I know it's a bit offputting, but when Lori and Chad are finally settled into where they belong for the rest of their lives (IMO), will they be allowed conjugal visits, seeing as they are legally married and all?
I don’t think they can even talk to one another on the phone since prisoners can make calls but not receive them. As for conjugal visits, only a few states still allow them and Idaho is not one of them.

But she looks good in jailhouse stripes.
Well, she clearly *thinks* she does! We all saw her flashing that smile coming out of the courthouse.

I’m not sure whether they want to or not or even whether they are still in denial. I haven’t seen anything from them since the testimony in court about TD’s death. I know they were told when the autopsy results came out that she died from asphyxiation & were still in denial then but I don’t know whether they were told the other details such as her being restrained or whether they first heard that in the testimony. Has anyone seen any statements from them recently to say how they may be feeling now?

And regarding not giving victim impact statements, I’m sure that’s under instructions from John Prior as CD has not yet come to trial. Even if the kids now believe that CD was involved in TD’s murder, he’s still their father and even if they want to see him punished, they don’t want to be part of the reason for it. They are in a very difficult position.
IMO, they need to wake up to the reality of their mother's murder, especially because, from everything I have read, she was a loving and caring wife and totally blameless in her brutal death. She was betrayed by her husband and murdered so that he could be with the psychopath who was just convicted. Unfortunately for Tammy's children, continuing to support her murderer will be yet another betrayal for Tammy, to her memory at least. But I think they realize this, and will wait until Chad Daybell's conviction before making any statements, IMO.

I think you are right that they will likely not make any statements until after CD’s trial. I hope that the information that came out in LVD’s trial opened their eyes and that they are no longer in denial. I can see how they could still say none of this would have happened if LVD had never come into their lives but I do not see how they could continue to ignore CD’s involvement in all of it including their mother’s murder. I’m sure the sickening texts CD sent to LVD while their mother was still alive had to make them realize CD was not the man they thought he was. And the evidence showing TD was murdered and the contacts with LVD and AC before and after the murder were laid out pretty clear in LVD’s trial. I cannot believe that they could still hold the opinions they had and come to CD’s defense now the way they did in their appearance on “Secrets of Chad Daybell’s Backyard.”

"What does she have to smile about?"

She got out of the "house" (jail cell) and is all gussied up with curled hair and makeup. Not a very cute outfit tho.

My opinion only.
I see that the top ponytail is gone.

Did CD really believe any of the things he told others about their past lives and associations with him and his past lives? It seems to me that’s always where he started - by telling someone who he was in a previous life and that that person was his wife or daughter or granddaughter or something. Was he trying to manipulate from the onset of the relationship or had he really convinced himself of these things? Did he believe any of the things he told LVD and she in turn told the group - like the ratings, castings, etc? Did he really believe that he (as an exalted being) could not die or be held responsible for his actions in this life? (Yes, I know LVD said it but much of what she said was regurgitating what CD told her.)

A question that has been on my mind for years now is why did CD return to Idaho after LVD was arrested and extradited? He had to know the remains of JJ & Tylee would be found on his property eventually..he had to know he was going to be charged in their deaths…he had to know when he was informed TD’s body was being exhumed that they would get him on that too. Didn’t he?

Was he really convinced that there would be a catastrophic earthquake in Utah so devastating and everyone so occupied that they would let LVD out of jail and they could resume their role of gathering the 144,000?

He still had a chunk of the insurance money left - that he is now paying for his defense with - so why didn’t he just run? Why get on a plane and return to Idaho? Why not just pick a destination with no extradition with the US and fly there?

Did he really think he could come back and get LVD out of jail? Was he so in love with her and wanted to be near her so badly that he didn’t care if it meant he would get arrested and convicted too?

Was he a lovesick fool? Pure evil? Or a religious nut that was so gullible he believed his own made up doctrine?

And where was he going to go when he left his home after they found the remains?

Yes, it's a bit of a puzzle. My own opinion, for what it's worth, is that he is just not very bright. In fact, pretty dumb. But because he could spout huge chunks of scripture, he managed to fool most people.
As to whether he believed his own version of religion, I'm not sure. Maybe he didn't to start with, but as you say convinced himself. A lovesick fool? Pure evil? A gullible religious nut? Yes to all three, IMO

I don't think Chad believed any part of the stuff he made up about people's past lives. He thought he was good at manipulating people, starting with his family. His ambition to be a cult leader grew with time, after he saw others make money off of purported NDEs. After Lori's arrest they hoped that she would eventually be relased due to lack of evidence of harming the children. Without a probable cause his back yard couldn't be searched. He thought that they covered their tracks well enough so that Tylee and JJ would never be found. When it comes to Tammy's death, he didn't realize that simple physical restraint could leave evidence behind. (All JMO)

I knew a salesman once who was what I would call an "intermittent mythomaniac." He would start a pitch with promises pretty much grounded, shift to obvious deception, and then start conning himself and go right off the deep end. You couldn't say he was 100% sane, 100% a crook, or 100% a self-deceiver. What I read about Chad reminds me of that person, with a lot of sexual lust mixed in. And surrounded by plenty of enablers.

I have a member of my family that says outrageous things all the time - sometimes big things and sometimes little things. I think originally she concocts them in her mind either to justify some action or to make herself out to be the victim in almost any situation. It can be something as silly as relating a story from our childhood that none of the rest of us 6 kids remember that way or it can be more recent events that never took place but she’s trying to manipulate one person to be with her against another in some imagined argument or whatever. But even though I think she knew every time that what she was saying was not true, I also think they she eventually convinces herself that it was/is and that she is the only one in the world that knows the truth or that everyone else is out to get her - family, employers, contractors, waitresses, etc. She’s been doing this since we were kids but over the years it seems to be easier for her to convince herself that all these things are true. I get the impression that CD & LVD have been living in their fantasy lands for years too and that when the 2 of them got together it created a combination for them to feed off one another and support each other to the point that they started believing it all too. I actually think LVD got there long before even hearing of CD but they certainly fanned each other flames once they did get together. I can’t help wondering what they think now - now that LVD’s been convicted and CD is on his way - now that there was no earthquake to let them fly under the radar - now that the world didn’t end and Jesus didn’t return in 2020. Do they still believe they are untouchable and unaccountable and destined to lead the 144,000? Do they think someone’s “agency” just got in the way of that earthquake or the Lord returning? Does either one of them have even a foot left in reality or do they still think they are translated beings and can use a portal to get out of here when they are told it is time? The latter would be my sister’s way of looking at it by the way.

My own, shoot from the hip, impression? He began to believe his own PR and wasn’t a master of critical thinking

Or of thinking at all, for that matter.

Does she actually have anyone left that would want to wish her a happy birthday?
Doesn't she speak with her mother on a weekly basis? IIRC her uncle once mentioned that. They talk about hair.

Lori's ex-attorney:

What inside job is he talking about? Him being taken off the case or Lori's weak defense? MM sees both himself and Lori as victims of a corrupt system. Is that how he would defend her in court? He's almost as delusional as her. And it wasn't her current lawyers' fault that she didn't want to blame Chad. They aren't responsible for deprogramming their client.
