Has it been reported that Tammy's parents asked for some way to watch the trial via a live video feed (as they cannot travel due to age and health concerns)... and Judge Boyce refused?

Is it possible for this trial to be conducted professionally, or will it degrade to discussions of doomsday, end-of-times, demons, goddesses, zombis, Ned, and other assorted dark characters? I've predetermined I might be able to tolerate three zombie references, but after that I'm outta here.

I’m just glad that Mrs.LV Daybell faces a murder charge in Arizona, too. I also wish she’d be charged federally for the presumed social security fraud.

My tolerance level is plummeting as I type... it's about T -1 Dark (and I dare not contemplate any Harry Potter references nor groin fires ;))

Ron Douglas, Tammy Daybell’s father, has filed a request asking to view Lori Daybell’s trial virtually. He and his wife Phyllis live in Utah and her health is poor. It would be extremely taxing for them to go to Boise and sit in a courtroom every day for weeks during the trial. Judge Boyce denied Ron’s request.

That's just skeezey. :(

Thanks for sharing confirmation of this.

'Sure doesn't sound fair, just nor right. It's worse than skeezey.

Here's the motion the judge ruled on. It's possible that this was partly (or entirely) a penalty for late disclosure actions by the prosecution. That was one of the defense's points in the motion. It will be interesting to see the details when they emerge,

He stressed the “death is different” argument for trials that may hang (sorry) by issues of disclosure or other technicalities that could reverse a decision on appeal. This suggests he was letting the people — Represented by the jury — off the morality hook should they be concerned that the defendant were put to death, then were found innocent, as sometimes happens. Not that I believe Lori to be innocent, nor that any disclosure provided now by the prosecution would change my mind. I believe this gets us closer to conviction. It’s almost beside the point that I believe corporal punishment to be unconstitutional under the “cruel and unusual punishment“ test. I’m relieved by this decision.
