The "week before" is new information as of tonight. Missing Idaho children’s mom fled the night before FBI raided home, neighbor says Seth said Lori kept to herself. One day, a police officer showed up on Seth's doorstep, asking about Lori and her children. He said about a week later, two nights before Thanksgiving, he saw Lori and her brother packing up a truck. He figured they were going somewhere for the holiday.

Sounds like LE knocked on the neighbor’s door a week before they first appeared at Lori’s door. Don’t know if they tried to reach Lori that same day, but she wasn’t home. Or if they were getting ducks in a row before approaching her.

I had the same thought. But since the death investigation is being conducted in Idaho they may have wanted the Idaho state ME or whatever to do the autopsy. I'm sure they had their reasons.

I just question the reporting because the Rexburg Standard Journal is a small town paper that publishes two days a week. It isn't as if they have been on top of this story as opposed to East Idaho News and other media outlets. But maybe it will turn out they are the first one to report it.

Sadly, Arizona has laws regarding inheritance and I think similar rules apply to life insurance. The spouse, and Lori still was, legally, has to get a large fraction, something like half of the estate. Children are entitled as well. I used to live in AZ and made an estate plan there. But I don't recall the details. Bottom line is that Lori would have gotten the lion's share and control of anything left to minor children.

Were they, Lori and Charles ever divorced in AZ? The family case filed by Charles, in Feb 19, was dismissed in full without prejudice (can file again). She obviously "remarried" Chad in Nov after Charles was killed in July and Tammy died in October.

Wow! So, when Charles died, Lori inherited everything, as a spouse, ie widow. Instead of being an "ex wife". Significant difference.

I understand. I've seen the address referred to as Rexburg, Salem, and St Anthony. I could argue for either of the last two being accurate in some ways, but since it isn't in a town limit not totally.

Let me clarify the address
The Daybell house is located 1 mile north of the Fremont/ Madison county line in Fremont County.
The address says Rexburg because we get our mail from the Rexburg post office.

I have those same questions. Doesn't seem to be an obituary. He died in Gilbert, AZ, I believe.

I had an experience almost 30 years ago where one night we heard a crash from across the street about 9 o'clock one evening. We looked and saw nothing then minutes later another crash. Very quickly a cop car showed up because another neighbor called 911. Then over the next hour about 4 more unmarked police cars showed up, some in VERY casual clothes with badges around their necks. They began asking us and the other neighbors who had gathered a lot of strange questions, strange considering what we initially though was just a car wreck.

Turns out the house was a suspected major drug stash house. They asked all kinds of questions like frequency of visitors, when the lights were on, etc. for about 3 hours because I remember it was after midnight when they finally left. Truthfully they had been very quiet, nice people so we had little to offer to help. But clearly the police were using the opportunity to pursue a different investigation. In that case the guy was just mad at his wife and rammed her car in anger. They moved out within weeks and that was that.

But I learned then that LE do watch places and take advantage of opportunities when they arise.

Add the early involvement of the FBI in this and I would not be at all surprised if this group has been under scrutiny for some time.

Lol, thanks @Steelslady but I think the OP you quoted was quoting part of the timeline I made before. My family's all in bed now and I'm typing away at the timeline edits as fast as the news puts out new stories. I may just have to post it and know there will be more revisions needed as soon as I post it. The reporters at Fox 10 Phoenix and Fox 13 Salt Lake City are doing a fabulous job getting inside scoops on this case!

I have always thought that the location of Tylee's Jeep may be a key in trying to figure out what may have happened to her (and possibly JJ). If Tylee's Jeep was involved in the attempted murder of BB in AZ on 10/2 (and apparently authorities have the Jeep), how did it get there?

If Tylee traveled with Lori and JJ in August when they moved from AZ up to Rexburg, did Tylee leave the Jeep with Alex (and ride with Lori and JJ), or did Tylee drive the Jeep herself to Rexburg? I think most 17 yr olds, if moving permanently, would want to bring their car/Jeep with them.

IF Tylee took the Jeep to Rexburg, then how did it get back to AZ before 10/2? IF Tylee was seen by Seth in Rexburg, and IF the Jeep was in Rexburg on 10/2, then sometime between 9/23 and 10/2 somebody drove the Jeep back down to AZ. Was that person Tylee (possibly with JJ as a passenger)? Was that person Lori (possibly with Tylee as passenger - or with Tylee and JJ as passengers)?

It seems unlikely that the driver was Lori, but it could have been. Was Lori seen in Rexburg in late Sept? Was she even seen in Rexburg between late Sept through, say, early Nov., prior to her wedding to Chad?

If Tylee (with possibly JJ) - or Lori (with possibly Tylee and JJ) - drove the Jeep back to Alex's house in AZ (with maybe Tylee and JJ believing that at least one reason for the trip was to drop JJ at either a friend's house or at his grandparents?), it possibly means that whatever may have happened to Tylee and JJ possibly happened in AZ, and more specifically, happened near Alex's.

IF something lke this occurred, and (for argument's sake, let's say Lori returned by herself to Rexburg), did Alex possibly drive her back up (in October, or at least sometime before the Jeep was confiscated)? Did Lori possibly fly back up?

Seems LE could check for possible video evidence of the possible trip (s), Jeep GPS, flight reservations/passenger lists, etc., to try to determine just how the Jeep ended up (or never left) AZ. Just saying that maybe Rexburg isn't the only place to be searching for the kids
