Yes to all. And wouldn’t be surprised to learn perp was doing some heavy drugs or has a significant mental illness. Or both. This leads me to believe the perp is a young immature, possibly impulsive young guy but definitely emotionally and cognitively immature. He didn’t think have the cognitive abilities to think this through-that’s why the crime scene is “messy”
My interpretation of the “messy” description was not a reflection on the murderer’s domestic skills or tidiness but rather a description of four persons bled out in one building.I'm curious if the scene is indeed messy or if LE released that to upset and bait the perp.
Thank you so much! And Yes you tagged the right personI'd like to bring this video to the attention of the forum as I think DutyRon (and cohost Ed) are verified sources to Websleuths <modsnip>
But, my point is they have some excellent analysis and is something to keep an eye out for because I think they mention possibly having JohnnyLaw on their show in the future and he's certainly got his credentials - they're mentioned in vid.
Good find regarding JohnnyLaw, @Mayboy1998. Hoping I tagged the right person. But, thumbs up.
Thank you. I just edited my post to remove the first paragraph. Still think X may have been the target though and that those missing hours may be important. The dance was for his sister’s sorority.
“He was our our daughter Maizie’s date, and his brother was Maizie’s roommates date,” Chapin’s mother, Stacy Chapin, said in an interview Wednesday. The group was attending a dance hosted by Maizie’s sorority. “They all spent their last day together, all dressed up, and had a great time. We’re all thankful that they spent that time together.”

Slain Idaho students leave behind bright memories, big goals
The four University of Idaho students who were stabbed to death near campus last weekend were more than just college students and crime victims.apnews.com
And now I searched and see the word "sloppy" was supposedly used by one of the victims' fathers to describe the scene (and you know darn well they didn't see it with their own eyes since LE won't tell them anything, let alone allow them to SEE the crime scene). All I can think is that the father is repeating what LE told them.Good point.
Hm. I read it, too, and, imo, nothing stood out to me outside of what we know. The only line that jumped out that might suggest a possible larger motive was this:This article makes me wonder if the killer or killers had a larger motive than just killing the 4 kids.

'Sketched out' University of Idaho students return to campus from break with still no arrest in quadruple killings | CNN
It's been more than two weeks since the stabbing deaths of four students at an off-campus home, and with no suspect or arrest, "people are kind of sketched out" as they return to campus from Thanksgiving break, one student said Monday.www.cnn.com
I don’t know. I think for someone to have stealthily committed a quadruple homicide and not to have been caught yet it is highly unlikely they were high on drugs. But hoping we find out more soon!Yes to all. And wouldn’t be surprised to learn perp was doing some heavy drugs or has a significant mental illness. Or both.
Why Xana?Thank you. I just edited my post to remove the first paragraph. Still think X may have been the target though and that those missing hours may be important.
For what it's worth my opinion only, this perp chose the knife as his/hers weapon because the scene was close quarters and knives hardly ever miss their target; a knife is always loaded no matter how many times it's used; no one sees a knife coming..just unsheathe it and go; almost everyone can be deadly just by picking up a knife (practice probably helps); no noise and it's easy to obtain one. I haven't seen if LE has confirmed the knife used was brought to the house, only that it hasn't been found so I am going to assume the knife left with the perp. What do skinning, gutting, and processing have to do with stabbing humans to death? The problem, as I see it, are people connecting completely different knife skills to this crime. I haven't seen anyone suggesting the killer was a chef, and they surely have better knife skills then the average hunter. Opinion only.
Are you local? I think reporting any remote thing could be detrimental to the case, but I would understand why residents would do so if I lived in the area.People are so scared right now that I think they are reporting anything and everything that is even remotely suspicious, as they should.

FOUND IT: “They’re telling us that there’s so much evidence that it’s going to take a lot of time to process it all,” Steve Goncalves, the father of 21-year-old Kaylee, said on Sunday. “This wasn’t like a pinpoint crime. This person was sloppy.” Kaylee’s father also revealed the killer “made a mess there, and [investigators] are going to have to go through that point by point.”

I agree.Thank you. I just edited my post to remove the first paragraph. Still think X may have been the target though and that those missing hours may be important.
Idk. I’m more likely to believe the incel theory. A person on heavy drugs would probably have been unable to carry out a crime such as this. Also, people with significant mental illness are more likely to be victims of crime. Just my opinion.Yes to all. And wouldn’t be surprised to learn perp was doing some heavy drugs or has a significant mental illness. Or both.
