Isn't that only if he is arrested and/or charged with a crime? Right now he isn't even a suspect.

The same applies if you're not under arrest. The police can't compel you to talk.

.

I dont know how much money Klein has been paid so far , but the people should ask for a refund. There , I said it !!!

Everything he says was pretty much figured out 5 months ago . Nothing new here folks. He spends most of his time talking about himself and how great he is. He talks like a marketing man

He talks in circles and practically contradicts himself from day to day. Then he tells everybody to ... "think about your words" .... I suggest he follow his own advice ... his "words" are creating more controversy than than some of the trolls he complains about.

With great reluctance I post these words. Thank you.

I would tend to agree, except for the new witness that has come forward. I have to think there's a good chance there's something to that. jmo

It depends on the credibility of this so called "witness", IMO. I'm still working on the credibility of Klein!

Correct - just like Skye Metalwala's Mom who stopped talking to the police after they realized her story made no sense at all. Not enough evidence to arrest her, and nothing to compel her to speak to them.

The difference, in my opinion, is that IR did talk with LE in the beginning and accompanied them back up to the campsite more than once. KI said IR said he would speak with his lawyer present, but the lawyer never returned any of their calls.

Question: How can either scenario 1 or scenario 2 happen without at least 1 of the 4 being involved bearing in mind animals & random abductors have been ruled out (by KIC)?

Good question, how could it have been an accidental death  without some one in the group at the campsite knowing about it? I have to say, none of this is what I ever wanted to hear.

Annie, you're not the only one who feels that way. I said as much several pages back. He's like the flim-flam man! IMO

Klein so talks in circles it is hard to know what he is trying to say. When he says accidental death, could he mean little Deorr simply wandered off and fell off a cliff/fell in the water, etc. and just has not been found?

I said the same thing earlier today. He complains about social media rumors and speculation, but talks in a manner that causes people to speculate and gossip.

That's one of the theories that has also crossed my mind. It seems like KIC might be hinting at that in some of their comments.

Crossing my mind ALOT right now.

That kindof amazes me....that LE cannot insist an interview.

I think he would have to be arrested to force an interview / interrogation. If I'm wrong someone please correct me. TIA

I'm beginning to think deorr was never up there in the first place and whatever happened, happened before they even went camping.

jmo.

I'll preface my post below by saying I have no clue whether the baby was ever there or not, but...

According to this 1-10-16 article, it appears that LE (not a direct quote by Penner) and perhaps Klein (he says he's on the same page as LE) may believe (IMO) the child's remains will be found at the campground/mountain since LE plans to resume searching Timber Creek Campground in the spring.

...He (Steve Penner) said investigators intend to resume searching the Timber Creek Campground area in the spring...

Please, please, please. Everyone here should always remember this. No one EVER has to answer questions, PERIOD! Not under ANY circumstances!

1. He may be dead.
2. He may be alive.
3. I strongly suggest Sasquatch.

EMT bag was initially brought up by someone you could faintly hear in the background (JM's mom?) during the parents first interview with NE, but it was not discussed. I'm trying to find the transcript to determine whereabouts in the tape it occurred. If I find, I'll post that as well.

It happens at ~6:00 in the (unedited) video when a lady off camera interjects and asks the parents if they have talked about the EMT bag as it needs addressing. This person repeats the request a few seconds later (paraphrasing)

Deorr Sr says he will get to it but never does.

You have to have the volume up and your ear against a speaker to hear it.

Edit: Damn 3am. Bed time!

Thanks so much. I did hear that off camera talk, but couldn't make out what was said. And thanks TxJan for posting that part of Tricia's interview with SB. I'm now up to speed about the bag. :)

An individual has the right to refuse a law enforcement interview. However, if a prosecutor believes a witness holds information valuable to an investigation, the prosecutor can request a grand jury subpoena to elicit that information.

Hubby is an ex-police officer. As stated by ILOKAL, a person suspected of a crime does NOT have to answer any questions, before or after an arrest. Furthermore, in court the suspect can invoke the 5th amendment (against self-incrimination).

As Bessie pointed out, a *witness* can be compelled to testify under the threat of contempt of court.

Did they ever find the blanket, toy truck etc?

Did they ever find the blanket, toy truck etc?

Mom had the blanket during the first interview with Nate. Unless it was a ... replica.

But I don't think he has to answer any questions that could result in him facing any charges. For example, being an accessory.
