Can you hint what family member you are talking about?
Annie Cushing posted to her YouTube channel that Summer and Colby both backed out of providing victim impact statements and were preventing her from giving one. She also said in her channel that Summer specifically told the State that her statement could not be shared publicly.

On the eve of the sentencing she released a video that said that Cheryl Vallow alleged that grandparents Kay and Larry “stole Charles Vallow’s half of $1million dollar life insurance policy”. (That video can be found on her channel, where she has done deep dives into the foia docs before, here

I don’t know what to make of it all, but I was saddened to see the continued turmoil and hurt that is affecting much of family . Mostly my comment was meant to be focused on the relief that Summer shared her story, and expressed she just was not able to attend in person, it didn’t seem nefarious or purposeful to block anyone else from speaking whatsoever but JMOO.

Yes, this.

IMO, when you're stuck in prison, I should think you'd grab at and mentally glamorize any luxury you could have... and Lori has the additional benefit of being licensed (with whatever type of licensure Lori has, lol. I just realized I'm not sure. Some licensed hairdressers/beauticians seem to go nuts when you mischaracterize a lesser license).

I mean, it doesn't take much to qualify as glamorous when you're living amongst cinderblock.

I totally agree.
And I don’t think prisons were designed to focus on entirely on the potentially “feel good” aspects of life one has in the free world, as so many material things are stripped away once inside.

I would imagine with her hairdresser experience, coupled with how much I imagine prison can be isolating & dehumanizing in some ways, being able to do “something” with your hair, something to maintain some semblance of your appearance, it will sound silly but I could see in some ways that could “help” some others. Fellow inmate is going for some interview with media & they want to look somewhat better in their appearance for that? Someone like her could help them in that.

And for all we know so far, Lori could enjoy being in some position where she has some control / is “above” others if they seek out her help. It’s far from “rehabilitation” or helping others in other ways, but it could still mean something both to Lori & whoever else, as silly as I know that likely sounds. JMOO.

I hope Melaniece will be charged for the shooting of her ex-husband.

ITA.

I can't help but wonder what sort of relationship she has with the children she shares with Brandon. Even with AC dead and Lori in prison for the rest of her life... I'm not sure I could trust her. JMO

I think that the family, including Summer, will change their minds over time as they come to terms with all of the facts, realities and losses that they have to deal with. There is a lot for them to sort through as Lori is their family member and they have had a long life together. Summer already has realized that Lori did not hide her kids and that was very public and horrible. They also have to figure out how to move forward as individuals and a family. So my preference is that the family members would be left out of the spot light now and that any issues they have with each other would be dealt with privately.

Privileges like working in the prison salon have to be earned. Do think they’s put sharp instruments in the hands of someone convicted of her horrific crimes?
my thought is she is just braiding hair in the quad, every behind bars show I have seen braiding is very popular lol

Okay I'm gonna say this..

She is setting herself up to be a martyr who had to tell the truth of her faith and to be the most special of special, a goddess, a deity and a seer. She knows she's going to be in prison even if she appeals her sentence. She is going to have FOLLOWERS. Vulnerable women in the prison are going to make her their fortune teller and she is going to weave herself a little prison cult of ride or die inmates. Lori will pretend to be psychic and will portend their futures and conjur their grandmas, dead boyfriends and husbands behind the veil. She is always working a game, that thing inside her never rests..she's always making a plan...so all of this is calculated...

Her whole speech was designed to call in the "faithful" and declare herself a prophet and personal favorite of Jesus Christ.

Her commissary will be epic. She really is a sociopath you know, she reminds me of some of the characters around back in the Viet Nam War days that claimed to be ex military and have all these wild experiences and injuries etc...and it was all fake...yet no one would dare call them on it and if you wanted to be around them you had to accept the fake story and live life accordingly.

I think Lori does a good job selling it because she is also has studied her mormon bible to the tenth degree.

Lori is nothing more than a garden variety sociopath/psychopath...she hides behind that bible. She will do anything she can to get money , that's the bottom line..prison is really perfect for her She will have her own cottage industry,

mOO
Your post is very insightful: i hadn't given any thought to her prison life. You are so right though--- she is going to have "followers" who are going to fall for her BS- sad, isn't it? Yes, she is a garden variety sociopath cloaked in religion

I feel the opposite of a lot of others here, I don't think she will be popular in prison I think she is going to have a rough time and will be asking for protective custody. She is about to meet some hard core woman who are not easily manipulated and are not vulnerable I thin this will be true hell on earth for her, prison is a lot different than Jail. Just my thoughts but child killers are not well liked among prison populations.

she will tell certain inmates that Jesus has come to her personally to tell them that they are forgiven. she will tell others that their victims behind the veil are happy and busy and that they didn't do anything wrong...oh she's gonna have a field day. mOO

Kinda like Oprah...only in jail.

" YOU get forgiven! And, You get forgiven...!!"

At first, Lori's family didn't even admit that Charles was a victim, including after the children were found. Now they accept that he was murdered by Alex. It seems that they remember Lori leading a normal life until she started reading doomsday/NDE books and listening to Julie Rowe and similar podcasts. That is when they likely started to notice changes in her, which was months before she met Chad. Back then they didn't find it alarming. They are probably still buying her truth about Joe. Both her family and Charles helped her fight him.

I last heard the Prosecutors statement and have since been traveling. So I just heard Lori’s statement. She is delusional. She mentioned death by suicides and by taking too much medicine. Guess that covers Alex. She would not address the beheading and stabbing of Tylee. She thinks that’s not murder?
I have NO doubt Tylee, JJ and Tammy are
happy in Heaven. Absolutely! I’m not Lori’s judge and I hope she repents and realizes how she murdered many people and prays for forgiveness. But I don’t see that Heaven is her destination. Hell was created for Satan and his angels. Lori is a serial killer and very likely one of satans angels. She has deceived herself.

Are her fellow inmates going to really want to listen to her delusional portal ramblings? I imagine that's the only conversation she is capable of.

Maybe she can teach them all how in her beliefs you don't have to take responsibility or feel remorse. Hey they will love the fact, that in her beliefs, you did them a favor and sent them to Heaven.
At the end of the day she is a Child killer..a killer of her own children. Wonder if they will take kindly to that.

LORI: About her sanity and sentencing --

1 SHE WON'T GET HER TRIAL OR SENTENCE OVERTURNED DUE TO INSANITY. Despite her pre-trial issues, we need to understand there is no path to get her a new trial or sentence based on "insanity." One reason is that Idaho focuses on what you did, and doesn't allow odd thinking as an excuse for crimes committed, especially when you knew it was against the law (and clearly, she knew). We can see what you did, but it's so impossible to know exactly what you're thinking and why, so let's not play that game. But a second reason, and probably a bigger one, is that the defense never presented any argument or evidence to support the idea that she was nuts. No real mention at all in the trial of her being clueless over what happened and whether murdering your kids was illegal. Then for the sentencing, they (Lori and her defense) refused to have her do a mental health evaluation, which would be needed to allege she is insane. In the sentencing, again no mention at all by either her or her defense that she had issues to be considered -- in fact, in her own testimony, she claimed she was super knowledgeable. If the defense doesn't go there in the trial, they can't go there with an appeal.
.... As a side note, I think the defense's goal was to keep her from getting the DP, but really did NOT want her to be found not guilty. Thus, the apathetic defense, and the weird (and totally unbuyable) sentencing argument that she was all about love that she needed to show others. Knowing what they knew (and what we have seen), would you want her ever set free on the streets to do her thing to you and the ones you love?

2 SHE STILL MIGHT GET THE DEATH PENALTY. About her getting away with multiple ghastly murders without getting the DP, it's not over yet. There is still hope. The exact charges in AZ have yet to be clarified, but because she was involved in a murder, for money, and one in which all the other witnesses to her actions were made dead (which have been proven, since she was convicted), I think it's possible they will go for DP there given the extreme depravity of her deeds -- with a good chance to get it.

CHAD: About his upcoming trial and potential sentencing --

HE IS STILL FACING THE DEATH PENALTY. AND HE SHOULD GET IT. While it hasn't been explicitly stated, his ID charges were set to be DP cases, and even though his trial was delayed, nothing happened to drop the DP aspect. Since he's still going on trial for killing 3 people, basically for money, sex, and power, I think a good likelihood he does get DP for each. It is the same set of facts, the same ghastly crimes planned and done to innocent people, the same depravity in pursuit of sex, money, and power.

I envision her "doing hair" as in curling with whatever they have access to like toilet paper rolls, braiding, arranging hairstyles, etc. I can see how prisoners might like that service ahead of visiting days and court appearances.

jmo
If I understand how Pocatello works, she won’t have much free time or time to just mill around fixing other women’s hair. I think she will be fairly isolated, in the part of the prison set off for hard-core criminals. But I might be wrong. Judge Boyce (graciously!) allowed that Lori was respectful to his court — in other words, was capable of behaving herself when the need arose. Maybe she’ll get into some program or another become a model prisoner. I’m not holding my breath, though.

can you imagine the rage when she found out she wasn't getting a million dollars? oh man...this is the moment I believe Lori decided to murder the children to get their social security because there was no way she was going to go to work..
yes at that moment all of her dreams of a million dollars were shattered...I think eventually she would have killed Daybell..
even if he influenced her with zombie teachings I think it was perfect for her because she could line it up with her own murderous belief system..that being that Lori was going to profit financially from her relationships and put everyone through holy hell and even murder them to achieve financial goals. Lori is Numero Uno...she is very much like Pam Hupp in
a way... heartless and entitled. mOO

"CRAY-CRAY" DOESN'T EVEN DESCRIBE THIS WOMAN BECAUSE SHE IS SO PHONY! "EVIL" IS THE ONLY WORD THAT DOES.
