No, I believe JJ was killed, as a "payback" to Kay. This was done as cold rage and the only piece LVD could control. She couldn't get the insurance payout from Charles Vallow's death, but she could keep JJ away from Kay Woodcock.

What if Chad and Alex are the only conspirators and they told Lori the kids were taken to a safe place to await whatever event they were expecting? That would explain why she did not report AND why she lied after the fact.

Most of these people are/were true believers. I think it is very plausible that Lori would have believed Chad if he said he and Alex had taken Tylee to a safe place place and then took JJ to the same place later.

I'm going to have to listen to the defense opening statement to see if they outline their strategy.

Would Lori have believed they would take to a place of safety those who had been rated as having gone “dark”? Chad rated Tylee as dark (can’t remember if JJ too). I assumed the future post-apocalyptic kingdom was only for “light” people. Why save the “dark” people?

I never heard any of the infamous podcasts, though I tried to make it through the one posted above, so maybe I missed it, but didn’t anybody do the engineering for basics like sewage disposal for this massive tent city? Or was the goddess going to wave her dainty hand and dismiss all that nasty mortal stuff? Surely if you were hoping to be “gathered,” you would question such things. What am I missing?

For sure I would need a shower, comfy bed, hot meals, running water and clean clothes would be a must. Maybe the goddess thought ZP could conjure up a wind storm to rid the land of sewage.

Thinking back to the day Alex died, IMHO, he more than likely was having breathing problems in the days prior, but I think the stress of knowing that law enforcement was coming for him caused him to freak out. Like an anxiety or panic attack after the phone call with Chad and Lori the night before his death. Anxiety attacks are harder to alleviate when one is not able to take deep breaths. I believe he was in prison in the past for his attack on Joe Ryan and he more than likely was preoccupied in thought about returning to prison… I truly think that stress accelerated his condition to fatal. Would still like to see his toxically report as I do think he went to Mexico for drugs. JMO

I've always been suspicious of the AC death. I think most of us have been. But...

You may be right. Covid can (did) cause major embolisms in some. His symptoms do sound like covid many of us experienced. And it offers an understandable explanation for us wondering about his death. I like this as a possibility.

He also had some of the "co-morbidities" that, when covid was contracted, would together typically be likely to cause death.

But if that's what happened, it's a dead end idea for us. LE would never go back and do any testing to try to figure out "covid or not."

In general, it's naturally hard for me to imagine AC died WITHOUT being killed off. There are so many things that make it seem likely. But many others wonder the same way, INCLUDING LE, and LE was all over it, as they pursued the possibility and tried to find a killing and came up dry. They were there. They looked hard. They have access to sources and experts to consult. So maybe it was just a very odd twist in the road of life - as they do happen sometimes, even in very weird ways.

I never thought about the Covid angle before but I could go with that....as it happened to me, too, end of Jan/early Feb I had to travel to Houston for business so went through international airports and 2 days later I was sick sicffid sick and coughing so bad I couldn't stop. It lasted several weeks, too. Never had a cold like that before!

ETA: Or since! I never get sick so it was difficult for me to understand or explain at the time. And I never got Covid when everyone else did either! I am convinced I had an early version but had some antibodies built up.

You may be right about him having Covid. Although I do believe Covid was around then, it was really a couple of months later that Covid became a huge problem and they weren’t testing for it when he died in December 2019.

Las Vegas was a prime location for infection with all the people traveling in and out of there from all over.

That may be correct. Although, even if so, there's an argument to be made that Chad's ratings were determined by Lori's whims, or catered to them, and perhaps made in consultation with her. During that time frame, he was going to say and do whatever might make her want to sleep with him, frankly.

( She explained that CD justified this according to his beliefs on who had been married to whom in a past life - so it wouldn't count as infidelity)

This is the interview. I rewatched it recently & it has the stuff about M. Gibb going to try find Brandon ( at Lori's/Melaniece's request ) when Brandon had taken his kids into hiding ( After the attempt on BB's life & CV's death)

that second interview is very interesting. Hadn't heard about the Dad's ' theory' about 95% of the rest of the population being of lower value and that they were in the superior 5% and how that influenced Lori. ( That superior calibre isn't conveyed in any interviews I've ever watched)

I had never seen this interview, and found it soooo valuable. She represents the truth and reality of what was really going on in Arizona, before and after the death of Charles.
