I guess here we go again lol
People who are against a ml did it theory are the ones bringing it up. Mostly with snarky comments. Just please don't say you'd like to talk about something els once the posters who think its possible join in.
My dad always use to say if you don't like it....don't dish it out. Pretty simple.

Goodness, what I wouldn't give to have even a glimpse of what LE and the FBI have in their hands. Just a hint, an opinion, a teensy bit of evidence, something to indicate what direction(s) they are going... unless, of course, they are going in circles like the rest of us.... gosh, I hope not. :-(

<modsnip>

But the mountain lion theory is definitely still on the table since the sheriff has cleared everyone and everything. Jmo. Hopefully hunting season may bring in more evidence of clothing.

We never know.

What would you think is the rationale for someone who 'took' him to 'keep' him for any reason in light of the well-publicized abduction/missing person? I would really like to understand how you're looking at this.

It's not rational. There's nothing rational about it.

I have no idea why my words are coming across as being in support of any such thing, but believe me when I say -- absolutely not. IF this is what has happened (and that's pure speculation), there is absolutely not one shred of justification of it.

Cannot remember...Did we EVER get verification that somebody actually saw baby DeOrr at the store...and I mean FOR CERTAIN???

Not that I am aware of.

Ditto. Inquiring minds want to know.
Also, did he eat the french fries THERE, and did he have a drink with them? A few details might aid in the realism.

I don't know where I stand on the spectrum of accepting/opposing the mountain lion theory. I don't believe I continue bringing it up; it's something that's possible, but in my mind not probable.

So much more probable is human abduction that it crowds out every other scenario. Remembering any human can be the abductor the potential that someone that knew the child took the child is great. What's not to say someone came into the campground, took DeOrr (this would not alarm the child if he knew them well), someone well known to GGF which would not alarm him and he may not remember after the fact, if he has dementia, no need for luvies if DeOrr is satisfied to leave, dogs are familiar with the person so they don't alert. It would only take a moment and seem as if he had vanished. I'm not suggesting who would have done this because I'm not allowed to and because I have no idea who would do such a thing. I just find it far more likely than a lone Mountain lion.

Mountain lions do not eat clothing. Or they would atleast regurgitate any clothing items.

Cadaver dogs would have found something by now i think.

I don't know about that. The last search party was told to look for animal scat and to look for any cloth in it.

Rumor

IF they had anything there would be an arrest. Either for the murder or for something to hold them on. Think Hailey Cummings.

After all this time I don't think they have much of anything. I also don't think the four that were there would be able to fool all of local LE, State LE and the FBI. Really.

I have kind of come full circle on all of this. I now wonder if this is a case of a couple who have lost their child and aren't real savvy on how to negotiate the system.

They were stoned by SM from the very first press conference and it's been downhill from there.

Maybe they don't speak well in front of a camera. Maybe they don't want to go on tv. Maybe they just want their son to come home and have no idea of what they should do to accomplish that.

I hope SM has not done them a HUGE injustice.

Looking at all the pictures of the campgrounds a clue could be anywhere but it's really a needle in a haystack. Maybe somebody will get lucky and find something. Maybe not.

I am in no way suggesting that the parents are involved. I mean that is obviously one direction, but there are many other directions that LE could be heading - could be leaning towards involvement by an animal (either as cause of death or scavenger), natural death (drowning or the elements), stranger abduction, known abductor, one of the other POIs, the upper reservoir campers, the cremains spreader, who knows what else. There are many angles to this case and I'm just curious which ones LE is examining closer. Clearly, there isn't enough evidence for an arrest at this time, and maybe never, but that doesn't mean that LE is clueless. MOO.

ETA: I agree that SM has done them an injustice, but a big part of that has been due to the secrecy and silence - the lack of information (and/or misinformation) from the family, LE, and the press just adds fuel to the fire...

True. We have unsophistocated parents, LE that fails to communicate well and a reporter posting happy dances on YouTube because he is having a new baby.

FBI that kind of dropped the ball with their last statement and SM eating them alive.

It can't get any worse.

Not to mention a public who is either unwilling, or unable, to discern fact from gossip, and first hand from second hand statements.

As for the reporting, it's been anything but objective in some instances. But I suppose fueling suspicions with carefully crafted wording has a higher entertainment value, and yields better ratings.

Depends on so many many things. The expertise of the handler watching the dog, reading the dogs clues, the experience of the K9, the search area and terrain, hills, rocks, holes, caves, cliffs, rock piles and of course the weather is a huge aspect both with scent and with navigation. Now that there is snow on the ground, air temperature is cold to frozen.

The news media and LE do not report very much at all about the dogs that have been there and we don't know if there are still dogs going.

And most of all, we don't know if baby Deoor is even deceased. Would it be good to still run the cadaver dogs up there? Sure, I think so but safety and search management is imperative.

Still hoping for a miracle. I have followed since the beginning and I do believe there was a chance he was abducted and is alive. JMO.

SM doesn't seem to be such an issue for JM these days - she's all over one of the groups, answering people's questions

Maybe the Cease and Desist orders have made her feel more confident about appealing out? Plus she's had a few months to get her head together.

It's so frustrating to have so little information. Why did they not secure the site first of all. They don't know who was in and out of there as shown by the fact that someone put c remains in the lake, people camping near the reservoir disappeared before being interviewed. It seems like they just went in thinking the child wandered away, then realized later that a crime could have been committed, like the Ramsey case. That possibly ruined any evidence that could have been there before everyone started walking all over the place. I believe it was a crime scene, not that I am saying it was the parents. But the "friend" of grandpa is not a victim, so could he be discussed the same as the RSO that also has no evidence against him? I also think the EMT bag is involved, if it is true it was stolen. The sheriff was waiting for behavioral analysis which is a way of ruling out all POI's, and there has been no further comment, and if I'm not mistaken, the search was downgraded about that time. I did read about a 5 yr. old that wandered away from his camp, and they found him over 3 miles away and he died of hypothermia. I think it was in Arizona recently, but I can't find the link now. I do think the interviews by the parents were odd, but the friend that was there didn't give interview at all the first day, did he? He acted odd too. So of course there is suspicion, all possibilities have to be checked out, and with no other leads, with the only info released about what the POI'S said being confusing, I am not surprised the public is suspicious. I pray every day for little Deorr and his family, and I hope that law enforcement has some clue as to what happened. Sorry for the long post, I just needed to vent some frustration! This is all just my opinion. Can someone tell me who SM is?

SM=social media
SB=Sheriff Bowerman

I think you're right about the scene not being secured... something could have happened to DeOrr during the search. Like, if foul play was involved his body or evidence could have been taken from the scene whilst everyone was looking for him.

Or some creep could have heard that a little boy was lost and alone up there and gone up, happened to find him, and then taken him home! Yeah not likely but I thought of that during the Baby Rainn search when it was reported that all the volunteer searchers had to have a criminal record check before they were allowed to search. As it turned out, it *was* one of the volunteers who found her alive, and if he had not been a good person he could easily have taken her home and no one would have known.

It's been a few months now, and maybe the anger is really setting in. Maybe she's ready to strike back.

Grief is one of those things that cannot be imagined until one goes through it, and the pain of losing a child is unlike any other pain. Add to that the lack of closure, the uncertainty, the rumors ... Good for her, I say. Maybe that's what it's going to take: an enraged mother to get the ball rolling properly on this case.

Disclaimer: This should not be read as any kind of criticism re: her previous silence, reticence. It is not.

eta: my opinion only, pure speculation
