Am I the only one who doesn't see anything weird about her hair in the mugshot? Plaiting her hair (wet, or at least damp) before going to bed is probably how she's getting a wave in her hair without access to a beautician.

It looks like the blonde is gone, and she's resorted to another childish hairstyle- pig tails. She went from the Pebbles Flinstone top ponytail to braided pigtails. Most females over age 12 don't wear braided pig tails.

IMO listening to Lori rhetoric constantly about Charles and Tylee and the hate.....she was inferring her own relationship with Tylee.
That copcam of Lori leaning on the red car dribbling syrupy delight all over the police officer minutes after charles was shot dead....he guesses her weight and she eats up gleefully that he called her perfect numbers and Tylee mumbles something smart at her mother and Lori goes...whaaaaaaaaaat...at her.
Seen an awkward distaste for her daughter.

I should think that part of what Tylee felt for her mother was also an awkward distaste.

One time Lori complained to someone (I don't remember if it was Chad) that Tylee was yelling at her for half an hour. Interesting family dynamic. We don't know if it was related to Tylee or to Lori's general nutty behavior.

I agree, also if the stress goes away, like after retirement, some people look 10 years younger.

I had an aunt, a very sweet lady. But she always looked sad, plus she and her husband had very little money. As far as I knew/know they were perfectly happy. But after he died she became so different - became plump instead of thin, rosy and animated instead of quiet and careworn, and even started cracking jokes. But I have never known if the difference was because of no more husband, or no more poverty.

This Lee Wallace attorney's channel is really good, if anybody is interested. She really puts the work in and was accurate on all the case detail . In her ' Live' show looking at appeals, she expects Chad's Defense to put on a bigger defense than Lori's team did. Does anybody know how he can possibly finance his legal costs? Surely Chad's legal bill had already exceeded the value of Chad's family home? ( Do WS-ers suspect that family or supporters are contributing towards his funds?)

All the Mormon men I know are much much more subtle than Barry!!
My take is that he is not typical. As a Mormon or a father!!

But he got places with the church. Probably more from bombasity and money. I think Money talks very highly in LDS, as it does many places.

I got the impression from the Mormon Stories interview..that Lori was a lot wilder in her younger days than I had thought. But still so manipulative. She sure pushed Megan around, and they were only one year apart.

My two kids and my sister in law's two kids are all born within a two year period....so our 4 really did grow up like 4 peas in a pod, so to speak. No power plays. But clearly Lori always had the power play.
Her power play to run off with first "baby husband". Daddy's power play to pull her back. But I think every one of her husbands before Chad were non-lds. Charles converted, but still she has a record!!
I kindof think Barry always was the powerr--but Lori learned from a master, and she almost had to keep defying him to show her own power....

I think a family has to process things, it is awfully hard to see a monster in someone you rocked to sleep as a babe, someone you nursed when sick. Someone you truly loved. I imagine first instinct is there is no way this is the person who did those things and like the stages of grief you have denial, anger and it just keeps coming. I do not hold the family responsible. They were adults who made adult choices. The family lost not only the victims but their sense of family. They owe us nothing and will probably suffer for many years/ rest of their lives.

I wouldn't say the family has no responsibility. But they have the right to take it privately.

If they take responsibility or do not is not necessarily public. And it is none of my business to check that they have.

IMO Summer has publicly taken responsibility. Megan has too, IMO.

Maybe others have taken responsibility under the radar.Maybe others have taken steps to ensure justice of which we are not aware- Summer had. Maybe others have taken steps to make sure there are no future victims. We simply do not know, and the families don't owe it to us to prove it.

(All the same, I understand and share the frustration and disappointment. Not saying I'm above the feelings. But I do realize that my feelings don't mean any of the players for whom I have them owe me anything.)

100%. The "Utah curl" is apparently a popular hairstyle right now, and I can achieve basically the same look by letting my hair dry in a braid.

And in prison, without access to curling irons or professional blowouts or salon products... When you have no control over when you shower or how long you have to get ready each day, braids seem like an entirely sensible option, IMO. It's probably not like they'd announce, "oh, hey! it's picture day!" and let her primp before snapping the mugshot.

And, as @Ruminations so succinctly pointed out, it feels rather superficial to be picking apart her appearance rather than the ugliness of her actions. The whole "pretty people = good" and "ugly people = bad" can be a truly insidious cliché.

The whole "pretty people = good" is why Lori could have a husband lying dead in her house, but only had to flip her hair, make a little joke, and law enforcement was on her side...even laughing along with her over the situation.
