I have no clue why he wasn't arrested either. By the way in the video the body of Charles is on the floor but the bat isn't that close to the body. If he was holding the bat as he was shot, wouldn't you expect to find the bat right next to the body?

Good evening. I’ve been following this thread and finally decided to comment. Does anyone else notice per body cam video that AC has his sunglasses on top of his forehead? Why?? Soo supposedly he was hit with a metal bat and then a tussle ensued. Wouldn’t those sunglasses have come off his head? Or he just happened to take the time to grab them before coming out of the house with his hands up?? This makes no sense to me

It appeared that Tylee did have some friends. If she had left home, she probably would have contacted one of them, or even her brother.

This is why I don't believe that Tylee is alive. She is old enough to have left, and gone for help.
I think the same. If she were to run off with a special needs child (and even by herself) how would she survive on her own? She had friends and a half-brother, I'd expect her to contact at least someone for help.

I have zero doubt that Tylee is in contact with and receiving assistance from someone known to her, and much more likely than not a relative.

This video answers some of our questions such as whether Alex lived there. Alex says he doesn't live there but he had spent the night there the night before. Alex tells the officer he is a long haul truck driver and has his own home in San Tan Valley. The narrative is still pretty confusing, however, on what the fight was over, how it happened, who started it, who was there when, etc. Alex tells it as if there were two separate events -- first Lori and Charles were arguing and Tylee brought the bat out to defend her mom but supposedly CV took the bat from Tylee. Then Alex says he broke up that argument and that Lori, Tylee and JJ left in CV's rental car leaving CV and Alex there. Alex claims that CV hit him with the bat (after Lori and the kids left?) and then Alex says he went to the room he was staying in to get his gun. The police officer asks if Alex always carries a gun and Alex says yes. Alex claims he came back to the living room and CV was there still holding the bat. Alex claims he told Charles to drop the bat or he would shoot him. Alex claims CV didn't drop the bat so he shot Charles twice in the chest in self defense.

This whole story is such a bunch of bull. I don't understand why Alex didn't find himself under arrest that afternoon. But I guess his claim of self defense couldn't be proven false right away?
:confused:o_O

He was badly in need of a Timeline Guru to keep him straight.

Could you follow what he was saying when he said Tylee "came out with a bat" AND that the bat was "in the living room?"

To me, AC sounded convincing (even knowing he probably was lying) on certain questions) others not so much. The confusing part might be why LV said she saw CV lying on the floor then left and AC said LV and kids left before he shot CV. Maybe Tylee's version was different than LV's & JC's too. That's why I think they didn't arrest him right there. It could have been either one of them covering for the other. jmo But 20 days later, they had a 2nd degree murder charge for AC ready for the DA. I'm sure they questioned them during that time many times and found what CV filed earlier in the year about LV. Moving and leaving no forwarding address 30 days later slowed it down even more but they did report a ping to ID. All the while LV drained CV's accounts. jmo

I hope this is a valid link to AZ Stand Your Ground laws. Prosecution has burdon of proof... So it appears it's not easy to prove. However, there's a section on down that explains when it is "not justified" that gives me pause.
It would make me happy if someone with knowledge of AZ law could address this.

I think he was saying Tylee came out with the bat about 20-30 minutes before he shot CV. Alex made it sound like he intervened and broke up that first argument and then the bat remained in the living room with CV. Then supposedly Lori and the kids left in CV's rental car and CV stays with the bat to threaten Alex for interfering in the earlier argument. That part doesn't make sense to me at all. Why did Lori take CV's car and why would CV stay there? Alex is saying that he didn't go get his gun until after Lori left and after CV hit him in the head. Even the LEO asks Alex why he came back out of the room with the gun. Why not just stay in the room? Alex says he came back out and CV was still there with the bat and wouldn't put the bat down so Alex shot him. IF CV saw Alex with a gun, why would he come after him with a bat? This makes no sense, especially since CV has told people he was afraid Alex and Lori were going to kill him. MOO.

Has anyone been able to identify the make/model of CV's rental car from the body cam of Lori and Tylee returning? I think it's the red vehicle that was parked on the street in footage of the scene after the firetrucks left-- the one we were trying to figure out earlier if it could be "Tylee's Jeep" and why it was parked across the street. I wonder what happened to that rental vehicle? Was it returned or did Lori keep it to drive and just let Charles' credit card keep paying for it after his death? At what point would the rental company try to repossess the car if no one returned it?

GH is covering the latest on this case and other topics, live now. Just FYI

I don't think Tylee would have lied about going to get the baseball bat on her own; and I don't think she would have lied about being scared of Charles/Charles hurting Lori.

Whether or not this argument involved Lori shrieking "wolf" at the top of her lungs about menace that Charles was not actually presenting in order to rile Tylee up for Lori's defense, however, is another kettle of fish.

What reason do you think Tylee would have for hiding? Is she afraid of her mother? Afraid of the "end times"? I just can't fathom it.

This is really maddening.

Are we to assume that if we believe Alex’s story that when Lori walked up with Tylee, they had no idea that Charles had been shot? She’s not screaming, what happened? What happened? Gimme a break!

Lori supposedly leaves with kids when Charles was supposed to take JJ to breakfast, why? Why did he seemingly go to school early? When did school start?

Alex says he cleaned his head up before calling 911... ugh huh. Took him a minute to compose himself.

Alex says they were planning to go do something fun for the day. Did that change to a pool party?

And I really don’t like how LE suggested answers for him when he didn’t have them. Like when he asks why Alex didn’t just stay in his bedroom and lock the door, LE suggests the answer, “it didn’t occur to you?”

You can see from this angle LE points to the black suv and asks if he came in that one. It must have a Texas tag. Looks like an infinity to me.

He says Tylee poked at him, CV, with the bat and he, CV, took it away. (Just a note here... it might be the way he talks but this is one of the things that makes it sound rehearsed. Because to me, I’d say, “he grabbed it , forced it, or something showing anger behind it, not “he took it away”.)

He says “I turned around and he hit me on the back of the head”. No reason why he turned around. Again, no emotion leading to why or explanation . I personally might’ve said, “I was pissed and going to walk away or threaten to call police and go get my phone so I was headed to my bedroom then he hit me”. But no, we just get a “he hit me”.

edited: typos. I need to give up typing on cell.

Hey Everyone,

We have a bunch of people asking to be verified. Please be patient. We are doing our best.
Verifications in cases like this can take a long time due to the people are relatives, friend's, neighbors, and more. We need to look into their information which could involve more phone calls to other people.
As opposed to a professional person wanting to be verified.
Most of the time those verifications take very little to prove they are who they say they are.

Chandler police interview Alexander Cox after shooting

AC states in the video he cleaned his head up ( assuming blood from the bat hit).
Has anyone seen documentation that we was attended to by the medics who arrived while he was being interviewed on the curb?
I didn’t see a lump or bump or wound of any kind within the video and ( having experience in the medical field ) can tell u head wounds bleed like crazy.

I always figured it was a Stand Your Ground type law...
.
Someone looks at you funny?....that's OK...just get a gun and kill them....
Lie about it...the law is on your side....

Are you a psychopath? All the best! That makes you a better liar! Stand Your Ground likes your type the best! (Sarcasm, but this is how these laws appear to me)

I just realized something too listening to the 911 call on with Gray.

Alex tells 911 hesitates and says “I don’t know where she is I think she took her son to school”

but he tells LE on scene that she left and he knew that!

I know what ya mean, FridayFan. And, Alex had a criminal record... That has to have bearing in this case.

Edit to correct autocorrect... I'm sorry your name got messed up originally @ FridayFan!
