That all makes sense and possibly very true, but don't you think that as time went by Chad would have done anything to NOT have the kids buried on his property? It could be that it was nothing more than the closest and only place available at the time, and time was of the essence.
“As time goes by” was only supposed to be a few months until the Epoxy-ellipse, remember.

The saddest part is that Kay would have taken JJ. Willingly.

I can't help but think CD made some sort of rule that for LV to be the goddess he claimed she was, she had to cut earthly ties to other humans, which would explain the deaths of her two husbands, one ex- and the other estranged, and it would explain the deaths of JJ and Tylee. I wonder if her other two former husbands would have eventually died as well, in some sort of purification for her. Kind of a forever annulment of her prior marriages?

At the end of the day, we're talking about some true evil here. Madness is afoot and I think we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg at this point. Those 60 burner phones assigned to different email addresses suggests--to me--that many more people are involved and that they had plans to bring about the end times in a big way.

I also can't help but wonder if more spouses/children died but their deaths just haven't been linked to this group yet. I hope not, but knowing BB was a target makes me think it's possible. I also have to wonder if some of the group members are in the hierarchy of Rexberg's government and law enforcement.
This is all true [cow noise], and furthermore, Kay would have taken Tylee, too. (She told the news media so during the children-are-missing phase of this sprawling criminal mess.)

Profiling Evil had Dr. Salerno is back on discussing many possible causes of death for this case (this is not a repeat of the previous show she was on about malachite).

ETA: Actually it might be the same one as before - I thought it was new with segments from the old one. Hopefully I didn't mislead anyone.

I have a sneaking feeling that neither CD's nor LV's attorneys will ask for a change of venue. Where would they have a better chance of pulling in someone who's sympathetic to the cult than in Rexburg that is 97% Mormon and has recently seen population growth from the prepper-type?

There were 60 burner phones and that--to me--indicates they had quite a large following right there in Rexburg.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think we're just scraping the surface of this cult. And, I think DW knows a lot more than he's saying. JMOO

I discovered something over the weekend that I had not heard about before.

Apparently there was (is?) a splinter group who also referred to themselves as "the Church of First Born" in Manti, Utah. I remember some mention of the so-called Morrisite group referring to themselves as such, but I do not remember mention of a this group of around 350 individuals in Manti.

I remembered that Chad and Tammy were married in the Manti Temple. Manti is less than an hour and a half away from their hometown of Springville.

Manti is a little town of about 3200. The temple dates back to 1888 and the Manti group was a well known presence there since around 1990.

There is much documentation from various sources about the Manti Group, AKA The True and Living Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the Last Days. The Church's prophet died in 2013. It is said that the group is now splintered.

From what I have read, their teachings included multiple probations/reincarnation, including the church's prophet claiming to be the reincarnation of the Holy Spirit and Joseph Smith.

There was a high emphasis on the last days and a failed prophesy of the end of the world in March 2000. I read that the group had a backhoe ready for the burial of all the dead that was going occur then, but did not.

They emphasized translation, exaltation, personal visions of angels, speaking to those beyond the veil (deceased), and polygamy as necessary for exaltation.

I drew a connection between Manti being so close to Springville and wondered if this is how Chad, and maybe even Tammy, first became familiar with teachings that are outside of the mainstream, possibly as far back as the 1990s in pre-internet days.

Whether there was any contact with this group or not, I am seeing that these specific ideas are perhaps a little more prevalent than what I had first realized.

Your absolutely right. I honestly think hes a good lawyer, he accomplished what he needed to during the proceedings and not going to lie I think he was having a little bit of fun poking at the witnesses and the prosecutor... and I mean I cant judge him for that, mine as well have fun with it

Great assessment of Mr Prior. He accomplished his goals in that prelim.

This (BBM) is in the letter that BB referenced in his court filing.

IIRC MG said that Lori had three phones. If she used one to talk to Chad and another for everyone else, what was the third phone for?

I don't think anybody but Lori knows. The phones are discussed at about the 8:00 mark on the EIN interview. MG does a good job of dancing away from talk of the third phone.

Tylee's remark about Lori looking like a drug dealer was reported by April Raymond during a Dateline episode.

For the record, a search of Annie Cushing's Evidentiary Dashboard for "burner" turns up just MG's remarks and a remark by Keith Morrison "The group communicated on untraceable burner phones..." No mention of 60 burners or 30 email accounts. That came from a tweet from a Dateline producer whose name escapes me at the moment. The tweet claims LE as a source.

Charles's behavior on Thursday, January 31 2019, when he took Lori's purse from the car at JJ's school, suggests that he did not know she had more than one phone.

Lori's "public" phone number appears in the ad she ran when she was trying to sell JJ's service dog and the phone bill her mother presented as "proof" she talked to JJ on 1 October. I am not aware of any public record of the numbers of the other two phones.

And that's about all I've been able to find out about phones. Lots of hearsay and speculation but that's about it.

Nate Eaton mentioned 60 burner phones being used to communicate in his question to MG (after 18:03):

ETA: The tweet in question
Police found as many as 60 untraceable phones and said the group also used approximately 30 e-mail addresses. #dateline

Yeah, sorry, had the time wrong and too late to edit. And thanks for the link to the tweet. I have a screen shot. Somewhere :-)

MG's a slippery one. "Burner phone? Never heard of them." "Third phone? Let's talk about the questions they ask you in temple."

Still all second-hand stuff. I'm waiting for a picture of the phones laid out on a table in an evidence room, with a caption saying when and where they were confiscated.

Here is an article from Kawaii. I did not realize how much CD and LD presence was disturbing island residents.

Hawaii resort condo where 'cult' mom Lori Vallow and husband have lived since mid-December | Daily Mail Online

I read the first article and was, like you, surprised that the missing children were that big a deal in Kaua’i. Your post makes me think it’s worthwhile to go back over earlier threads and see them through the lens of what we believe today. Thanks!

Funny, I’ve imagined Loriloo walking around with one of those low-slung nylon tourist bags filled with phones, somebody’s wallet, and a lipstick or two. Where were they all found? How many different locations?

Would you think that bodies may be buried in a property that you bought?

I learned that our mountain home in the VA Blue Ridge has a cemetery on the property, way down by the road, no headstones. The plot first appears on a map dated 1911. A local woman famous for her “dowsing” talents has identified at least 12 graves there. Might be more, but it started raining hard, so we skedaddled. Mass murder? Typhoid epidemic? Overflow from the former poorhouse a mile away? I’d love to know.

I think it’s wrong to assume that a judge being Mormon would necessarily prejudice him, one way or the other — especially in “Mormon country,” where it might be hard to find one who wasn’t Mormon.

Don’t jurors have to be residents of the area for some time before they can be considered for jury service? Recent flockers might not be eligible to be seated.

Why would the 60 burner phones necessarily link to Rexburg area residents?

(snipped) I don’t know that Chad and Lori actually planned to keep the children on the property indefinitely, but they would need to keep them there until the attention died down. After that, if they relocated or sold the property, they could also attempt to relocate the children. IMO, Tylee would be nearly impossible to fully remove from the property but, as I’ve said before, I don’t think Chad and Lori are smart. so that probably wouldn’t stop them from trying—if that was what suited their needs at the particular moment.
When they moved to Hawaii in December 2019 they referred to it as a permanent move. Lori even tried to use it to fight extradition. Chad reportedly said he was going to sell the Rexburg house. I don't think they ever wanted to set foot back there.

Holy cow, this is fantastic! Going to scurry off now to do some research. Bye, don’t forget to turn the porch light on for me.

Nate Eaton - Reporter

Three people in Fremont County have told me a woman approached them yesterday asking if they would do a survey. The woman said she was hired by an anonymous firm in Boise and asked if they had heard of the Daybell case, if they thought Chad and Lori were guilty and if anything might change their minds during a trial. It's no secret the defense attorneys have mentioned possibly changing venues and this could be part of their strategy. Mark Means declined to comment about the surveys - but he and John Prior have 60 days from the time their clients are arraigned to request a change of venue. Chad is scheduled to be arraigned Friday, Lori is scheduled for Aug. 27.

A friend just sent me this link to a story about our case that contains an interesting detail about what JJ was wearing when he was buried. Did DW's statement about seeing JJ asleep in AlC's arms include a reference to red pajamas? Well, unless he had only one pair, which is possible considering what a generous mother Lori wasn't. That could help determine the date/time of his murder. Other details in this coverage seem incorrect, though, such as how long after Tammy's death Chad and Lori tied their knot — wasn't it two weeks, not a month? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If it's okay to include this, here you go. If it isn't, I'm happy for it to be deleted and apologize for causing our mods the extra work.
