Like others already pointed out, school was out for the summer. JJ could have been going to a special school. But going to the hotel for breakfast wouldn't rule out later going to school.

I'm guessing it wasn't Chad. More likely Alex if it was either of them. My reasons:

1. After a certain length of time, you can usually pick your spouse out of a crowd (black coat, clothing, or no), let alone right in front of you. "You think I didn't know that was you"? The mannerisms, the way they stand, walk, etc. You know.

2. Chad is rather large, to put it mildly. There is no way that someone exactly the size of Tammy's husband standing there in front of her wouldn't clue her in.

People say a lot of things, but that doesn't mean it's true. I mean, I could say someone is obsessed with this forum and that they think they are LE or PI's, but does that make it true? Much of what we know is hearsay and not factual. You'd be surprised what some people will say to get 15 mins of Fame or just to feel a part of something big with bonus points if it pans out true. It's even easier if it's done under a cloak of anonymity. I mean what do they have to lose with a lie when the burdon of proof falls on the accused?

As far as I can tell, there were people who didn't believe the self-defense story, they tried to contact police but were blown off (calls not returned, etc). Which suggests police really were not interested for whatever reason in actually investigating the case as a potential murder rather than self-defense. It's really hard to understand what kind of investigation police had going at ll, since reportedly Lori had a pool party later in the day after Charles was killed. Was there ever a proper forensic investigation conducted? You need to analyze blood spatter, who was standing where, etc. If a bunch of people are allowed to trample trough the scene the same day, how would that be even possible?

Why was JJ going to school in July, and why was CV picking him up at 8:30 am? Seems late for the start of a school day. I’m assuming it was more of a daycare than school? Just curious.

A lot of children who have disabilities are eligible for ESY, Extended School Year services, so they don't lose any skills over the extended summer break.

If JJ was eligible for ESY, he has some significant issues. Which concerns me, children who have disabilities are at a higher risk for child abuse. Lori doesn't seem to be the best parent for a child with disabilities.

JJ is eligible for his Father's Social Security benefits, as a child with a dead father, the same as Tylee. Together, the both of them were probably bringing in $4000, if not more in benefits, a month.

I would be interested to know where this money is currently being deposited. And how long Lori will have access to this money, now that the whereabouts of the children is in question.

The authorities have no verification that the children are not with her. They can't just stop the benefits without cause. Legally, Lori is their legal parent, the children are under age 18, the Social Security benefits can't just be "stopped".

Unless, the court system files for a change of guardianship for the children, JJ, I guess his grandparents, Tylee, would have a court appointed guardian. Lori would be notified by certified mail, of the court date. If she doesn't show up, the court can garnish the benefits, in a trust for JJ and a separate one for Tylee.

This would be a closed hearing, because JJ and Tylee are juveniles.

If the police have followed up on this. I have found it very interesting that LEO don't always know how other programs work, they are not expected to be specialists in every single government bureaucracy program of benefits and entitlements.

LEO are probably busy enough. Another domestic violence scene. Shrug. Move on. That is probably how they viewed it. Lori is probably quite a dramatic actress who made quite a statement to the police, with her blonde hair carelessly tousled, carefully crafted outfit, jeans, blouse, with just "enough" cleavage. I have no doubt, that it was an impressive show.

I never realized it was FAMILY MEMBERS she told that Tylee had died. What the heck?!!! I knew she had said it to someone, but family? How long ago did she say that? And who to? Totally crazy. I want to know more about this detail. I assumed she had said this to a stranger of sorts- but family?

I do hope LE would not think that with someone dead with two gunshots, however the divorce was no longer going thru, it was his house so he had a right to be there to pick up his son. With two people giving the same story, maybe evidence of a head injury, you can see how it unfolded. They secured the scene with crime tape according to the video posted upthread, only the front of the house though.
