I noticed Mr Klein mentioned prosecuting the case more than once. He also mentioned the timeline of events that day and how they didn't add up. I don't think he thinks it was an accident.

  • #482
No. Now his attorney may offer an interview for a deal where nothing he says can be used against him, but I don't see that happening.

That kindof amazes me....that LE cannot insist an interview.

  • #483
But LE and Klein are saying the dogs picked up NO scent........This is all so bizarre.

Personally, I have always felt that he was never actually on the mountain. However, the mountain lion cadre kinda won out there for a while, so I never expounded on my feelings. The lone diaper, the blanket (cup and monkey?) are simply sham artifacts.

I can totally see that happening. MOO.

They can book/arrest him, read his Miranda rights, and question him in the presence of his attorney. His attorney can advise which questions his client will answer.
No link, just too many tv shows combined with a slight recollection from 9th grade Civics class. And, my opinion, of course.

What early statements? The statements SB made about IR WERE the early ones and the only ones I am aware of.

Sorry, I was mainly referring to things stated in the parents Nate Eaton interview with the bit in brackets. I just can't see a way he did anything apart from fish and now not really wanting to talk for some reason.

Bottom line is I can't see SB stating what he did if there was even the tiniest possibility IR was directly involved.

I may be proven very wrong, but with all due respect he doesn't come across as the sharpest guy and doubt he could dumbfound all LE upto and including the FBI all this time.

Beat me to it Truth ... first thing to cross my mind too but somewhere wasn't it supposed to have been the next day it went missing?

Ah.....'that day'. Missed that and I would think the EMT bag was likely the next day or the day after because it was mentioned in the 13th July Nate Eaton interview. Sorry!

Could someone please elaborate on the EMT bag? I don't know about it. I just listened to the July 13 interview uncut and I didn't hear it mentioned. Thanks!

Tricia Interview with SB

10:12
TG: Okay, thank you, and I certainly understand why you can’t comment, but I have to ask or people get mad at me, you know how that goes. Okay! Sheriff Bowerman, uh this is something I have not heard of, but in our chatroom, uh one of our members brings it up, Steelman85901 asks, uh, to ask you about the EMT bag that was mentioned during the parents’ interview and then never mentioned again. Do you know what that is about by chance?

10:37
SB: You know I believe that one of the uh volunteers was up in the area and their vehicle was broke into. It might have been left unlocked, but something…an EMT bag was…was taken from them

10:53
TG: Mmm hmmm

10:53
SB: while they were up doing the search and uh

10:56
TG: So…but it wasn’t anything to do with

SB:
I’m not sure if we ever determined uh who took it or what the circumstances were surrounding that.

11:02
TG: Right. And so there’s no reason to even believe it had anything to do with Deorr’s case or his

11:07
SB: Not at the time, no.

Not at the time......very interesting choice of words.

EMT bag was initially brought up by someone you could faintly hear in the background (JM's mom?) during the parents first interview with NE, but it was not discussed. I'm trying to find the transcript to determine whereabouts in the tape it occurred. If I find, I'll post that as well.

It happens at ~6:00 in the (unedited) video when a lady off camera interjects and asks the parents if they have talked about the EMT bag as it needs addressing. This person repeats the request a few seconds later (paraphrasing)

Deorr Sr says he will get to it but never does.

You have to have the volume up and your ear against a speaker to hear it.

Edit: Damn 3am. Bed time!

I seem to recall someone earlier up thread asked if any of the dogs were in the vehicles to search.

The only statements we have thus far about vehicle searches do not specifically state whether human(s) or dog(s) searched the vehicles. Nevertheless, this is what we have:

Nate Eaton:
“And, um, at this point were their vehicles searched, the tents, I guess everything out there was probably searched?”

Sheriff Bowerman:
1:38
“We did a…I think a very thorough investigation. We uh took two initial track dogs in. Uh, one of them being mine and one being Salmon Police Department. They’re trained to search for people who are lost. Um, they were given a scent. They went from the campground up to the reservoir and then back to the campground and we…we searched everywhere a small child could easily hide or climb into or fall into.”

Nate Eaton:
“But nothing…”

Sheriff Bowerman:
2:11
“And we found absolutely nothing.”

AND

7:28
Nate Eaton:
“The family says their vehicles and cars were searched, which it sounds like in any case that would be standard operating procedure.”

7:39
Sheriff Bowerman:
“You know, even though we searched them that night you know you always second guess, Did we miss something? Could he have been in another compartment ? Did we not search everything? So yeah, everything has been searched at least a couple times, if not more.”

He does NOT have to answer any questions. The Miranda Warning begins . . . . "You have the right to remain silent!"

Isn't that only if he is arrested and/or charged with a crime? Right now he isn't even a suspect.

Just marking my spot... my .02 is that there isn't that much more progress in this case than there was a week or so after little DeOrr went missing. :(
Can't think why that is ; but my hunch is that he fell into a hole or slipped and went into some water -- and they just haven't found him yet.
IMO.
Apologies for the gloomy outlook.
I haven't forgotten about this little cutie.

I would tend to agree, except for the new witness that has come forward. I have to think there's a good chance there's something to that. jmo

I'm beginning to think deorr was never up there in the first place and whatever happened, happened before they even went camping.

jmo.

And this is really interesting from the written article from the interview with Klein just posted: (I missed it in watching)

"We are also concerned with other information from folks that have come forward regarding (auxiliary) issues up on the mountain that day.

What we are going to do is totally focus on those witnesses and those leads and we still have, I’d say, five maybe six really good active leads still working."

Wow.......

When I read that comment about "other auxiliary issues" I took it to mean something about the dynamics of/within the group of campers. Maybe there was an argument going on, or somebody was high or drunk and unruly. Some kind of disagreement between IR & GGP vs. JM and DK or JM and DK having a big, ugly fight. It could also be some outside threat, like somebody owed the wrong person a lot of money or a drug deal that went bad and some unknown party had threatened one of the campers. (Just throwing out examples to make a point, not that I think it was any of these.)

I really don't think it has anything do to with the EMT bag, though the EMT bag might be related to his disappearance after the fact. (Like somebody hiding evidence.)

SB stated basically the same thing about the parents. I don't think he would have said that if he thought they were involved either. So, there you have it. Back to square one.

jmo.

That's one of the theories that has also crossed my mind. It seems like KIC might be hinting at that in some of their comments.

No one EVER has to answer ANY questions. Remember that!
