diggndeeperstill, thank you for your awesome work! IMO this is very important information that provides a context to the murders and a potential motive- the 3 murdered girls were all members of either of these two Sororities, both under disciplinary probation for university 'health and safety' violations pertaining to alcohol, drugs and hazing....IMO there has to be a significant backstory, like an OTT hazing incident, an overdose, a student was harmed or sold drugs... the reason for the disciplinary probation, a consequence that impacts on the academic record/profile of every single sorority member.... I feel almost certain this is an In House University crime, the reason the girls were targeted and the reason the LE and the Uni are working so very hard to cover it up!!! There's going to be a massive exodus...
It isn’t that uncommon for a sorority to be on probabation. It happens all the time. iMHO it is not enough notice to make a girl commit four murders. Not much changes on probation beyond not being able to have parties at your house and similar restrictions. Usually probabtion doesn’t last long. If it was anything serious they would’ve been kicked off campus for a year or two.

Interesting: “She told Fox News Digital Mogen and Kernodle had dropped out of the sorority last semester, and therefore she had seen them less frequently in recent months. Spokespersons for the local and national chapters did not respond Monday to Fox News Digital's request for confirmation”

MOO. I can’t help feeling that if there was an issue at the university that could possibly cause someone to murder four people the police would be able to find out about it, an issue like that would surely have escalated over time and multiple people would be aware.

Just my opinion of course.

I understand that the school felt the need to stop classes but I wondered if that didn’t happen and the suspect is a student they would not have went to classes.
Also the suspect had to be covered in blood, it would seem. Did they dispose of their clothes, shoes.

Jmo
It’s possible the murderer took a shower before they left but still would’ve had clothes they needed to dispose of.

Agree. Possibly someone working in the kitchen or in some other other type of labor job, that was not part of college or Greek life, and resented, desired, and/or targeted the girls. MOO.
Perhaps didn't resent them personally, but as representatives of a class of person he resented generally. That's usually true of the mass murderer ("disaffected killer") as opposed to the recreational killer, who's in it for the excitement.

Also was thinking there had to be at least some part of prints (shoe/foot) on the floor going from 2nd to 3 rd floor, 3 different bedrooms.

This murderer knew the lay of the land. No way was this a stranger going into an unknown situation to commit this number of murders. At least one of the victims knew this murderer. Perhaps, all of the victims knew or were an acquaintance. The odds of a stranger breaking in to soley commit murder is slim to none. Imo

Since this article just mentions Maddie and Xana had left the sorority, here’s the link to the University of Idaho’s Fraternity and Sorority life showing the sororities themselves were on probation. Xana and Maddie’s sorority is Pi Beta Phi and Kaylee’s is Alpha Phi. Both are on probation (the only sororities listed as on probation)

The sororities are on probation for “Health and Safety” which is defined as:

Health & Safety: Violations or concerns regarding Risk Management, Alcohol/Drugs, or Hazing

Many insurance carriers prohibit student housing. Talk about headaches.

Landlord question-do you find it odd that there was an empty bedroom? In your opinion (your opinion only), would a house like this be rented out in totality with all names on lease, or individual bedrooms? Would there be door locks? Would a landlord continue to feature the one bedroom for rent even after the semester had started, or wait-of course, if it was a per room rental.
According to this, it was rented as one unit.

Could someone commit the "perfect crime"? Plan it out, stash clean clothing, new shoes near the house, commit the killings, leave, put on the new clothes, put the old clothing in a bag, bury them or toss them somewhere. Clean up in a creek, sure, it would be chilly, but doable. Change again, dump other clothing again. Get rid of knife.

Go to car, completely clean...drive off. The police may have some evidence, but if they don't have enough, they are looking for something to tie you to crime...if everything is gone....

<modsnip - implicating/insinuating family members as responsible is a serious TOS violation>

I should add, I am wondering if LE is revisiting that incident, maybe that group of students could help compile a composite sketch of the individual they saw that day on the bike path? Since there is so little known about the suspect it may be helpful.
According to this article in the Daily Mail, the suspect later turned himself in to the police.

Another thing I find noteworthy:

“Aaron Snell, communications director for Idaho State Police, would not answer a question on Monday related to whether the surviving roommates had guests over at the time of the crimes.”

Many students drop out of sororities their junior or senior year. The initial excitement has gone away and they are starting to think about finances.

I know you're not the first person on here to mention the possibility of a shower and I also realise you mention it in response to somebody else's objection, so it might not be your top theory on this case, but I find it hard to imagine that a perp would stay long enough to shower and then possibly clean up shower area. I'd want to get out ASAP after the deed. MOO JMO Not being a murderer or any sort of criminal it may be hard for me to imagine how I'd act?

This article says the girls ‘dropped out’ last semester. Not that they were on probation.

They both had boyfriends and jobs…may have found the time and expense no longer something they wishedto expend.

Well that's news - I hadn't heard that before. Wonder what precipitated it and how it fits in with other very recent discussions of Greek life in Moscow.

Kind of figured there'd be a few more perspectives offered once students returned from break and here we are.

Agreed!

I keep thinking about what LE said something like “ be vigilant for someone who was somewhere where they shouldn’t be “ Could a registered sex offender have shown up at a sorority/fraternity party? Sorry….this is a stretch…I need some sleep
Like an older person alone at a college bar or an uninvited guest at a party
