I have a pretrial motions hearing on 2/23/23 for the both of them next.

Brief book review: When the Moon Turns to Blood is a high quality fantastic read if you are interested in stepping back a bit from this case to see it in the context of broader cultural trends vis. extremism and conspiracy theories and how they create a place that these murders could occur.

If you are following this case and believe it to be about money and/or sex ONLY, the book will have little for you, except that the journalist who wrote it seems to fill in a few more interesting holes in remaining text message redactions.

But if a cultural deep dive- tying in sovereign citizens, Bundy's, new ageism, and polarized extremism interests you- I can't imagine a better read.

To me, it is the "other" hidden true crime. The matthias' go into the hidden psych environment- this book goes into the hidden sociological environment.

Boyce grants Prior's motion to extend deadline to disclose discovery until March 13. Original date was Feb. 27.

I agree... the book is filled with historic facts which may have been hidden to some.

In simplistic terms related to this case... I think CD/LVD "used" their brand of religion to serve their personal needs/wants and grandiose plans. And, it's been done in somewhat similar ways through the years... maybe not killing spouses and children exactly but the use of "religion" for the end goals of meeting personal wants/needs.

For trial, the defense is combining the deaths of JJ Vallow, Tylee Ryan and Tammy Daybell? That seems to be complicated. That Tammy's death is not a separate trial.

Tammy was killed for the insurance policy payout.
Tylee and JJ were killed for Social Security funds? And because of the fact that they were "dark"?

I'm not sure there is one motive for Tammy's death, Chad's new life with Lori was another motive. Same with the children, I don't think they were killed for financial gain, even though there was one. JMO

I guess it is a good thing that JJ is not biologically related to any of the 3 adults as far as DNA testing goes. It made me sick to read that information.

Lori's former attorney MM is still insinuating improprieties and even a LDS conspiracy. I'm glad he's off the case.

Claims that Lori was held without sufficient evidence against her:

Look at it from a unbiased perspective and have to agree. Prosecution has twisted and bent rules of law to wrongfully hold her and the Courts have allowed it knowingly and repeatedly. If this case ever made it’s way to an appeal the circus would finally be exposed.

This response by the state seems reasonable to me. I don't feel as if they have been holding/hiding info from the defense. But, I could be missing something or not understanding correctly.
