snipped for space

Thanks Claire that was very helpful! So Deorr's body would not have ended up in the reservoir if it was transported by the creek. This makes me think they need to search further downstream. And like sarx posted last night, they need to start at square one again.

I think the confusion about who Deorr was with has to do with his naptime. If he was lying down in the truck and the parents said they were leaving, thinking that grandpa knew Deorr was in the truck. But grandpa didn't realize Deorr was in the truck (when the parents left) so when the parents came back he thought Deorr had been with them the whole time.

Something similar happened to my sister and BIL recently only it was with their dog. They'd been out shopping and had all kinds of stuff to unload from the truck. Sis thought BIL was going to let the dog out of the truck and BIL thought sis was going to do it. Next thing you know we're in the backyard wondering where the dog is. And the ensuing conversation went like this: Sis: "I thought you were going to let her out!!" BIL: "No, I thought YOU were!!!

Fortunately when we went to look for her in a panic, the dog was happily waiting on her cushy fleece-lined backseat of the truck.

Except according to little Deorr's grandmother, "My dad was standing there watching him and he turned his head and then (Deorr) was gone.” So if ggf was watching Deorr at the campfire, the baby could not have been in the truck.

FWIW, adding:

The family says Deorr's parent's believed his grandfather was watching him at the campsite at Timber Creek Campground while his grandfather believed the tot was down by the creek with his parents.

This is very common. The answer is almost always answered that way. In fact I can't recall any intake/interview I have done off the top of my head where that wasn't the reply.

I have a few friends who leave voicemails saying "It was _name_ calling, call me back." It's always struck me as so weird!

OK, that is weird, lol.

All good questions I don't know the answers to. I was just thinking about what reasons could explain the possible emphasis.

First thing I thought about was static electricity. Some little kids hair stands

right up when a hat or hoodie is removed.

GGP turns his head for a moment and lil Deorr just vanishes, so GGP knew he had lil Deorr with him

If GGP and his friend had of started yelling right away would the sounds have echoed in the mountains making it that mom and dad would have heard them.

Do we know if the friend was on the site at time of lil Deorr going missing or were they out exploring also

What if GGP and lil Deorr were hanging, GGP looks over and here walking away is a blue jean wearing guy in a hat with a orangish hoodie, which is probably a pretty common outfit for men camping and thought it was big Deorr carrying lil Deorr, but it wasn't. GGP is 72 his eyesight might not be good and from a distance the person might have looked like big Deorr to GGP

Still astonished that ggf's friend has not been identified by a leak! People in the home town must know who he is. Why is it all hush hush?

Parents are solid, grandfather has never been a suspect, but not one mention of this friend by LE other than acknowledgement that he was on trip. Most well kept secret we've seen in a case in a long time. JMO.

So, did the "friend" take the great-grand father home that night?

Still wanting to know if the friend and grandpa came in a separate vehicle! Has this vehicle been checked out?

Unless the person was known to Deorr I think he would have been screaming or crying.

I finally remembered what has been bugging me...why do the parents say DJ has "bushy" hair. In every pic I've ever seen, I haven't seen one where I would think, "Hey, that kid has really bushy hair."

I took it as nap head. A little toddler's cute/fuzzy hair mess until their next bath/shampoo.

Maybe he got a buzz cut that is growing out. That's the way I picture "bushy" hair on a little boy.

I use to have lots of admiration and respect for the dogs. After following cases here for years, I no longer have as much faith in them. Too many variables in deciding whether the dog searches are accurate. They are a tool.

Either Deorr is still in water, which I believe, or possibly GGP's friend needs further investigation. My feelings only.

Prayers for the searchers and for "little man" to be found soon.

This case is so sad because so much time has gone by already that almost all the getting lost or predator options wont end well now.

I keep trying to keep my hopes up on an option where he could still be alive. The only last option that I can think of where the boy can still be alive is very sadly some sort of abduction scenerio.

Of the different types of abduction scenerios there is one particular type where it would be a much better situation than another type.

The type where someone abducts the boy thinking they are going to give him a better life or something along those lines. As tragic as any form of abduction is that would be my hope because at least it would mean an alive boy and he would be with someone trying to take care of him.

Its pretty sad that I have to resign myself to hoping an abduction took place. Ugggggg :(

Imagine how sad it is for the parents.

True, but he has investigated several missing persons cases before, which makes him somewhat of an expert on this issue, IMO.

He may be an expert on missing person's cases but as he lacks any inside info on this case, he is not an expert when it comes to what happened to Deorr.

Yes, he is retired, however, that doesn't mean he is old with dementia, and has no thoughts on this case.

With his experience and life work, he may offer a new set of eyes into what happened. At this point, I feel sure the main people working this case would welcome new insights that may help find Deorr.

Without inside info he cannot provide an effective new set of eyes. The kid never having been there to begin with is not a novel theory. The investigators actually working this case have necessarily actively considered that theory. At present, it does not appear they find that that theory is a viable one.

Looking at your first sentence, I don't think that's true. Grandpa said he thought Deorr went off with his parents. So if they said they were going for a walk and try didn't say, "Watch Deorr", he may have assumed they took Deorr if when he turned his head and turned back, Deorr was gone and not padding around grandpa in his little boots.

I feel it was a ten minute window during which Deorr hoofed it and vanished. If he got disorientated, and kept going, and if his parents etc. started searching in the wrong direction, by the time the professionals began arriving and searching an hour or so later, Deorr could've been so irrevocably lost much farther out from where they searched. And since he was wearing camo, it may've been impossible for anyone to even see him for the air.

It's horrible.

But the problem with the grandpa friend theory is why would he harm the child and when could he have had the time and privacy to murder and dispose of the child? Such that no one could find the baby despite an intensive search?

Something that's been bothering me. Deorr's parents say he never went anywhere without his blanket. If it was time for his nap, why was his security blanket still in the car? Wouldn't he need that for his nap?

I've seen several pictures of this sweet baby with his blanket, cup, and monkey. It breaks my heart looking at his pictures and wondering where he is. Please let this baby be found!

Right. I don't see how both stories can be true at the same time.

The family says Deorr's parent's believed his grandfather was watching him at the campsite at Timber Creek Campground while his grandfather believed the tot was down by the creek with his parents.

I agree both stories cant be true at the same time.
