How would a restaurant owner know everyone who has ever been to their restaurant? If a customer paid with cash, no paper trail. Understandably, the restaurant just doesn’t want the attention, but the statement is a bit suspect. JMO

Agreed. I think she is overwhelmed, and frustrated and doesn't want the phone calls or media attention.
Maybe close for a weekend or week until the media attention dies down.

I think saying the story is fabricated should have been omitted. I understand the owner is overwhelmed and stressed out.
My apologies the owner didn't use the word NEVER but fabricated. The owner does NOT know who spoke to People magazine or if that employee ever served BK. I'm sure the truth will eventually come out.
A small college town with limited vegan options it seems highly likely he has been there for food and used cash. The two employees I'd love to ask cannot. I'm sure X and M would recognize BK as a customer or stalker.

Uncomfortably graphic but IMO EC was the 3rd or 4th victim- the knife was dulling. It was most likely harder to grasp, as well. IMO this could account for a difference in wounds if there actually were differences.

We don't know who was first or who was 4th but there could have been damage to the knife, the killer could have been gettng tired or amped up on adrenaline or his technique could have simply evolved as he progressed.

I agree. At trial, we'll find out if LE has evidence of his cell phone pings, and cc purchases at the Mad Greek or not.

If the source is law enforcement, whether the information is true or not they should be fired for violating a court order.

Also, the “source” claims they are investigating BK’s alleged presence at the restaurant, that they “collected surveillance video from the restaurant and surrounding businesses”, they didn’t state the result of the alleged investigation.
The way I see it, the 'source' could have told People "BK ate here and I reported that to the police." Then People said "LE is aware of the visits" which implies that the visits did actually happen but really it's just that police were given a tip.

Also collecting the videos is not necessarily the result of the tip... LE was collecting security videos from all over town, I assume they would want video from the place where 2 victims worked.

All my skeptical opinion only

Hopefully, she will calm down. Merry Piglets endured high publicity too, during the Gabby Petito case.

BK probably ate in many restaurants. But it just so happens that two employees of one restaurant end up as his victims. It’s only natural that whether or not he visited Mad Greek, is being scrutinized.

The obvious flaw in that statement is that both establishments owed a statement to LE, not armchair sleuths and every Looky Lou that wants a fancies themselves a super investigator.

Remember one reason Amber Frey's testimony was so credible, she never
Spoke to any media after she made her announcement about her relationship
With SP.

None of the injuries were fully covered in the PCA and I would suggest that it's impossible to speculate as the the nature of any of their injuries without an autopsy report.

Everybody seems to believe that you will hear people shout or vocalize when they are fighting for their lives but I assure you that is not the case.

Not directed at any individual but there seems to be a continual unertone that E coulda/woulda/shoulda saved the day simply because of his size and athletic ability, which strikes me as a painfully unfair stereotype that taints the memory of a seemingly terrific young man, considering he was also unarmed and his killer had the advantage of an extremely dangerous weapon and the element of surprise.
Excellent post.

I would suggest that if the public statement wasn't strongly worded, there would be no peace and it may affect testimony in court, if they have testimony to give.

I wonder about the claims of BK being at the Mad Greek, LE was seen collecting surveillance video from the restaurant. I guess time will tell. If LE was collecting video, it seems that LE wanted to follow up on wait staff's comments about BK at the restaurant.

Quote: "Investigators are aware of Kohberger's visits to the restaurant and have interviewed employees and the owners of Mad Greek. They have also collected surveillance video from the restaurant and surrounding businesses.".

It sounds strange to me that LE didn't immediately ask for surveillance video from all victims' workplaces.

If the owner claims he was never there and Prosecutors bring up evidence he was and a former employee as a witness he was there and had interacted with M or X I would hope they wouldn't claim it as fabricated to the public that is my fear.
Reporters are going to go there and ask questions and the owner is free to not answer them.
The statement they made is not going to stop journalists from investigating.

Nowhere in my post did I state that either establishment owed a statement to anyone.

Personally, I find that notion very difficult to believe.

They probably did and are holding that info unto trial unless there are no cameras at The Mad Greek or was written over by the time Nov 14th rolled around.

LE brought in the FBI quickly I'd be shocked they did not request this info.
