I said I would be back when there was news. Many of us suspected the parents and were actually in FB groups with JM and DK. Nothing they ever said made sense. Many people tried to help them and there was never a thanks or response on any proactive ideas. It couldn't be discussed here plus any time anybody even looked sideways at the parents, it became very uncomfortable. I said many times I was here for that helpless baby and I still am. I believe when DK was hauling up the road to supposedly call 911 I believe he was taking care of the problem then. I think he gave the excuse of calling 911 so when records were checked he would have a reason to have left the campsite. All jmo

Yes, IMO

Thanks for your local perspective. What "week in the clink"?
Jessica was arrested 12/07/15 for driving without a license. They kept her locked up until the 15th. It's a public record available on the Idaho repository.

I just saw the news, but haven't caught up on the thread yet. It's about...freaking...time. I know I'm not the only one who's been sitting on their hands for months. I was beginning to think there would never be justice for this poor baby, and I'm glad to see that something is finally going forward. I WISH that it was just an accident in nature. But reading, watching, and listening to their stories since the beginning, I never thought that an animal attack or simple wandering off was the case. I was so scared that LE was only looking where the "story" indicated, because I thought there was little to no chance that he would be found there. Unless someone talks, he may still never be found, but I hope the wheels of justice keep on turning, and that the truth comes out.

Oh I missed that. Would they be able to hold her for a week because of that? Maybe a day or two?

Or killed and disposed of on the way to or from Leadore early Friday afternoon.

Or during that "hauling"-up-the-road phone call.

Not for the first time has that come to mind, nor the fact that the parents were only allowed to search outside the official search perimeter. There were plenty of opportunities to hide and rehide inconvenient evidence.

I'm so sorry to see this news. Although I had concerns about the parents, I held back because I didn't want to feel that I had added to their pain if it turned out they were innocent. As I said before, compassion trumps sleuthing for me...until suspects are named. I hope beyond hope that DeOrr is alive, living with someone they gave him to in order to cover a debt.

There are two things I remember from the beginning that someone may have links for, as I don't.

I remember the grandmother saying that she had asked DK and JM to accompany her father and IR camping because of GGP's health/mental status.

I also remember either DK or JM saying something like "Who would do this to us?" which struck me as odd.

Does anyone else remember these things?

Oh my God, I just saw the latest news! The parents are officially suspects. At last!! We all knew it was coming (well, most of us)...

I know, no arrests or anything yet, but I feel like the investigation is moving along at last now. Justice for Deorr!
SABBM

No words. Any time a child goes missing, there needs to be a thorough investigation. Just so sad it's taken this long for an attempt for justice for the little boy.
Does anyone have a link for what the sheriff has to say about his initial comments, about the parents being 'solid' ? He must feel bad about being misled.
Although my .02 is that he suspected otherwise, but didn't have enough to go on.

bbm -- yes, that was indeed odd.

Absolutely I recall that statement. Almost as if she knew what happened.

I remember something about "Who would do this?" Maybe in the first interview. Something like "This is the worst thing you could do to us."

The IR comment doesn't sound familiar though.

The Grandma statement about GGP's health was on Facebook KIFI and cannot be discussed. (How do we even know it was her posting) I do have that comment still as all of her other comments are no longer there (KIFI FB). Sorry can't help on that one. I do have other posts about his health. I will post them with the links in a minute.

The comment about who would harm us like that was from the parents first interview with Nate.
Not sure where the transcript is of that but can probably find it by search here. I believe someone here (Aeronomy?) may have transcribed pieces of it and posted somewhere within all of these threads.
July 13, 2015 was the date.

When he said that my first thought was Susan Smith.
LE in that case also stood by her until they convinced her to tell the truth.
I may have even mentioned the similarity... 13 threads or so ago. :scared:

Something like "Who would do this to us knowing how much he means to us". US US US It's all about THEM.

If there are any witnesses who fear coming forward... maybe they could be offered immunity in exchange for testifying ?

I remember him saying that or it may have been Penner, many of us beat it death on what solid meant lol.

But here is what the Sheriff said today, so if the wool was pulled over his eyes it wasn't for very long:

Bowerman says the parents have told investigators conflicting stories “since the beginning.”

“Their timeline keeps changing, where they were at keeps changing, and movements and statements about DeOrr Jr. keep changing,” Bowerman tells EastIdahoNews.com.

I wonder what happens to the documentary footage now and could there be any future legal repercussions over that?

  • #457
Yeah, these 2 just did not behave like parents who just lost their child. they were more concerned about what complete strangers on the internet were saying about them etc. than wanting to find their missing son.

Can someone help me find a picture of little DeOrr where he is standing in a room with a lamp behind him? His arms are down by his side and his right shoulder looks dislocated. There is an extra shoulder 'bump' that shouldn't be there, IMO.

I haven't believed the parents since that first interview. DeOrr's Dad was given every opportunity to talk about little DeOrr nonstop and what does he do? He talks about how great the searchers are and how impressed he was with the helicopter. I would have talked about my son's mannerisms, the words he says most often, his likes, dislikes, and etc. That just did not happen. Nate, the interviewer, did not have control of that interview, IMO. He did not ask pertinent questions at all. In fact, he let DeOrr's Dad have full control over it. TMI, out of DeOrr's Dad,IMO, that was not about DeOrr.

I think Sheriff Bowerman got all of this information himself with the help of the FBI. I honestly don't think Klein had anything to do with it, IMO. We'll see.

The Snake River needs to be checked, IMO. Just IMO, but I believe little DeOrr was an abused child, and I believe his shoulder was dislocated in that photo I'm trying to find.

The great-grandfather, who authorities have not identified, also has not been labeled as a suspect. Authorities said his declining physical and mental health ruled him out at the beginning of the case.

Grandpa has some health issues
https://youtu.be/yIA0NvCxrRE?t=6

Nate Eaton: Investigators tell us Jessica’s grandfather has poor mental and physical health, but we haven’t heard much about Reinwand at all. Police say he’s not a suspect and has been cooperating, but we want to know just what he saw that day, what he heard, and find out if he knows what happened to Deorr.

Deorr's parents, mom Jessica Mitchell and dad Deorr Kunz Sr., are similarly not suspected. Police say that Reinwand is a "person of interest," just as Mitchell and Kunz are, only because he was at the campsite with Deorr. The child's great-grandfather, who has also not been named, has never been suspected because of his age and physical and mental health limitations.

The sheriff says the great-grandfather is not considered a suspect due to his declining physical and mental health.

- Grandfather is elderly, on oxygen and has a few health issues, never been a suspect or anyone they are focusing on.

*Just transcribed this section below about Vilt this a.m. Will post full transcript in a bit in the media/timeline thread

01:45
Frank Vilt: Yes. I’ve interviewed both of them and I feel that the grandfather was too ill. He’s on oxygen almost 24 hours a day, and I feel that he has…he’s not been a part of this. He’s just an older gentleman who has some health problems ...

*although not about health, thought this bit was an interesting perspective by Vilt:

... I feel the grandfather may have been a little, maybe possibly neglectful by stepping into the trailer for a moment and the little boy was outside, and I think this is how the person…he could have been abducted.
