Sounds like Chad was surrounded by women at these conferences…ick!
Don’t get it!!
I noticed this in ZP's testimony:

1:08 pm "Chad ended up giving Zulema a blessing. During the blessing, he told her she was a very special person, she was going to do some amazing things in the future and he was grateful to know her. The blessing was full of a lot of praise."

IMO, that's classic love bombing from the manual on how to be a cult leader.

Also, JMO but women in their 40's (especially religious women) have usually learned to be wary of being played by attractive, sexy men.

I think unattractive Chad would come across as being sincere, and that's what they craved.

That’s a tremendous amount of money. My nephew receives disability due to CP. He resides at home with his parents, wheelchair and requires total care and only receives a small SSI check. How did Lori finagle this??

It is based on Charles Vallow's income at time of death.

Depends on who had a life insurance policy (or the bigger policy).

I haven't heard any anecdotes that support that accusation- did Zulema seem to covet money or wealth?

Yes I hear you and you are probably right he was highly stressed. He probably felt thrown to the wolves but there are three people who died under "natural" conditions. JR, AC and TD. JR and AC were cremated, so can't be exhumed. I know they saved tissue sample of each and we're not able to find anything suspect. TD was exhumed and another cause of death was issued.
I'm not medical but I am sure there has to be something that would make a death look natural and undetectable. I am not trying to debate, nor do I want to.
Just suspect he died when he did and having been on the phone with Lori. Coincidence is crazy. Btw I thought AC died from a lung embolism.
He did. Supposedly.

I'm not a Zulema fan. Why did she need "limited immunity?"

She was part of the inner circle.
IIRC, in the interview released by Arizona police, she is the only witness who was interviewed with a lawyer present. She explained she had a family member who, essentially, is very distrustful of police and who insisted she have a lawyer, and I believe, paid for it themselves.

Similarly, today she shows up with her lawyer, apparently the only witness to do this. Why would she need a lawyer just to give evidence at a trial?

I think the immunity deal could have been this same, quite paranoid attitude about the intentions of police/legal system to frame her. She/her relative, and/or her lawyer, may have just insisted on it as a matter of principal, before she would speak to police (after the first interview at the hospital, where she expresses more concern that police are going to frame her for AC's death).

Lots of people are paranoid about the legal system and insist you should never, ever agree to speak to police.

(ETA, and it sounds like, if OP was police, they would frame her, in spite of absence of evidence...)

This was in reference to Chad and Lori.

The defense finally got what they wanted, i.e., to split into 2 trials. Would have saved the State of Idaho a lot of money had the two been combined, which is what the prosecution wanted. Interesting, not one word about the trial in today's Boise Statesman or Idaho Press Tribune. You have to understand the dynamics of Idaho to figure out why.

Well- this REALLY favored Chad far more than I anticipated.

Because Chad is the leader in terms of the 3 murders charged plus Charles. I have always felt this, and it's just an opinion*, but the trial so far has doubled my confidence in my opinion.

I know it is more popular to think of Lori as the leader, and that is supported by her history with Tylee (likely factious by proxy, put her last in divorce negotiations) and Joe (quite possible murder, certain parental alienation on steroids).

But just because Lori has been REALLY bad to others does not mean she was not prime pickings for an abuser like Chad.

I can't believe the level of spiritual abuse. Or, Jesus' love bombing, lol.

*who is the ring leader is not of much consequence because I don't think anyone could be acquitted anyway.

Chad is so lucky he is not being tried, but he gets to hear what is coming out against him. Grrr.

It's going to make it really hard to find an impartial jury for him.

ETA: I wonder whether they can add in his 1st degree murder charge on Tammy's death, when he goes to trial alone?

He got about half of that because he got SSI from birth, probably the same amount as your nephew. It got bumped way up to about 2k as SSD based on Charles' earnings when Charles was killed. Lori got the other half for being a caretaker to the disabled child, also based on Charles' earnings.

SSI is a tiny sum. SSD or SSR can vary a lot depending on the earnings put into the system.
