Idle Musings - Both Lori and Chad were born into the LDS Church. So were any of their siblings....... Was the now late Alex (Lori's brother) also an "endtimer" like Chad, Lori, and Melani ?... Could Alex have been a willing "Avenging Angel/Porter Rockwell " type for this newer "Underground LDS Related Endtimers" group ? that took care of their "enemies"?...moo

MOO. I think most of us doubt the excommunication claim. I know I do. And as you say, there is no way that happened while he was still acting in that calling.

That doesn't mean excommunication is isn't coming if he ever shows up, but I doubt it has happened already. I don't think any source other than the Daily Mail is reporting it (unless others say "according to the Daily Mail") and they aren't the most believable source.

The other "cult" possibility might be AVOW (another end times group he was said to be in). One of these has a special forum on their website that had a cost to it with an additional cost to get into a sub-forum that Chad ran. I think this might be what is being called or perceived as a cult.

Do you think it's possible that excommunication WAS coming and that Tammy didn't know this? That could be motive? MOO.

I agree. It's small, but not so small that a new person is going to stand out, not even close. Plus, being a college town, you have a lot of people of a certain age range moving into and out of town all the time. I'm not sure how much of that population is made up of students, but it's not a trivial percentage. Tylee would be the least noticeable person in this family, by far, in Rexburg.
In Rexburg, in Arizona, in Hawaii. Everywhere. She was basically an afterthought in this investigation. I wonder how much she really saw with the altercation between her mom, Charles and Alex.

Oh yeah... forgot about the school there. Good point. I think at a minimum someone from their apartment complex would have come forward to say they saw her.

If someone noticed her well enough for it to make an impression. It's unclear how long they (Lori, JJ, and maybe Tylee) were in the apartment in Rexburg, but it would have been at a time when a fair number of people would be gone, turnover in the apartment complex would have been high, and new people would be popping up all the time, along with family members helping them move in and never to be seen again. While I'm leaning more and more toward Tylee never having made it to Rexburg, it's far from impossible that she did, but was not noticed.

Is it possible that she was so isolated by that time that she didn't even know he was dead? MOO.
She was s aware, according to her aunt (Joe Ryan’s sister) who has commented on the RPD FB page. Aunt said she stayed with Lori, Charles, Tylee, and JJ for five days after Joe was found.

Was she at Charles’ funeral? I assume he had one. Was JJ? My best guess is that Alex has been Lori’s fixer for years and he was the last to see Tylee.
Neither Lori, Tylee or JJ were at Charles' funeral.
It’s just in the most recent police press release from RPD. I read it on their Facebook page.

I found it by following back from your post.

"September was the last time that we got a response from him at all," Valentina said.

She said he didn't reply to messages after that.

Devin pulled out his phone to look up the last text.

"He said, 'Thanks so much.' This was on Monday, September 23 of 2019," Devin said.

Maybe a newspaper from that date. I can make a sign saying it is 1842.

Edit: Not saying this would have any standing legally, but it would at least convince some people the kids were alive.
Maybe a video instead of a photo. Isreal Keyes took a photo of Samantha Koenig several days after her death. :(

Possible, but doubtful. There has been no indication that he was doing anything that could get him excommunicated prior to Tammy's death, at least nothing that appears to have been known. At least in the case of excommunications where the person being excommunicated is well known in some niche arena, like in this one, the reason is almost always going to be because they're speaking out too much, saying thing the church doesn't like. Otherwise, odds of being given a lot of slack, if he is perceived to have a decent following, would be high. All of this is MOO and I can't really go beyond that as I suspect I'm at or over the line of what is allowable already. :)

i also have questins about his cause of death at this point. he was not found for quite some time so he was likely decomposed and the obvious wouldn't be visible.
I think most of us do.

It would be helpful if we could establish whereabouts of Lori from 23 Sept until Nov 26th. Is there anyway we could work that out? Both those dates indicate Rexburg - last seen date of JJ and date Lori and Chad disappeared.

This has probably already been posted, but I thought I'd post it with a comment:

When Chad Daybell was 17 years old, he had a near-death experience while cliff jumping. He crossed into another dimension and realized there was a world beyond this one.

A second near-death experience in his early 20s was much more in depth. He was hit by a monstrous wave at La Jolla Cove in California. While his body was being tossed by the wave, his spirit was visiting with his grandfather, who showed him future events involving his still-unborn children. This accident caused his veil that separates mortal life from the Spirit World to stay partially open, so he often feels as if he has a foot in both worlds.

Chad has since become a noted author and publisher, and he s particularly well-known for his futuristic LDS novels that are based on what he has been shown. He has also helped several people publish books about their own near-death experiences.

His personal religious beliefs must be quite compelling and comforting to those who believe him. He can also justify marrying so quickly, as life is short and Tammy is already enjoying her afterlife. The above is from his Amazon blurb, but it appears that he does have some readers/followers. The book (Living on the Edge of Heaven) appears to emphasize Chad's special ability to remain close to Heaven and the Angels, as a kind of intermediary.

The cult, if it exists, sounds to me like a small group of like minded individuals. They could have met during these "Preparing a People" conferences, etc.
Yes, I'm sure this is one of the places they met like minded people, As has been mentioned earlier, Chad and Lori were involved in podcasts at Preparing a people and like minded people communicate online at AVOW (A Voice of Warning), in the sub forum behind another pay wall, where Chad Daybell is a member.

I agree that Chad appears to be the most likely reason she is there. But it's possible that she might know someone else from the end times/prepper community that could have convinced or inspired her to choose Rexburg. I'm betting there are others there. I wonder why Chad chose Rexburg as the place to have his dream or vision telling him to move there as well.
I have a pretty good idea of why Chad Daybell moved to Rexburg, but it has to do with the 'visions' of one of his Authors whom he published, which we can't discuss. But, just to say, it has to do with their end time prophecies and places of safety that they believed in. The Author makes podcasts and talks about future times and Rexburg as a place of safety from tribulations. I suspect that is why Chad moved there and that's also a reason that Lori Vallow moved there--and also to be closer to Chad? MOO.

Maybe I’m dreaming, but I’m positive the “About Chad” section of his website has been edited recently. When I first heard of this case it was one of the first things I read, and my memory of it is that it was quite long, talked about his wife Tammy, the books they had published together for primary children, and even mentioned him convincing her to move to Rexburg due to his “visions”. Anyone else remember?

There has been talk of Chad's standing within the Mormon Church, but what about Lori's?

I read on WS that she was born Mormon and Tylee's FB from 2017 appears to have a Mormon temple as one of her profile pics.

I'm not LDS, so not familar, but 5 marriages would require all sorts of hoops, counseling and pleading to remain within communion in the Catholic Church.
As was mentioned earlier, it's likely that most of her marriages were not in an LDS temple, and that's not uncommon. If she'd married in the temple, she need a divorce to remarry civilly, but to be married/sealed in a temple to a new husband, she would need a cancellation of sealing for the previous temple marriage/sealing and they take time to get. Some women just remarry civilly after getting a divorce. Not all members are married in the temple, it is the ideal, but not always the case. And not being married in the temple would not affect her standing in the church, they take the sacrament on Sundays just like other members; it isn't the same as in the Catholic church.

I remember reading what you're describing somewhere, but I'm not sure if it was on the page you linked. Could it have maybe been on a page on the publishing company site? The reason I'm asking is that (a) that site is down and has been for at least a day or two and (b) it seems strange that if someone was going to edit that page it would still mention his wife Tammy, but just less.
