My son the car guru says it's a KIA Sorrento
I have to agree with him, here's a stock photo that's spot on.
Definitely it.

I’ll have to look back at the timeline but I don’t remember reading this before, from the article.

When Charles learned Lori was going to Boise with a friend, he “made attempts to serve (her) at the airport, a hotel, and a public event.” All attempts were unsuccessful, and Charles came to believe that Lori had changed her travel plans at the last minute.

Upon learning she was living with her brother in San Tan Valley, Ariz., Charles “attempted service at the brother’s house but was unsuccessful,” despite the fact that twice the server noticed both Lori and her brother’s cars were in the driveway.

.........

Was the San Tan Valley address really her brothers? Or possible other family?

yes, and we know Lori was staying with Alex then, because the neighbors heard their fight in the street

Thank you! Perfect! I just did a side by side too and agree completely.

Here's a side by side (sort of)
Definitely a KIA Sorento

Feb 16 · Near Death Experiences, Dreams of Future Events, Overcoming Disappointments — Nextdoor

This event was in Boise, Idaho Feb. 16th, which I think would fit the timeline of when Charles was trying to serve Lori. Chad was speaking and also Lori's female podcasting friend.
I want to go ahead and add to this in case it disappears. From our timeline we have that Chad was speaking at an event in Rexburg this same day. Source was pap flyer. We should figure out if that’s right or one changed? From our timeline:

16 Feb 2019 – Chad Speaks at a Preparing A People event in Rexburg ID (PAP Flyer).

From quote:

upload_2020-1-15_1-19-48.jpeg

The event will be held at: The Millcreek Elementary School 500 North Middleton Road Middleton, Idaho

Acknowledging local request for a question & answer fireside, Hector Sosa, Jr granted that request for the date of February 15, 2019, the Friday evening before event on Saturday. The fireside will be held at the same location at 6:30 p.m.

A much longer version of 2nd officer's body cam. I haven't watched it all yet, but here are a few quick notes:

It does show fire positioned just down the street prior to police showing up. I know someone earlier was asking why they didn't come at the same time as LE. This shows they did but they stayed back until LE gave them the all clear to approach.

Secondly, there are a couple quick frames where I can make out what appears to be blood on Alex' left hand. I'm guessing probably Charles' blood. So he maybe did do CPR. Or at least touched him at some point. Unless it's his own blood.

He does reach up with his right hand to touch the back of his head a few times, but I can't seem to see any blood on his right hand or head. He also tells the officer that he cleaned his head before calling 911, which means he should have had an open wound somewhere on his head, but I haven't seen evidence of such yet. He does ask the officer for some water though, maybe to wash any blood away or is he just thirsty?

ETA: Lori appears back on scene at the 15:48:45 timestamp of the body cam. Later confirms the two vehicles in driveway and garage are hers and the red vehicle is Charles' rental.

Also, earlier I was wondering why LE appeared to be taking down the crime scene tape so early. This longer video makes it clear that they were just repositioning the tape so as to direct traffic a different way.

No audio for Lori and Tylee interview, unfortunately.

Thanks for this, as I hadn’t seen it before.

This is the most BS story I’ve heard in a long time. He speaks in generalities, and is unable (unwilling) to give a a detailed account.

He shoots this guy dead, and then takes the time to clean himself up. He’s oddly calm during this entire thing.

It’s like he and his sister discussed a basic scenario beforehand, and he was recounting that (no specifics).

I’d like to see the formal police interview, as there’s no way he didn’t completely screw it up.

Glad to see you here @MassGuy .

I think you vocalized better what I meant earlier. It’s like an outline without detail or adjectives. I’d hope they asked for specifics without “leading” as these guys did. But, if he did screw it up why wasn’t he arrested?

LE could get relationships right in the beginning and still never did while on site it appears. It might’ve been helpful for them to know why CV was there, and who Tylee was.

An officer can be seen examining the back of Alex' head. Strangely it's the left side of his head Alex points out and the officer looks at, when earlier Alex had only ever been touching the right side.

Also more info, reporter says "Chandler police won't say when they knew this murder investigation was tied to the missing kids case, and to complicate things Alex died last month." BBM.

Officer: "It does make it more challenging, we can't obviously interview him any more. So we are still collecting evidence, that could be you know extra interviews with regards to Lori, digital evidence, stuff of that nature." BBM.

Sounds like they still consider it an open case. Moo.

So strange. I haven’t seen that part of the video or the pat down but it’s imbedded in that story. There must be more we don’t have yet.

I just realized something. All hypothetical because I don’t know if CV had life insurance for sure although we have heard about a 2m policy.

Most policies have exclusions. One of those is called the felony exclusion. They can deny a life insurance claim if you die while committing a felony. If the “hitting Alex with a bat” is deemed a felony, it’s possible any claim could be denied.

Will the felony exclusion result in a life insurance claim denial?

What should I do about a felony exclusion for a AD& D claim?

Case was deemed self-defense. So Alex and Lori were in the clear. Even now, police claims they look at the case as self-defense and only keep it open to assist with missing children investigation. So there would be no reason to hide the kids over this case.
Yet 2nd degree was put on the report to the prosecutor. Were they considering charging AC and that is also partly why AC and LV get apartments in Rexburg? At the same time the landlord wants LV out by 31 Aug so maybe CD says move up here, but why does AC move too and another person - a sister? Maybe why the 2nd degree is still an open investigation. Now AC is dead, it is even more suspicious. MOO

How would moving to another state prevent someone from being charged? Furthermore Alex returned to AZ, as we all know he died there. If he had concerns about being charged, and that could only be done if he lived in AZ, why did he return there?

It seems he returned only to die there after marrying in a third state at the end of Nov after LE searched their apartments. We don't know why he returned or why he left in the first place but can only speculate. I believe he was on the run. Moving to another state would make it more difficult to charge any of them, I never said it would prevent it.

So they are still investigating it as a murder. Despite AC being deceased. Perhaps we should have more threads regarding CV, AC and TD once the autopsy reports are in for the latter. Is there an autopsy report for CV does anyone know? We would know whether it was 2 or 4 shots fired then. If four shots, can one really say that was self defence?

This is really maddening.

Are we to assume that if we believe Alex’s story that when Lori walked up with Tylee, they had no idea that Charles had been shot? She’s not screaming, what happened? What happened? Gimme a break!

Lori supposedly leaves with kids when Charles was supposed to take JJ to breakfast, why? Why did he seemingly go to school early? When did school start?

Alex says he cleaned his head up before calling 911... ugh huh. Took him a minute to compose himself.

Alex says they were planning to go do something fun for the day. Did that change to a pool party?

And I really don’t like how LE suggested answers for him when he didn’t have them. Like when he asks why Alex didn’t just stay in his bedroom and lock the door, LE suggests the answer, “it didn’t occur to you?”

You can see from this angle LE points to the black suv and asks if he came in that one. It must have a Texas tag. Looks like an infinity to me.

He says Tylee poked at him, CV, with the bat and he, CV, took it away. (Just a note here... it might be the way he talks but this is one of the things that makes it sound rehearsed. Because to me, I’d say, “he grabbed it , forced it, or something showing anger behind it, not “he took it away”.)

He says “I turned around and he hit me on the back of the head”. No reason why he turned around. Again, no emotion leading to why or explanation . I personally might’ve said, “I was pissed and going to walk away or threaten to call police and go get my phone so I was headed to my bedroom then he hit me”. But no, we just get a “he hit me”.

edited: typos. I need to give up typing on cell.

Alex says he didn't turn around to go get the gun until after Charles struck him with the bat. But I wonder if he actually turned around and brought the gun into the scene earlier than he admitted. In other words, he escalated the situation.

I think it is possible Lori sent the kids out to the car to get them away from the situation and was therefore present when CV was shot. Maybe she was in the kitchen when he was shot then left afterwards to take JJ to school so that it could be said she was not there when he was shot. I personally would not believe anything either of those two have said and I believe LE may have come to the same conclusion hence the 2nd degree charge on the report for prosecution to decide/determine what happened. I wonder if there is any actual surveillance footage of the property or street?

I also didn't appreciate cop feeding Alex the answers to support the self-defense claim. Alex claims he went into the bedroom to get the gun. He also claims by that time Lori and children left. He doesn't say that Charles followed him. So why didn't he stay in the bedroom and call police? When he can't answer that, cop helpfully provides the answer that Alex just didn't think of it. Wonderful interrogation technique-I am obviously being sarcastic here. If you subject can't give you the answer, please don't provide them with helpful hints to get them off.

The question I have is: How does keeping Charles' case open assist in the missing children investigation? It isn't necessary. Children being missing is enough to warrant an investigation on its own. If anything, I would think that if the kids were being hidden due to what happened in July, then closing the case would be more likely to at least get the children located while keeping it open would only keep them in hiding. I get the feeling that there is something more to it.
Children didn't go missing from Chandler, AZ. They would not be investigating the missing children case, whether killing of Charles were close or open. But the detective on Charles case made a claim that they are only keeping the case open to assist with missing children investigation.
